  1. Would these provisions be tied into certain national resources (iberian meat, indian tea, danish beer, etc)? If so could they potentially give a bonus if provisions are eventually tied to morale? Also, are there any plans to make powder a craftable upgrade with the different levels of quality potentially affecting range/penetration (velocity of the projectile)?

  2. We need more trafalgars damnit! On a side note, this game is much more enjoyable if you dont get your panties in a bunch over the little stuff (ports and rvr) and you stop caring about duras. Ships are a commodity to be liquidated for game enjoyment, not to be stashed away. Large fleet engagements are what keeps me playing outnumbered or not. Have no pity for fair weather players who cut and run when the chips are down and they face the possibility of defeat (clowns who "leave" because of pirates). The funniest part is il bet every one of the players making those posts about the devs not listening and the game is dead are the same people who had nothing but praise for the game and devs and preached patience and fortitude 4 months ago. You should understand by now that getting pushed back to a few ports makes the game a thousand times more fun and guarantees constant action. I also understand taking a break, sometimes its necessary, but you don't need to leave a goodbye post shitting on the devs and what they are trying to do because you will be forgotten in a week probably less. This post isn't aimed at anyone in particular just a "bored asf at work rant".

  3. The last part was an over-reaction for sure. I just wish the diplo patch would be able fix all the bad blood thats been simmering since january. RvR diplo is far too messed up as it currently stands to get anything meaningful done and maintain whatever agreements are founded. I guess im just frustrated because geographically the US and Spain could have been buddies. It could have been alot more fun. I do feel compelled to add that the ports on the west coast of florida were taken in a way very similar to the spanish ports in the Yucatan region capped by the British and then handed to the US around a month ago

  4. This is what really gets me... We had an agreement with the Spanish Council. Borders are established, lines are drawn and respected. Open world PVP combat only, everything was fine.

Spain sits back and watches as the Pirates take US ports, They then say "We no longer respect our agreement with the US", and charge in to take the ports captured by Mario and his Toadstools. Some clans from the US then start taking back ports that were lost and Spain says "Hey, stop attacking our ports that we took from the pirates that they took from you that we agreed were yours!" And the US are the aggressors? My suggestion is that you depart hastily in the direction of shove, and off (I would love to use more colourful words here).

Spanish players have been crying for so long about how people keep stabbing them in the back. The US never has, and never will stab a mutual partner in the back. The Spanish nation has just lost one of their few neighbours that were actively looking out for them (as you full know from our discussion).

Seen this before, might as well start re-positioning ships and prepping for total war with the US again because of a few people that like seeing green/yellow dots on the map. I welcome the pvp dont get me wrong but why does it always come with the infantile finger pointing from both sides. This whole thread was a waste of time because, as usual its the Spanish nation as a whole that is at fault, even those of us operating in different theaters of war. Time to mobilize.

  5. As I understand it. Those trash-talking US players are now Pirates

Some, yes. Many, no. Ive seen it from just about every major clan over there. It doesnt really affect me because im whiter than a paper plate in a snowstorm in january but i feel bad for alot of my friends who are actually Spanish. The part that really pisses me off about it though is that some of the same people who say that shit end up preaching about toxic gameplay and whining about all the terrible things SORRY says.

  6. Id be far more inclined to agree with helping the US if i hadn't been called a beaner like 50 times in the last 4 months by US players who with the exception of a few pre-EA players all talked boatloads of trash while ganking 5 on 1. When you factor in this experience for most Spanish players, peace between us seems justifiably unattainable whether we are winning or not. Myself and quite a few others have no particular love for the pirates but due in large part to the conduct of US players both in-game and on the forums they are the lesser of two evils in this situation. I hope this changes in the future.

  7. Dear Otto

The saddest part of all is that your clan, your faction and the nations that suckle at your teet by extension have hijacked a game that the devs clearly worked so hard to create and as it continues the game hemorages once dedicated players like a foul head wound on a daily basis. I mean im gonna continue to play and do my thing as is my clan but it is only your own content you are hurting, seriously how long do you think the exhiled Gulfies of WBK can hold up this Guerilla war they ve locked into? Im tipping not much longer

P.S - and Ive watched your clans EVE online strategy video and all I can say is

Maybe you should have waited to full release before execute such strategies, you know like maybe when there was a larger more dedicated player base and a game with a stronger foundation

    Regards

No one has pity for whine-asses. If you really think that you can get pity and help from the devs by refusing to fight back then i guess thats just a reflection of your personal demeanor. Trust me it didn't work for Spain. And there is no excuse for not fighting in regular deep water ports anymore, 4th rates are not hard to acquire, especially with addition of smuggling res. If the devs cave to all the weenies trying to break the game to force un-thought out/ hurried changes, it will set a very dangerous precedent. I don't think the devs are that short-sighted. Get your shit together or quit till you get your way. Honestly the pirate zerg just looks like one big mass of pvp oppurtunity on an epic scale making its way across the map. Im trying to decide what nation i make my stand with....

  8. Would be nice to know if it began as a mutual agreement or an ultimatum. Who were the people who sat at the table on this one? (for future references' sake and national transparency) people who make these "treaties" that affect the gameplay of hundreds of players need to take the responsibility to identify themselves and assume the basic responsibilities of leadership.

Im all for solidarity with the french, always have been.

  9. Someone proposed before, to battle out the control for ports with more then one fight. I like this, because no timezone gets disadvantaged.

I would keep the current flag system with the current timers. But instead of one big port-battle started in the open world introduce a button in the mission screen where it can be fought out in a best of three series by everybody who wants to join.

The button is triggered by bringing the flag to the port as usual and stays up for 48hrs.

You could have the members of whatever kind of "Parliament" we end up with set a required ship lineup to cut down on trolls and make sure the lineup is going to be competent. For a best of three you could have one battle for shallow draft, one for frigates, and one for ships of the line. These battles could be separated by a few hours or more to ensure more people have a chance to participate. I like the idea of access to the PBs in mission tab as large fleets preventing access to a smaller nation could become a large problem. To prevent complacencey and promote ow movement and the inherent risks that come with it, only make the pb tab available in uncontested national ports in the same region as the contested port.

  10. Gotta work out a way where port battles can go for 24hrs so all time zones can have a crack for the relavent nations. None of these time zone chenanigans!

Over the 24hr period perhaps run a tally for each battle and add the points up at the end - with a finale in the starting time zone. Big boom or something.

I agree, this would give more people in a given nation time to participate. The more people who can participate, the more invested the national population becomes in a war. I would lean towards an outline such as Babble's post. Just look at Olav's Trafalgars, people know when and where and the turnout is great. The more turnout you get the more fun the battle(s). Either way i think this update will be a game-changer for the better either way you go about it.

  11. I think this would be fun as hell, but in the long run national civil wars (which will inevitably happen) will create flaming, pissed of ppl on an epic scale, not to mention form irreparable rifts between player groups of the same nation. This would end up bolstering the ranks of the pirates sooner than later. On that note, im down to test it and watch the Caribbean burn.
