  1. Im really happy this is happening. I wish you all enormous amounts of fun, I get separated from my PC on the 18th NOOOOOOO! A month or maybe 2 without it and just a day before the release. *cries* And I so wanted to be the first who can make surprises....
  2. Nice find, Ill put them in and test it out *edit: added a profile with the sounds to the downloads. Just copy the sound folder and it should work.*
  3. Although its REALLY dramatic with very annoying violins, this documentary has a good bit (13.35-20.14) about wood in ship building and a smaller scale live fire test.
  4. The movie is wonderfully detailed, lots of tiny things from the books. Id think it would benefit more from a TV show format. Just like game of thrones, the source material is too extensive for a movie or a series of them
  5. I have updated the downloads with the newer versions. Have fun!
  6. That was the first attempt, but in OW it locked the rudder to the last key pressed. I have fixed it in the latest version I have. I will send you the script and instructions Ive got about 6 guys who said they will do it and have already recieved their scripts, waiting for them to finish I prefer an english voice, but, since this isnt just for me, the more voices the better Check your inbox. Im glad youre excited, this one sadly isnt as good as the version im working on now. Ill see if I can put that up in a few days. No promises, busy at the moment.
  7. This is just a hobby project, I dont actually intend on spending money on it. After its done it will be free to download for everyone
  8. After I write up the script I will send it with basic instructions to all interested
  9. Hello there Captains! I am lookin into making a basic profile and voice pack for VoiceAttack, similar to the ones in Elite Dangerous. What I would most like is British voices, a few different accents if possible. But any others are welcome of course. We do have different nations in this game after all. If you have a decent microphone and half an hour of spare time please contact me
  10. Hello again Captains! I would like to make voice packs for this aswell. Anyone who owns a half decent microphone and is willing to read a bunch of naval phrases for 10 minutes please contact me. If you know a guy, who knows a guy, link them to this aswell. Any language, any accent. What Id like most is a few different british ones. A posh one, a piratey one, things like that. Also for the other nations. Reallly anyone feel free to contact me and we will sort it out
  11. Ahoy Captains! Have you ever felt that keyboards and all the button pressing break your immersion? Do you want a better* way of controling your vessel? Do you like giving out commands? Well look no further! *controling the ship using voice commands is not actually better at all If you are a proud owner of a program called VoiceAttack this is the post for you. If you do not own it, then this has no value for you, as you can not use it with the trial version. I have compiled a profile for Voice Attack that will allow you to control your ship using only your voice. It has roughly 150 commands in all, most with multiple order options. I do implore you to go through them and check your key bindings. The commands to fire port and starboard battery, the command to fire all guns and any commands that affect manual sail control will most likey not work until you rebind them to your control scheme. I am eager to hear your comments and suggestions on how to improve it. Again, read through the commands and check the key bindings. Obviously you can change it to better suit your style of command, but atleast this will give you a good platform. If you find any mistakes, errors, bugs, please let me know. Downloads: -Without TextToSpeech 9.72 Beta Version This is a WIP profile for 9.72. If you test it out be sure to let me know what is wrong. Because the game remembers sail speed values, what guns are loaded with what and what the crew is focused on it is recommended that before every battle you issue the command: Reset Values. This will ensure your profile and game are synced up. Best of luck and fair winds! *test of the profile - VIDEO, Video/TWsounds* If you're feeling really grateful and you want to thank me and the fellas recording voices with more than words: Donate *I also accept digital hugs.
  12. If thats the case with faster broadsides, well, tought titties. Wont stop me from playing
  13. What I would very much appreciate is, in a similar maner to selecting rolling fire selection, the option to determine how fast the broadside will be, simultaneous, almost simultaneous, fast, as it is now and slow. No need for very slow as you can press space bar at your own leisure to get that effect. This is to ensure you maintain your ships speed and get the maximum amount of hits on a smaller target up close, when stern raking for example. Also (almost) simultaneous broadsides would be effing cool. Obviously almost impossible due to the amount of crew coordination that would require. tl;dr: Broadside rate of fire options to help maintain maximum ship speed when presented with a difficult target.
  14. I named my fir Connie Old Buttersides. A 3rd rate needed to only look at me and Id lose half my side. So we all agree that Teak is a wood with no modifiers at all?
  15. Fishing and hunting would complement exploration (for when its in) nicely. Whilst your exploring mayan ruins the watch that stayed on the ship can fish and the guards with the boats on the shore could hunt turtles Atleast to an extent that it covers the time you spent exploring. Ports are near enough eachother that getting supplies shouldnt be too big of a problem unless you take 3 ham&cheese sandwiches and one redbull.
  16. The gold recieved from battles and trading could be adjusted to accomodate this.
  17. +1 Victualing should be an important part, cant fight with a full hold and judging how long your cruise will be would be a nice challenge. Also the threat of mutiny seems exciting. The ship turning into an AI pirate and you lose a durrability. Capturing the ship back could restore the durrability maybe? I would propose a general "supplies" item, searching around ports for salted pork and grog instead of extra dried pease and beef would be a big hassle and if a port runs out it prevents playing the game. Just general supplies that cant really run out in the port. I think it could be very interesting.
