we can remove it, if players dont like it and find it boring. We went the way of open development and listen to players who asked to add the map. I am still 100% against the map in game. It should be players responsibility to learn the surroundings and its fun to chart your way yourself. like real captains - on paper..
I still want to sail to europe or at least the US west coast

@admin Something like this would make it more special. Maybe add a perk for 1 point that let's you see through the "false AI flag", so people who hate it can get rid of it for 1/5 perk slot ? The AI disguise could work only up to a certain distance or if you use spyglass on the pirate ship you get a 50% chance to reveal it? With something like this 3/3 would be acceptable...

another thing that is nice about them is that you can hide in all the enemy ports once they come out with a gank fleet. its like the ultimate gank ship. if you get a crew of 5 of them together. if the revenge fleet comes out then you just go into port and wait for reinforcements. I believe the sweedish night crew has gotten a taste of it.
@admin That's its only purpose atm... baiting noobs because they think it's a easy kill and then gank with 5 that hide in port... Have to agree here completely.

its a support ship with a specific role and it shines in that role. Players have to find that role.
I know it is a pirate ship / trader hunter but where is it's role when it doesn't even do this better than most other frigates? Yes, you can play it as support ship but you can play all ships as support ship... just a small buff to swivels and 3/5 slots would be really balanced in my opinion... it is still rather weak and can't beat "solo pvp frigates" ( assuming same captain skill again ) with its downwind focused profile and 90pd broadside.
I doubt even with 3/5 slots it could beat surprise or trinco on the same skill level... just a tiny buff to swivels and 3/5 make it still a support ship / trader hunter but at least worth sailing and more versatile... wouldn't you agree?
I would be happy, if you at least consider it. With 90pd broadside weight it will never outclass the other frigates anyways... not even if it had 5/5 possibility ( maybe in boarding because it has 310 crew but that's it... )

To show you real example of economic warfare feature you will love but everyone else will hate. You raid Port royal - all assets in port royal are lost.
You will be excited - but most players will leave the game.I think it is good as it is as long as you keep the best woods as far away from the capital zones as possible. This promotes trading and the economic warfare part but still allows people to build ships in the safezone, albeit not with the best stats...

Last time I played it, the deceleration was pretty bad ( maybe it was changed in recent patches ) but that is not the main problem with the ship... the main problem is 3/3. The 3 skill slots cripple it too much... as I said it was bad when it was 3/3 vs 3/5 but now it is even possible to face 4/5 and 5/5. Why would I buy LGV refit for 25 PvP marks when it is bad at fighting other small frigates ( probably even niagara or cerberus would trash it with equal captain skill ) and not the best at hunting trader either? As @Banished Privateer already said... surprise and prince are better trader hunters and even pirate frigate is way better ( you don't need hold space with fleet perk )...

Just wanted to conclude that nobody could justify thus far the fact that LGV is massively underperforming for the price of 25 PvP marks and not worth sailing... a real shame.

Sorry for slight off-topic but what actually happens if you get pushed ashore by leeway? Is the ship instantly destroyed or simply stranded / unable to move?

Very good idea but make sure the zone is big enough for people to dodge gank dread fleets... it's the same and only problem PvP event had. Solo players and noobs only feed 10+ gank fleets sometimes. Reward or not it isn't fun for them... make the zone large enough for people to choose their fight and at the same time not simply run out of the circle / zone to avoid giving rewards, when being hunted...

Yeah, but still why only 3 knowledge slots? I can use normal LGV as support ship and repair carrier, too... why pay 25 PvP marks? Do the swivels boost "fire deck guns" during boarding by the way? Haven't noticed this but I think they should...

Yeah at a price... look at the OP. I mentioned it. And hiding in enemy ports is overrated... at least with a ship with 90pd broadside.

Did you know Pirate Frigate has almost the exact same profile, slightly higher base speed, 306pd broadside with being able to mount poods, compared to 90pd of refit, better turning AND a boarding bonus? Use fleet perk and you can take the trader with you. And yes, then we get to possibly 5/5 compared to 3/3....

I'm not a very skilled player but I asked some of the best and they all agreed it's only good if you are drowning in PvP marks and need a trader ship fast when you can't build a normal LGV....
Even for trader hunting... why would I use this and not a frigate with enough slots for boarding and speed mods with fleet perk? Nobody wants 3/3 in the mod stacking meta.... and most definitely not with 90pd broadside + swivels for 25 PvP mark... a Wasa is like what... 30?

I'm looking for a source that lists % of jib and square sails for all ships, if there is one ( admin gave out some info about 4th rates in some patch notes but no complete list ). Also I want to know how to boost speed with sail force when heading beam reach ( around 90° ) ... I assume it depends on the ratio of % of jib and square sails on the ship but is there one force that generally has greater impact or doesn't adding pirate/spanish rig help much since it isn't up or downwind really?
