  1. 8 towers might be 2 too many, however my image certainly was not to scale. I believe cap circle should be large enough that a SOL cannot fire from one side to the other accurately. Include that one or more of the zones is shallow, which would prevent bigger ships to enter. So by scale the cap zones would be a pretty good distance apart. These attribute would allow your main fleet to head toward the defenders while trying to set up a blocked for the shallow, faster ships to flank onto the cap, even while allowing for another flanking group to perhaps sneak in through the far side. I believe ports should be own by the defended, who should have the advantage, much like Assault battle mode in WoT. But anyway, this was just my idead.
  2. This is how PBs should be set up, imo, with 1 or more of the capture circles being shallow, based on whether the port is a shallow or deep port. Maybe even making ports be 3 levels of depth, and the 3 capture points being each depth...
  3. While I like the idea of capture zones, providing they are far enough away from each other and pertinent locations to the port themselves, I personally felt the only changes needed were that Towers were not objectives, and that Shallow hulled ships should've been allowed in all ports, and Deep hulled ships remain as is only allowed in deep ports. There's no reason to disallow 1st rate ships in deep ports, no matter Regional Cap or not. IMO..just keep it as close to real life as possible, in regards to which ships can port and battle where. And here is my suggested port diagram. Arg..nm..what image extensions are allowed here? Where does anyone store pix that they can include in comments for this forum? Here's a link to the pic www.flickr.com/photos/142751848@N08/26541302190/in/shares-722sR0/
  4. Raiding the port opens it for the attack. During the raid you don't capture the port but steal some goods from it and maybe weaken its defenses - destroy forts. Raids can be done any time. From whom are these goods(possilbe gold) taken from? Unaccounted NPC port production? Or from players who have outposts and buildings there? The latter would be a nice dynamic. And how much goods are we talking? More than most warships can carry in the hold? so that we would be inclined to include LGVs in the raid? Or does it auto transfer to whomever participated in the raid?
  5. Setting up camp on PvP. We've developed a nice building and trading system on PvE for crafting and are currently setting up this organization on PvP 2 USA.

  7. Total Oblivion Trading Co. participates in PvP, Port Battles, and crafts on the PvP 2 USA server. Our focus is on all group activities, including missions, to help our shipmates gain an abundance of booty and experience for our PvP adventures. We welcome all sailors of any rank to join TOTC as we focus on honing your skills. We have our Fleet Forum with plenty of helpful information from multiple sites and a full-time TS server. 8. Many clans, as ours, [TOTC] Total Oblivion Trading Co, don't require mic use (unless helpful in battle), but at least to be able to hear commands. It takes too much distracted effort to type commands in the midst of battle.
  9. I'd lie to see the Port Docking Radius be larger. I shouldn't have to sail right up on the docks (practically) before I have the option to port.
  10. I'm reading your site now, rather than asking you a bunch of questions I'm certain I'd find answers to on there. TY for the offer, mate. BTW, I've gotten better with my LD ball shot in the last cpl battles...takes time. heh
  11. Update: So, I've been playing on PvE USA1 beta to learn the ropes. I have an understanding of battle, yet I can't execute long range ball very well. I get pretty wrecked early on during battles. Haven't lost yet, so that's a plus. I'm also slow in the manual sail controls, however, I've been stuck in wind only in the first battle. I've yet to participate in any of the Large or Small battles. I don't believe I'd be much help with standard ship, nor the two I've captured. I'd like to be a major part in these though. I'm taking a liking to the trading quite much. Trying to learn crafting in the most efficient way, but slow at that. In fact, I've not crafted anything yet, as I don't see anyone needing the little things I can craft atm. It's something I'd like to be helpful to a clan with (considering I am Blackthorne, an Englishman sailing for the Dutch East Indies Co, heh.) I hope my resume and intent sparks some interest with clans. Please contact me if interested. Ty
  12. I'd like to see in the Shop screen a comparison of your selection to what you currently have, much like in other games. Say I want new cannons, when I click it, it should show what I currently have on ship with + or - the dmg comparison, preferably in green for increase or red for decrease. So....if, I'm buying a new cannon it should show similar to below where the green and red numbers would reflect what i gain or lose compaired to what i currently have. Cannon: Class one Caliber: 42 (+10) Base Damage: 50 (+12) Reload: 65 seconds (-8) etcetcetc for all things in shop, even ships for speed, turning radius, etc
  13. Ahoy, captains! I am a complete greenhorn to this game, looking for a welcoming clan to join before I begin. In fact, I've just now finished the download after watching many helpful tutorial videos from current players. It seems joining up is a necessity for beginners who wish to do well. And so, I offer my services. I've not yet chosen a server because I'm unsure if I would be able to change servers to join a clan on their primary server. Therefore, I've also not chosen a nationality. These decisions will be based on which server your clan resides. Below is a briefing about my experiences. I've played a variety of games involving clans (since Quake days), and some that don't. Some related to the sailing age: Sid Meier's Pirates, Uncharted Waters, AC: Black Flag. However, my last couple years have been spent growing our Total Oblivion clan for World of Tanks and other WG games. I previously commanded -T-O- for 2 and a half years. At which time I gave the reigns up to build and command our second clan, and then 6 months later our third clan. We've grown our community and alliances into top 30 competitive clans for WG. I personally manage our 3-clan TS and forum, primarily by myself. (BTW, if you play Tanks, Ships, Planes, please feel free to contact me if you are interested in joining a clan there.) I make mention all the above simply to inform you of what I might be able to offer your clan. I am a dedicated, smart worker. I fully understand beginning at the bottom and playing the supporting roles for awhile. I will do as much as I can to help your clan community thrive. Do understand, to be honest, that our Oblivion clanmates have some interest in this game and possibly creating a clan of our own. However, this will be ages from now. We, of course, would remain loyal to any clan making us feel welcome as we learn the ropes in NA. If you feel I would be a helpful addition to your clan, please message me. I'll be available for PvP 1 or 2 USA. Thank you for your consideration, Cpt Blackthorne
