This is a collection of posted Suggestions to make the lifes of the developers easier.

The list can also be used to check what ideas have already been suggested.

 

 

Customisation

 

  • Customisation of Ships

    • Different Paintjobs for the Hull

    • Change and customise Sails

      • Add Coat of Arms

      • Change Sail Type (Wool, Linen …)

      • Change Colour (White, Withered, Black, Red …)

 

Combat

 


  • Visible Reload Animations

  • Visible Gun Recoil

  • Passive Marines

  • Animated Boarding

  • Choose prefered ammunition / Change loaded ammunition before the battle

  • Coastlines / Islands in Battles

 

UI / Overlay

 


  • Moveable Compass on the Map

  • “Age of Sail” Themed Overlay

  • Make Admiralty Orders more visible

  • Shipwrecks, Debris and Cargo floating on Open Seas

    • Ships that collide with debris will take damage

    • Cargo can be collected when sailing by

  • Make a Europe Map that can be visited

    • Be able to visit Europe via Teleportation

    • Be able to visit Europe by sailing

  • Be able to sail without compression / combat in a private instance (Just for the sake of sailing)

  • Be able to use the Spyglass in Open Waters

 

Trading

 

  • XP gain through trading

    • Trading for a certain amount of Gold yields a certain amount of XP

  • Trading Rank

    • Make the price of contracts depend on the trading rank

    • Make the amount of contracts depend on the trading rank

    • A higher trading rank yields higher profits

  • Trade Mission

  • Ship’s log that tracks the commodities available and their prices in the ports you visit.

 

Ambience

 

  • Wildlife (Seagulls, Whales, Fish ...)

  • Sound of Wildlife

  • Shanties

  • Lanterns lit at night

 

Economy

 

  • There should be multiple methods for acquiring wealth so the game doesn’t just become (build ships to make money)

    • Trading

      • Improved “regional” market systems that allow traders to better plan trading trips, etc.

      • Limitations on NPC trade routes/effectiveness.

        • NPCs should do things players think are boring, but players should be able to do them more efficiently

    • Harvest

      • Whaling/fishing

      • Exotic wares (spices, artifacts, animal hides, etc.) - exploration I guess

      • Outpost resource gathering

    • Production

      • Producing in-game items

 

Factions

 

  • Pirates

    • Raiding of Ports

    • Excluding of certain Rates in Pirate crafting (1st Rate, 2nd …)

      • Those rates would need to be captured

Any First person elements probably wont be part of the game just so you know

 

The UI will come later

 

customization id expect to come later, however i hope it will be heavily limited and only presets to be used

 

you can allready load different ammo before the battle start, if you join an allready ongoing battle this doesnt count

 

coastlines will come, the devs allready stated that pretty mcuh with their what to focus on next poll, same goes for production buildings and crew management

 

animations are limited right now as the game is allready demanding enough as it is, might come sometime distant future though i am guessing

 

storms are in game... just not battle instances i dont know why though as in sea trials we had working storm battles.

 

devs allready stated opening and closing of gun ports wont be a possibility as it is too resource intensive( a while ago so cant find the link) however gun ports will in the future be closed on the open world

 

lanterns on the stern of ship are allready lit at night on most ships

 

Devs allready said whaling and slave trade wont be in game due to possible contreversy(i know you didnt mention slavery, but il tag that on there)

 

raiding will be implemented in the future, it will be available to all nations

 

and lastly i personally dont think that pirates should be restricted what ships they sail

 

 

 

note: i am by no means a dev or a mod, but what i have compiled here is just a couple of comments which i have gathered from the devs and what i have experianced in the game over the about 1 year that i have been part of this game.

Hey.. I guess by movable compass you mean to drag the compass elswere on the screen?

I personally, like many of my guildmates would like to have a compass that rotates with the players view.

That way you could easily tell your mates in wich direction you have spotted a ship/enemy/landmass..
