Kill Mails and Kill Boards

Recommended Posts

Can we get kill mails like we had in Eve so we can start to track Kills etc.  Show damage done and players involved in kills something to that effect.  Would love to see a killboard for Naval Action.

This is something I don't want. You'll get guys wanting to tag a ship just to be in on "the kill" so they can swing their e-peen around on the forums. Guys horning into one of the precious 25 slots in port battles, jumping into your AI battles, killing a ship when you want to cap it,. etc.

Killboards kinda suck. You know if the people you fight with or against are good, why do you need arbitrary statistics to tell you that other than for waving epeen around and calling other people noobs?

Even in EVE they sucked. It was boring explaining to idiots that 'no, player X doesn't suck.. they are a recon specialist who has set up more kills than you will ever get and they're invaluable to our corp. Unlike you.'

Completely disagree,

Killboards are not only used to wave arround your epeen and/or calling other people noobs, although some people do it in EvE that shouldnt deny the rest of the game the information they provide. We should not be denied an invaluable tool only because certain individuals like to use it only to wave arround their epeen.

I think killboards are going to be an excellent addition to NA because people can be able to keep track of but not limited to: Kills,Losses,Ship fittings, Statistics for individual players and for clans as a whole, damage statistics for each individual type (mast/armor/side damage) and each individual player involved on said kill + other things I cant remmember right now.

This is a great tool for the players so they can look over their own losses for example and improve on those statistics provided, but also a tool for the developers who can use it to keep track of how different ships/balancing and so on looks like in raw numbers from raw encounters in NA, which may differ from their own internal testing.

Would love to hear from the Developers if they are going to consider this in the future or if they have decided against it.

Americans love statistics.

For me, i have been at too many "ladders" and killboards all my gaming life.

I want to play for a "faction" and not climb a "killboard".

Please, not...

Although I understand what you mean, I believe the tool should be there for players who want to use it, if you do not want to use it then its all up to you, different people prefer to play the game different ways and if you dont want to climb any ladders or follow up on your statistics then thats all up to you, it shouldnt limit the rest of us who want this implemented.

Agreed, if it can be implemented that I can deactivate this feature.

It´d effect my gameplay.

At too many games did I play only for the "killboard".

Perhaps they could make it so it can be deactivated.

I understand your frustration, I played EvE for years and was in an alliance where kill counts and killboard efficiency etc meant alot, but I still stand by that this is going to be an excellent tool for a game with permanent consequences like NA (e.g loosing the last durability on your ship).

I want this purely for the fitting evolution that would occur when we have access to loss mails. In EVE, going and seeing how someone you were fighting was fit can tell you a lot about what happened in the battle that you otherwise could not have learned.

I agree Kill Mails and Kill boards are one of teh most Toxic things that most games have... Take your own screen shots and keep your own if it means that much to you....
