  1. At this point, the devs should just add ASM into the game because sooner or later all small ships will be irrelevant with how everything is either Super or dead at 30km away.
  2. OMEGALUL can't wait to play a gacha game where the drop rate of a "Mark V 16 inch gun" is 0.001%
  3. Great, I'd love to see 10 battleships equipped with 1000ft long 17inch armor belt in 1895, I'd HECKING love to fight those with my 4 11inch battleship by cheesing the AI into torpedoing each other or whatever. I HECKING LOVE cheesing AI in a historical game. I HECKING LOVE TOTAL WAR LEGENDARY "DIFFICULTY". Thanks bro haHAA
  4. Everything comes down to the "AI" they hold so dear. I understand that it takes a lot of work to create an "AI" for any games, especially ones that act like they are intelligent. Mediocre AI works fine for most games because the rules to mimic real intelligence are somewhat concise (FPS: AI "only" need to: take cover, sprint, shoot, duck, etc... or Arcade RTS: AI are more complicated but they has a set environment to work with and usually outmatches the player in reaction time). This game however, the AI needs to CREATE. Create "things" that even intelligent people take times to draw up not some random picture that could be learned under "modern arts" in many universities. But the AI needs simple parameters to get things right because they can't make it to work with a robust system. But guess what? You do not need to impose those SAME parameters on the players. This would be the equivalent of BF1 campaign makes your shot automatically miss the AI until the random chance allow the AI enemy to hit the player and the player is now allowed to hit back especially because EA couldn't get the AI to play like real humans. No, you don't do that. Nobody has done something so backward like that before (or maybe they did and the reason we haven't heard from them is because nobody bought their product or it got canned). If you restrict the player ability to create in a game about creativity, I think you've made some really bad decisions.
  5. Yes, I would like to build cruiser design that in real life was 10k or something ton without going to 15k ton in this game. Thank you. I appreciate the people who still want this game to be what it should be... You know. I never realize that US CLs in WW2 did not carry torpedoes despite the fact that I keep looking at them every time I want to build a "modern" cruiser in this game. The more you know... Though I should have stated as "CL in 1910s and 20s". I believe most of them carried torpedoes. I was very surprised when my pre-dreadnought didn't die 2km within a CL formation.
  6. The problem is the AI does not work. It's not that it's working with flaws. It isn't. And when it does, it works as well as coding FPS AI to "If (player_detected == 1 && time == 100ms) { HeadShotPlayer (1); }". How many times does it has to be said that the AI fails to give the player any challenge that resemble reality OR fairness (because reality of combat isn't very fair). Every time I boot up the game, all of my interesting designs i.e designs that have flaws like IRL I would face the challenge of getting the AI to design something that isn't YAMATO or TILLMAN or something that would instantly turn my ship into Swiss cheese. Great, there goes my interesting designs. Other time, I wanted to build a good battleship or two, I run into the Navy of the poorest nation on Earth who could not hope to afford more than 10 inches of belt armor in 1920 and instantly combust upon the slight touch of a 14'' heavy shell. Well, there goes my 20 mins adventure of design, watch ship goes boom in 2 mins, and quit. I have said it time and time again, that this is one of the main reason why people would boot up the game, play for like half an hour, and quit. Now, about the AI ships designs flaws. They still put 6 triple guns on to the battleships and explode spectacularly as expected. They still put guns in the "Extended" belt armor area and again, explode spectacularly. They still build extremely under armored battleships although not as bad as before. They still build CL without a single torpedo launcher. They still build CA like they build their battleships... so many guns that you would think it would flip the damn ship if they fire a broadside. They still build ships that looks so terrible even the restricted ship building mechanic couldn't save it (put guns in the wrong places like I said, disgusting placement of secondary guns, wrong barbette usage, weird superstructure choices like very large and modern Tower in the front but tiny secondary tower). They still build destroyers with triple guns turret that looks not only ridiculous but broken as shit because in this game, more guns = always better. These are the problems that has been in the game since the day I download the game. Sure, the AI sometimes gets it right and build a nice ship, oh wait it's undergunned. Yea. No. If you say the AI works, all I see is that it's working AGAINST having a good game. So what's the solution? It has already been said before. Let us build the ships. Then the AI will modify those ships built by players for their own needs. That's when you can literally asks US, the PLAYERS to engage in helping YOU GUYS make this game FASTER and BETTER. That would also make throwing more hulls at the problem a good thing. We build, put things in place with an open, well designed ship builder. The AI takes those and remove or add according to their campaign modifiers.
  7. So... has the AI ship designer got any better in the last year or is it still pumping out ships that even its own mother couldn't even bring herself to look at? I don't want to be THAT guy but throughout the entire development up to this point, EVERY SINGLE FEATURE requested about the PLAYER interaction with the game mechanics has been about AI designer UNABLE to do so and thus NOT to be given to the player. So in that sense, might as well give us a line of running code to look at and let us imagine the screen with ships we could build. We wanted to have a better ship builder: nope, ai can't handle it. We wanted to have better battle formations: well... yea the AI is hanging on for dear life trying to sort out every ship movements. We wanted to have fun in custom battle and test things out: no test the AI instead. Well, yea thanks, I'm glad I'm part of this testing phrase where I can barely test anything with repeatable and tangible results because it's a 20 dice roll every time I click "Play"
  8. Please. Pleaseee give us the ability to edit the enemy ships in custom battles in this update. If we can save our designs, then the AI can simply use the designs we have saved. Why is it so hard?
