  1. all of this could be achieved with discord out of game between the parties involved , easier to police it ourselves without asking the devs or mods to do it

we are fast approaching the point where ingame chat is removed , far too many toxics and racists left to cause problems and in game reporting is too hit and miss if the same retards are constantly left to say whatever they wish to the detriment of the community

    #discord

I see this more as a thread to let every one know what clans are going back to what nations or staying put. I know a few guys with me are actually looking for a new nation to do something different but haven't decided yet.

yep many are waiting to see if the game offers any changes with regard to outlaw or alliances

simply put, it's too early to risk nailing colours to any mast right now

All i'm seeing here is everything is getting wiped to make it an even playing field for the new players, so if this is the case why is the game not being released over a weekend which was one of the biggest issue's the US timezone players had during the last map wipe. How is it an even playing field if EU players can get straight online and start grinding ports (yes i know its harder in smaller ships but still possible) while the US timezone players will be stuck at work. Surely its not that difficult to release a game on a set day.... SATURDAY!

I'd hoped for regional servers which would have alleviated some of the concerns about release and timers in game but if they don't know how many players will play , it seems as if it will be "see who turns up " I guess

saturday release would help some, not all. In much the same way as a clan could lock down a port that you or I might not be awake to attack (in game )

almost, the difference is that you probably have 1000 more game hours experience then that guy  that starts fresh

yeah for those thinking about changing nations , names , clans etc ..it's fairly important to know

I was always under the impression that regardless of what was said in the past, a full reset was inevitable and needed.

I am happy it's finally happening, 2 years for me and longer for a lot of you

  5. If we don't get enough players for 3 separate time zoned servers, then I would seriously worry about the longevity of the game. We would just bleed out slowly

Many of the known issues we suffer from only having 1 server cannot be solved in a way that makes everybody happy, they just tolerate the problems

5k at release, there will be queues and nobody will queue happily for long , knowing full well content will be locked when they get onto the server.

Night flips and timers cause so much grief . Ping times...     maintenance being done during Oceanic prime time.

All the most serious issues would be solved by having regional servers. Time gating will cause apathy

I'd like to see an option to purchase additional ship tows. I certainly appreciate the current free daily one and that has been a great help in avoiding unproductive game time. I would like to see this as a permit available from the Admiralty for a substantial cost in doubloons or marks. I'd suggest something like 10000 dubs, 1 Victory mark or 5 Combat Medals.

been asked for before and is likely to appear at some point IMHO

I would rather it was  in game currency mind and not stuck behind a paywall

But the meta on war is winner takes it all. But your idea will fit nice in, I Think. The Big strong clans will get paid for fighting for the nation, thoes that dosent will have to pay them for doing so. But why stop at tax in Reals. Why not also a dock fee. 50 dbl everytime you dock in a port. Will help the big strong clans to pay for wood and dbl for ship crafting.

do like the dock fee Idea , reals probably easier to use as the currency though

  8. Toxic players often get added to ignore. The ignore function keeps track on any of their name changes

Up to the devs to keep track of transgressors, not the playerbase IMHO. We all know many of the trouble makers but it isn't up to us to police it

I feel certain the devs will want to allow second chances though , they have let many total retards return to the forums after their bad behaviour or ignored the obvious forum alt accounts as long as I have been here

  9. back when we had resources readily available, many players were crafting lots of ships in the hope of attaining purples and golds. This in turn made them sell their normal blue types on the open market. The trickle down effect worked ok. Ships were plentiful

either have a random chance in a capturable port or make everybody get blue only. I see no merit in changing a system which at least gives a chance of creating a better ship for a lucky soul and another lucky soul might find a ship on sale that the crafter didn't want.

Imagine having a crafting perk which gave a higher % chance of crafting a better ship ? How many players would have to buy a crafting alt just for that ?  That good for the game ? More alts or more benefits to players able to pay more ?

I think you're on to something. The fear isn't always rational, but the problem of perception annoyingly remains despite logic.

    But are you surprised?

Arena airheads get tired of the ganking which makes us lose ships and run out of ship tows. Ganking isn't fun and no tows is a showstopper. 1v1 zone is without rewards for the loser because of farmers. PZ is gank-zones because of sandbox and faction based fear of griefing (refer to admin's posts on the subject).

No I am not surprised, I don't see it as a viable game play option for me and therefore for some others also. Move the patrol zone to Bermuda, have a freeport up there so people can teleport to it , switch the map daily and then the gank zones won't cause any effect on the rest of the map.

Players whined about not being able to find pvp , admin put a big marker on the map with rewards and still people don't go there in sufficient quantity to have raised the pop. If the game is fun, word gets out, players come back, pop starts to rise. What we are seeing is the opposite

1 tiny portion of the map, which is useless in itself cannot be set aside for the players who only want to 1v1  or have a min battle ? That in turn frees up the rest of the map to be played as the others want. Both sides would be happier

None of us will end up with the game we want, we will get the game we are given

  11. Regardless of peoples preferred playstyles , i always think it's foolish to risk alienating a % of the the playerbase. I always advocated an arena style zone in Bermuda , that people could teleport to, if there was also a Freeport up there. The fact that the patrol zone and 1v1 zone doesn't seem to have brought back any players from cryo sleep is worrying

DLC ships are fine , stopping access to other ships or making it a lot harder , just seems like trying to funnel people towards the cashpoint. This is the worry when you have no idea what game we are getting for the money we have already paid

this is the concern for most, they could handle a wrecked economy if the items they wanted were achievable. Right now certain ships are  hidden behind an rng wall that has many feeling it's on purpose and for one reason only

I come out in a cutter...my friend from another nation comes out in his DLC ship...we enter battle...he surrenders.  Trade complete.

DLC ships are here to stay and it is unfair to change them after purchase.  What needs to be changed is the ability of players to counter them with in game assets.  This could include being able to craft the DLC ships.  Or we can deal with what everyone is complaining about and remove the rare woods and permit problems.  DLC ships are not OP.  What they are is very convenient.  If building quality ships were made more convenient, nobody would have a valid reason to complain about the DLCs.

yeah not tradeable or capturable ( same thing in reality)

we cannot alter what is already available, we can add things to keep everybody happier
