More NPCs in PvP

Just started this game on Thursday and I've tried to explore more of the map, than stay close to my capital. Things I've noticed, most PvP action happens around capitals (or close to them) but the farther out you get, the less people you see. It'd be nice if we could see more NPC activity at those distant ports (from enemy fleets scouting your coastline to traders). I'm down by Key West often, where it's a jumping off point to Habana, but it's still quite (players and NPC). If most players aren't going to venture far from their capital, having more NPCs in those areas will really make someone want to explore more of the map. I'd love to go up to New Orleans or cross the ocean, but knowing it could be an hour journy and all I'll see is a Trader with contraband, sort of makes me rethink it. 

 

So in the end. more NPCs!

The idea of variable areas in game may be worth considering.

NPC traders areas = Higher number of fat NPCs with/without escorts. Lower XP and combat gold.

PVP areas = increased XP for PVP battles.

Of course these areas could be integrated with the larger strategic game. If NPCs are supplying ports.
