  1. Yeah, I have been stupid again. Works now, sorry to bother you 😕
  2. hm. Updated it, used the above-posted to-do-list, but still, there is a code to enter. Otherweise, does not work.
  3. I have to enter a "Beta"-access code. Unfortunately, I canot seem to find one?
  4. Sooo...a little late, but some thoughts from me, too. Overall, I am very pleased with the barebones campaign and it's mechanics. Not too complex, some nice options there. As many people pointed out, the campaign seems to be over far too quickly, depending on the year. I enjoyed every time I played, but in the later campaigns I feel, I do not have that many options. The shipyard size is very small, expanding it takes a lot of time and by the time I could lay down a more powerful battleship, the war is long over. Also, technology does not seem to be really relevant in the later campains, because the money needed for construction and the high upkeep and repair costs eat up the available funds. Usually, I am disregarding the funding for technology altogether to afford a decent battle line, which is still much smaller than the AI's. Due to losses, I am pouring much funds into transport capabilities and of course a decent amount into crew. Speaking of crew : The player, as well as the AI, seems to be gaining experience well over "Trained". The AI was much improved, for which I am very grateful. I have encountered battleships armed with 18 inch guns and the AI tried to keep them at range, sending it's escorts to keep me from closing. In the same campaign, the enemy battlecruisers were only armed with 11 inch guns (but on a 44 knot hull). These vessels literally charged my battle line to make their guns more effective. Torpedo carriers try to box you in (with several divisions, a single division will keep it's line formation) while trying to avoid being boxed in themselves. Well done The stern chases are...well, I get it that the enemy closes to see what kind of foe there is and tries to run from a superior enemy, that's sensible. It is just that such a stern chase takes a lot of time. Night battles are frustrating when the enemy can see you and you do not see them, even posessing ships of the same size. You end up being spammed by electric torpedoes which you detect a second before they hit, invariably sinking you before you make contact. The new hulls, especially the japanese ones, are sweet. They provide some new options and looks and I think they are well done. Well...japanese navy's dream ship...for all who do not like the enemy torpedo spam...now you can retaliate. Now, I would like to see some campaign modifications, like the ability to chose starting tech and money and I hope for new cruiser hulls/Superstructure. Since the current campaign includes Great Britain and Germany, I would like to see Bayern-class hulls, Derfflinger/Mackensen hulls, L20 and corrosponding GK hulls as counterweight to the british G3/N3 hulls and the ability for German destroyers to mount 150mm weapons from 1918 onwards.
  5. Here is an image for clarification of my above-mentioned and discussed closeness of destroyers. Perhaps it will help to better understand what I mean.
  6. I am not adverse to unexpected losses and historically, destroyers were able to sneak up to the enemy, happened. And of course I play on, despite this. But one enemy destroyer literally touched my vessel, it's division mates were not far away astern and ahead and the others extremely close. While I understand the element of surprise and terrain like islands or adverse weather conditions or nighttime, this close is a bit harsh, I think, as it suggests that neither the radar works properly (okay, it is a new technology in the 30s) and the lookouts are all drunk. So. If this is an intended thing, okay. But I feel that this is not really intended and it would be nice if there could be a comment from the devs about this.
  7. I have now played the campaign for some time and it is overall nice. But I have a complaint, aside from the stern chases and enemy ships seeing you and firing torpedoes without being seen. That is the ambush situation. Now, more than once, enemy destroyers start RIGHT BESIDE my battleships. There is no escape. Five minutes ago, the first battle of a new compaing, I lost a battleship in the first 30 seconds of combat, because six enemy destroyers started the scenario less than a kilometer away. My hapless battleship went down with fifteen hits. Sorry, that is insane, especially when being equipped with Radar II. On a side note : When I am the ambusher, my destroyers start much, much farther away.
  8. I am not on Steam, will I be able to continue using the launcher?
  9. Hi there. After a battle, I wanted to play again, only to find that all of my designs are gone. No battleship, no cruiser, nothing. That only happened to the German vessels I designed, other nations seem to be fine. Addendum : After redesigning a lot of them, they were deleted again...
  10. Several times when designing a ship, I cannot select advanced engines like Diesels or Gas Turbines, despite being 1940. Also, the designs are not always saved, I have to design them anew. Again, several main guns have no true firing arc, namely 17 inch or larger cannot be placed on standard german battleships.
