La Marine Nationale offers assistance with acquiring ships as your fame and fortune attracts more crew members. However, all captains who sign on with the navy are expected to sail with the fleet and work well with the squadron. This does not necessarily mean you must sail with a squadron all the time, however.

Captains are also highly encouraged to find ways to make money, so they can support the war effort.