  9. LULE History is written by the victor. How can you believe that while living in the age of free information?
  10. Well it could be that they stack other stats like stability. This game has so many things that could be clearer to the player, giving them info that actually matters. But as it stands, everything is on the right side panel, look at it, or don't and make your ship look as good as your eyes desire (which is also limited by the atrocious ship building mechanic, or lack thereof)
  11. I was hoping we could design enemy ships. It has been more than a year now since we requested custom battle to be expanded. The AI ship designs are atrocious and sometimes downright impossible irl. Let's not touch on the fact that when I want a fair fight, I want a fair fight. I don't want the AI to build a bazillion dollar ship to counter my 8 million dollar cruiser. When I want to build a ship that can be produced in numbers but with some quality, I don't want 1 of them to fight a ship of the same class that has YAMATO-COPY stamped on the side. Or vice versa, so many times I wanted to test a decent battleship build and the AI built a shitty HMS Captain copy that would sink if a breeze went by.
  12. Is this a bug? Is this a feature? What the flapping bird is this? Because it has been in the game since as long as I can remember. And it is bull****. I just lost a game 1 v 3 that could have been easily won if my own BB didn't just fire only 2x2 14in of the 5 x 2 14in guns every other salvo. Like it literally happened 7 times and it costed me precious reloading time while my guns were showing 20% hit chance. And then the enemy turn away, and I lost because when I could kill them, my own BB just didn't. Great game design.
  13. Are there any plans to give large main guns its own superfiring barbettes instead of the current medium, tall, very tall, etc.. like we have now? Any plans to open up ship hulls customization in terms of shapes? Or anything regarding bulkheads thickness and barbettes thickness? I feel like the ship building is still very barebone. It's all the same hull, same layout any deviation is not possible due to ship hull being limited or very detrimental to the ship performance that is just terrible against anything else. I felt it before that I was just building the same ship like people have said but now after so long without any major improvements it is really getting to me. I like the concept but it's not there yet... sadly.
  14. Is the next patch ready guys? I really want to know when is the expanded custom battle coming
  15. Yes, this is how it should be. It triggers my OCD when the AI use normal barbette JUST to put a double 2-inch gun. It's just ... urghh
  16. PLEASE, guys, give us the custom battle expansion. I knowww that you guys are working on the campaign but my god, I cannot test my ship build because the enemy ship is bloody random, like WILDLY random. I want to build a BC that is a bit on the lighter side but still good at killing most cruisers and dd, the AI builds the heaviest cruiser there is in the Pacific. I want to test my superbattleship with 8 20'' guns, the enemy BBs are helpless against it. We have asked for expansion of custom battles since the beginning of development, and that's nearly a year now, and it is barely mentioned anywhere. And that is one of the biggest replay value that I, and most people in this forum, look forward to. Let us build all the ships!
  17. Again, it is because of the very limiting ship designer. It's the same thing every time. You can't get creative while still being reasonable. It's either 3 or 4 turrets with the same secondary or going ham on the jam, crank every slider up to 11 and make some unsinkable bullship ( get it? ). The fact that AI still build insane ships like... I tried a 1904 RUS vs JAPN and the enemy heavy CRUISER has a larger gun caliber than the BB ?! and we can't change how they are designed is just not fun to play. I know it's being worked on with the campaign but I think that was a mistake. It should have came with the custom battle from the beginning.
  18. Destroyers in fact did fk each other up with guns a lot of times during WW2 Though I do agree with you that destroyers are very "gamey" right now. Torps are too accurate all the while gets ridiculous amount of reload. Torps should be less accurate and scarce yet extremely deadly unlike what we have got right now where a pre-dreadnought BB builds in 1903 could have the tech to tank 3 17inch torps and live
  19. See, the thing is, it's fine with lower tech, but when it's hello kittying 1930s tech, torps can fire at 12km range or someshit and constantly changing course due to spammy amount of torp would eventually kill you one way or another which is both bullshit (fail balancing) and unrealistic to the point of fantasy (like medieval fantasy). This need to change ASAP. Destroyers should be deterrent against convoy raiding, giving anti air cover, screening, etc and not hello kittying ship killers because IRL they weren't.
  20. Ohhhh I don't know, if only game would let me spawn with more than a battleship (talking about the build a battleship and having to fight 12 destroyers that hello kittying reload 12 torp spam every other minute). And yes, escorts sometimes doesn't work because of the stupid smoke and fast-speed penalty.
  21. Destroyers having multiple torp load is the single most bullshit balance issue in this game. Why bother building a 40k ton battleship when 5 destroyers with smoke screen will sink it anyway? Especially with later tech, it looks like I'm not playing in the 1930s but in some magic steampunk universe where people hide 24 21inches torps in their blackhole ass and pull it out when needing to reload.
  22. Yea something is wrong at first glance imo. I had the Japanese designing 1920 light cruisers to be looking like downsized Kongo battlecruisers/battleships.
  23. @Nick Thomadis Can we get a little bit hint when this will drop please? I'm soooooo looking forward to this update
  24. Soooo, guys? when is the update coming?