  11. hm...been playing the patch now for some time and most things have been said about it. Generelly, I am positive about it. There are some things, that are not that nice. 1.Creating your own balanced fleet is a powerful asset and makes my lesser ships now actually contributing to the overall picture. That was the feature I was waiting for and it is finally here, so a big thank you for that. Now...if we could have that for the AI as well, that would be awesome. While the AI now creates more viable ships as it seems, I have had my fill of soviet..eerrr...russian superbattleships armed with twenty 19 inch guns devastating my treaty-like battleship line in a few salvoes. 2.The addition of crew is a nice touch and I like it. Yes, there are some things like taking a hit in the prow and losing gun crew is a bit strange, but I am sure that will be corrected in the future. 3.The new models are beautiful, especially the russian ships, but the italian as well. I am hoping for individual styles for Austrian-Hungarian, Chinese and Spanish ships in the future and I am hoping that German superstructures will be revamped as well. (Still hoping for an Odin-style bridge stucture). 4.Torpedo evasion is now much more realistic, though I am still getting frustrated by the spread of my torpedo strikes. More often than not there are convinient gaps between the torpedoes for the enemy to exploit, even when launching amassed strikes by several vessels. 5.I truely appreciate the fact, that larger guns now fit on German/AH barbettes that come with the superstructure. But that's it. They fit. They do not turn or fire for they have no firing arc. The same is true for many turrets placed on the hull. For some reason, they do not turn or have only a very limited firing arc. Speaking of that, I would like to have the ability to mount 5 and 6 inch guns on the "wings" of German-style superstructures, like many other countrys can and the ability to mount at least 6 inch guns on German battlecruisers and 5 inch on German heavy cruisers without needing awkward placement methods Speaking of it, I would like to see 6 inch guns for German destroyers, too 6.I still think that armor is too heavy. But perhaps that is me wanting to armor my ships against the inevitable rain of devastation from the AI. 7.There are sometimes extreme lags when designing a ship. Also, loading a previous design often results in bad-placed items, where before they were fine.
  12. While I appreciate that german battleships can now mount 17 and 18 inch guns on superimposed barbettes, they are highlighted yellow and have no firing arc at all. Also, you still cannot mount 6 inch guns on german standard battleship's flanks (or battlecruisers).
  13. Wow, man! Much appreciated, really. It works. It really works. Thank you for your help, really. Now, if we could get the armor weights to be somewhat lower and the ability to mount secondary gun on German hulls flanks, we are game
  14. Thank you very much, that did not work, unfortunately. Still floating ships in the endless grey 😕
  15. Did that, did not work. Still having the same problem as "Baatsman". However, my ships do nothing at all, even if placed near the enemy. No firing, no nothing. No interface, just a fleet floating in a grey nothhing. I have to say I am a bit dissapointed.
  16. Will do so, once I am home this evening, thank you.😀
  17. Hey, Nick. I still am not able to Play at all. After designing the ships, I Launch. The program builds ships, as always. Then nothing happens. Wegen I click on the screen, I can see the ships, but no water, no interface, no nothing. Last version at least worked (aside from the occassional 'too many threads' Error).
  18. Unplayable as of now on my system. Before this patch, almost everything was fine (save for some 'too many threads' crashes). Now, however, loading takes very long, ending in "loading level"...and nothing else. (Mouse)Clicking crashes the game, showing the ships (including below-waterline parts), but no water, no interface, no nothing....really disapointed.
  19. Well, while moving the object with the mouse, you press the CTRL button. That allows you a wider range of placement options. For turning, you press the T or R buttons. Rotating heavier turrets is also the only way to mount these on standard german battleships. Looks crappy, but works.
  20. That is a known problem. You might want to use CTRL-button and turn the turrets to fix this. Seemingly, the secondaries are a bit large now and will not fit. This also goes for smaller secondaries on smaller hulls, mainly on Japanese and German hulls.
  21. This happens with and without using CTRL button. And, as stated, the guns on the port side, aka the exact twin of the one on starboard, does not have that problem. See my earlier post for clarification, please
  22. hm...I do not know if it is related, but since the patch, my game sometimes takes a loooong time between launching the ship and the beginning of the battle, seemingly freezing up, but after a minute or so it runs normally.
