land ships and midnight distractions

Recommended Posts

The game has awesome graphics.  However two pet peeves:

Occasionally, AI ships will sail through land masses.  Don't know if this a result of how their routes are plotted or whether there is no programming to prevent.  Either way its distracting.

Night falls suddenly.  Rather than the gradual shifting of hues and light which occur throughout the day, when midnight falls, there is a sudden change in coloration and lighting--plus sometimes there a visible blocks of the screen that do not change at the same time as others.

The AI ship through the land is a long-standing bug, the transition to night is because the day is speeded up in OW as are the ship sailing times; if you had real-time sailing you'd be at sea for days or weeks.

And in the Caribbean, the transition to night from day is quick about an hour or so.

in the caribbean the transition is quicker (sicne they near the tropic line), the actual odd thing is that in game night falls suddenly at 11.00 PM and ends at 2.30 AM. As if the caribbean was Iceland in summer. Plus, no moon detected.

Longer nights with moonlight to compensate the darkness would be much better (in terms of immersion) than this artificial short and moonless night..
