  1. Indeed. You could also have different profiles for Portbattles to add to that, like e.g. Profile one: 3x 1st rates, 3x 2nd rates, 10x 3rd rates, etc.
  2. PFK and DSL deserve way more respect than you ill-using their clannames for your own personal feuds and ventilating your disgrunt for DAS/BOAT. Just keep your malicious attempts of spewing rubbish aimed at us please ... or personally at me/Iron for all I care. Nevertheless, we are very appreciative that you kept your contribution to this war by focussing on the forums instead of the seas.
  3. I don't think a lot of people disagree with you that the Port Battle mechanics should be considered "work in progress" by the devs. There have been many suggestions all over these forums to be considered as improvements. However, the game works like it works right now. One can set up entire discussions about how it all should work according to their own perceptions, but in the end the devs should make the game they want to make and players should decide if they want to play it (even now in its current EA state). I consider the current playround a great contribution towards new insights for the developers to make this the best gaming experience they can. If I may add to the questionnaire in little jest:
  4. There has been much courtesy by French captains, and in that I hold you in highest regard, monsieur Tabernac. Jests, some fun jokes a few word benders, all in good spirit and as gracious as the battles fought. It is when others, that choose not to play a part in this theatre of war for reasons of reproach, still spews to diminish those efforts by all those captains at this war front. It makes me cranky. super cranky. The Dutch fought hard, the Danes were feriocious and efficient, the Swedes were valiant and the French fought like untamed lions. Opportunity was taken. Luck, skill and coin were used by all involved. Everyone has put their back in it. The coin was flipped and fell our way this time, as it fell in the other direction many times. I will remain grateful to be part of it, winning or losing; I'm sure many captains in our nations will feel the same way. Salute and with utmost respect. o7
  5. Contre Amiral Grim, for the last few weeks every time I see a big French fleet sailing into our fleet I have the tendency to find me the "Brace" button to press it. I hope we can "ping-pong" ports for a long time to come against such fierce captains.
  6. Liars, sycophants, simpletons! Scoundrels those Dutch are, I say you!
  7. Don't have to. There is no legal system in the game; so a word like sycophant wouldn't stick. Unless you do a reverse-sycophant trick on us all that kicking you would be justified? But we are not clever enough to see through those things anyways ... simple guys remember, you said so yourself. We don't want to fall out of character here in these roleplay threads.
  8. I think you have shown us all what sycophant means now. Back on topic .... where is the Black Saturday thread?
  9. You were able to leave because there are no mechanics in the game to kick people.
  10. I already handpicked a few good names for you to introduce yourselves to the British captains: Humphreys Bickford-Smith Trickelbank Popplewell Pennelegion
  11. Yes, but the open world simulation is speeded up artificially though. It takes a few minutes to walk my armies from Scandinavia towards the northern parts of Italy in Europa Universalis for example. Why should switching ports be different in a speeded up simulator game like Naval Action? I think the question should be if the current system is enjoyable enough for the players. Judging by by the former French thread of the Trinidad-Tobago conquests and this thread about he Danish steamroller it seems quite amusing when you are on the winning side of things. Face it, no one likes to loose, especially not in a game. We can only take it like a real man/woman and hope that the devs see opportunities to make it even more fun for us all in the future.
  12. A pirate's world of Black and White. If only you could see the world in Orange.
  13. Oh, and about fair fights, you can only call them unfair if you actually fight them: Chad knows why: https://youtu.be/br9C73Q9I8U
  14. To be honest, we sailed with about 7 smaller ships into a lone French 3rd rate yesterday evening just west of Pampatar and it took all our sailing skills to remain in his stern to not take its fulll broadsides and evade eachother doing it. The battleratings were about even and it was only until we finally cut off one of his masts and got his crew down to cripple his efficiency, we could start moving in and keep our hulls mostly under its guns. Now one could say it is a 7 to 1, that it is unfair, but one could also say it was a fair fight without much battlerating difference. Whatever one would say, it remains questionable tactics to sail a 3rd rate unescorted when there are many enemy ships around. Honeypots attract bears. Always.
  15. Our spais also took pictures of EDR captains at dinner in Fort-Royal during the Dutch/Danish push today. This was confirmation enough for us to go ahead as your numbers were weakened considerably.
  16. Good post. It is a harsh day for you guys, indeed. We had our share before. I know how it feels. You guys should however screen your teammates within EDR and Marine Francaise-SLRN a bit more though and forbid them to drink too much. That creates loose lips on your tactics. Contrary to popular believe we are not precognitive psychics, you know? Spais 'r' killers.
  17. I just joined the Danish Steamroller club.
  18. The battlerating is a number that shows the relative strength of your ships in the battle. This is done for the other side also. You will see it in the open world engagement markers as BR.
  19. We just upgraded our brand new Admiralty maps with help from a great cartographer from EDR. Thanks mate! We added a little of our own touch to it and they've been handed out to all of our captains now.
  20. I agree. Asymmetrical fights are only fair in love and war and last time I checked we were not married, right? Or did you propose to me, Francis?
  21. We never will know what worse luck our bad luck saved us from on that day.
