    I can see your concern I also can see a flip side we’re the sales for the prolific forger go up so people can swap nations to counter these “zergs”

    I do appreciate your point and you are not wrong, but isn’t the whole idea of being in a clan that you look after each other and work together, also new players should do the tutorial and look at getting into a clan so there is thing in place but as you say it’s not full proof

    marketplace, would be a feature  working as clan market in some selected towns. in the case of resource restricted to clan only, the clan would have to make a weekly auction opened either to own nation or selected nation clans for 50% of their weekly selected resource income with a price min max between q1 and q4. Failure to sell in the auction would result in the release of 50% of the resource into the blackmarket and reduction of drop-quantity by 30% due to surplus and increased port management fees by 20% due to storage.

    marketplace would also be a place where clans of all nations can do auctions for resources, ships, missions (escort trading player, screen etc), and more. available in a few ports over the map. Resources sold in marketplace wouldn't have to be in the auction port, but should mention where pickup location is.

    Blackmarket would give meaning to surrounding ports dropping precious good and marketplace would increase exchange of resources and services at clan level.

     

    I know devs will say no, because the game is not in development anymore but in tweaking phase, and this is a lot of development. but there is so much to change in this game to make it real unique and great, it may be worth going back to development phase.

     

    Also ports in the south need precious resources and improved trading possibilities. Right now most precious woods for instance are in the eastern safezones or in shallows in the north. there is literally nothing west and south.

    Best option would be that clans get a percentage or contracts by clan members get served even there are other non clan contracts. But not like they get everything.  Let's say port produces 5goods per hour. Clan contracts get filled by 3 or 2 and not clan contracts get the remains 2-3 goods. Furthermore clan contracts can be xy times lower than the highest contract but have to be over port price in order to be served

    then they risk having no help from others when they need them such as screener's and the actual pb itself

    In terms of making ports matter more 2 things could be done

    • Removal of safe transport of upgrades Nope, carrying the good's to make them has a risk and im fine with that rather not carry the upgrade itself. 
    • Ability should be given to clans to completely lock trade in the controlled city, giving all resources produced by city to a clan. hmm prefer this over the remove of safe transport of upgrades, but it does however pose some of its own issues, but it could also provide content to, if a clan locks out a port (except friendly clans which should be added if you go this way) that clan would have to use trade ships to sell those goods so in turn making those ships very valuable so they will get an escort so that will create a lot of pvp, and will also as you say below create more RVR

    This will make at least some cities - a must have - and will create constant pressure to capture. 

    But, we have not yet learnt how to balance the following (as we are not sure it is possible)

    • This is a pvp game content should matter 2 things needed to improve this PVE content as many have said, and maybe work on some more interesting pvp content such as raids on ports 
    • This is a pvp game one side cannot lock down another nation from content by conquest, safe zones block some of this but are also necessary

    You dont need any weird artificial limiting mechanic in the game, players will make the choice.

    only thing is the victory needs to be looked at those leaks shots are broken and it should be the tanker of the 3

    I would be fine with current mechqnics if your crew would fire muskets on ships in boardingrange when prep is up tho

    It wasn’t negative at all it was a question, your tip makes it sound like you want every one should to run boarding mods and that’s it, that’s the down side of text of voice. 

     

    I actually mostly agree with your ideas tbh just not this one I feel boarding is still a valid option and you still see people getting boarded a lot in combat news you may have to work for it but it’s achievable is what I’m getting at,

     

    im fine with it being tweaked to but at the same time tweak ships that run boarding mods should have negatives on there cannons such as less accuracy and one we already have less reload 

     

    and the musket fire fire is a very good idea btw 

  9. Its still possible to board players even in fair fights which very rarely happen in NA,

    Maybe we don’t need to change the game to suit boarders maybe you need to change the way you achieve your goal of boarding ?

     

    is it really that hard to chain a player and stern camp them let’s be real here most of you sail specific hunting ships, also you could drop there hull to 30% and grape them, if you have a taller ship you can use your top guns and fire straight into there deck, 

     

    there are are ways to achieve your goals and I know most of you are very capable of doing this maybe your all being a little lazy tbh

     

    also reading combat log boarding still happens a lot

    but for the EA stage we cant maintain a pan asian server, as current maintenance times are picked for the lowest online numbers (to affect least amount of players).

    We are considering opening an eastern server after we localize into chinese, korean and japanese (which will have perfect separate maintenance times for NZ and Australia as well). 

    It would be nice to have our own server with nice ping hopefully we could get the numbers for it to work, 

    I have to ask couldn’t you use the European trader in a better way to reduce how often you do maintance?

     

    i know you wanted a player driven Econ but with the current pop it’s not going to work right now, 

    so what I’m thinking here is European trader could “restock” the ports instead of downtime you could even go crazy and restock the ports at random times 

     

    I know that makes it sound super simple but I do appreciate that would be a huge project and wouldn’t be an overnight change if it’s at all possible

    I’m fine with being a specialist boarder that’s fine but at the cost of reload speed and accuracy of there cannons.

     

    every advantage in one direction has to come with its trade offs such as being better on your cannons should weaken your boarding capabilities and vice versa

    but it at the same time you have to select to run boarding parties on your warship correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t all warships have specialist boarders already on the ship some more then others?

    also if you’re runing boarding spec not only should you reload slower but have less accuracy on your guns as your crew is dedicated to boarding not shooting cannon balls?

     

    im sorry but you can’t have your cake and eat it here I’m fine drop DD or lower it’s percentage fine but those who board ships which I see as a very Valid tactic in game have to lose there accuracy on there cannons they already have lower reload that way it becomes a skill not an easy win

    and sail damage, it's sad to watch two low level guys or just normal guys in small ships do all the hard work keeping ships in a fight and taking down sails cause they can't pen a ship or they decrew and only to have some one higher rank or bigger ship come and get the kill cause they do more hull damage even though the little guy keep a ship tagged and slow down or even removed most of the crew.  I even boarded a ship I did crew and sail damage to and didn't get the kill cause some one went next to it and did more hull damage while I was in boarding to the ship.

    Maybe they should change how the damage is calculated much like it is in pvp zones/missions so every bit of damage done from hull to crew to sails also inc modules,

     

    that way when it’s a team kill everyone gets there share of the reward?
