  1. I wonder, are alliances so fragile or Admirals so vindictive over infantile slight,

That treaties are reneged and islands ceded in construct of your countrymen's plight?

Perhaps it is the waning of power that holds these grand foreign men loyal to another,

Innocent of all injustice, for their eyes doth thy cover.

Observe the High Ground hath been deserted on principle of puerile and sophomoric consideration,

There won't be found a man of conscience who dare hold them in regards for imitation.

This I consider to be behind a sheer veil, while the former stands as a blatant "j'accuse."

I thank you for the effort you put into your grandiose riposte... but words do not defend Ports sir, firepower and ships do!

  2.

And there are a few comments from people who do not trust the relationship between SLRN and SLMFr.  Yes, they could have been termed differently and nicer (no "lapdog" comments), but it isn't that different from what we see from others.  While I myself trust Grim, others have privately raised the issue of how much are YOU, Charles Caldwell, able to view their forums and internal communications?    TDA has first hand experience with you violating ambassador access.  What access do you have on Sea Lords?  Do you have access to their forums?  What assurance is there that they are indeed not in league with SLRN?  Yes, Jones gave his long post.  But can we trust him?

As SLVF forum Admin and Web designer, I create and monitor all forums... however we in the SLVF follow a strict code of Conduct. It has never in our 12 year history ever been abused!

And as for your forum, I only accessed forums I was given permission to view along with any other Ambassador group member...Im no hacker.  If I viewed forums not allowed or restricted, I'd question the competence of your forum Admin. ;)

With regard to your stance with the SLMFr, that's all your doing and your decision to trust or not, I've just been an amused observer.

  3. Never said it wasn't a loss, It was, I said the pirates never showed any sign of caring.  The people in the battle with me just went with it, and from the chat outside, their wasn't much effort.  Compared to other PBs I have been a part of, their simply wasn't any motivation.

I'd walk away sir, its looking increasingly like sour grapes. ;)

  4. Chustler Sir,

Friends and respect are earnt... and friends are not gained with cheap propaganda and belittlement. Today I have read nothing but venom coming from the USN towards the French, yet on the other hand you clearly state your desire for friends in the region.

How do you think this is possible if you do nothing other than fill the boards with cheap shots and bemoan every Fleet that borders you?

You also constantly reference us the SLRN, yet with your own admission we have not yet come to blows. Its almost bordering infatuation! ;)

..... I can assure you we have no influence over the respected SLMFr, they are independent and masters of their own destiny. Yet you have failed to show them any respect, even calling them "Lapdogs of the British", I mean please. You in the USN seem to have the impressive ability to drive wedges between most the Fleets in game, without any need for outside help. I'd like to say carry on the good work, but with the common threat of the Pirate scourge we may have to be unlikely partners in the future.

If I can give any advice sir, build bridges, dont knock them down! ;)

  5. "Lapdogs of the British Royal Navy"  Im sure I've read somewhere on this forum that the US desire friends in the region... can I give you a small pointer in diplomacy, dont insult the very people you wish to build friendship with! ;)

  6. As far as I'm aware (I was unable to participate), Denmark-Norway was attacked by the Spanish (Samana), the Brits (Higuey), the French, and the Swedes (Spanish Town and The Settlement) on the same evening. We only lost our western-most port (Samana), which was left undefended, to the Spanish. Then the Dano-Norwegian and Russian fleets counter-attacked at about ten/half past ten CET (which is hardly a night-attack), splitting up and assaulting Marigot and Fort Baai at the same time. We managed to capture Fort Baai, but were driven back from Marigot. It is true though, from what I've heard, that we were driven back with some loss, but considering the amount of battles fought on that evening, one loss and one gain can hardly be considered a bad effort.

I feel the Danes did a cracking job at defence, well done, clearly prepared & organised.

With regard to our attack on Higuey, we lost out to a 0.1 BR difference and couldn't catch your ships in the ring. We dont blame the tactic perhaps more the Brit player who jumped in undermanned and bringing 2 Lynxs. That costs us.

  7. I think two things impressed me this day, firstly the huge numbers of the Pirates.... and most importantly how every British Captain flocked to the banner when the call went out!

Dont quote me, but 3 simultaneous battles all full, with many more ships waiting outside. Probably some 120+ ships, truly a Naval spectacle!

The Combined forces of all British Clans and players helped drive off a 3 Port attack by the villainous Black scourge!

Not one of their carefully crafted attacks succeeded, Great Britain won the day!

    - Personal note: It was a real joy to partake in such an event, generally all involved both Pirate and British player alike spoke highly of that day (though some Pirates were heard muttering expletives). Lets all keep it this way and give respect where respect is due.

Thank you Pirates for an entertaining evening. - FAdm Charles Caldwell SLRN

  9. Gentlemen,

I can only assume that this misguided letter is a result of this "Honourable" Admirals recent arrival from Portsmouth...

The world they left behind in London, is not the world or theatre of war that they clearly imagined. Old enemies are now friends, once friends are now enemies. The politics of this region moves apace, I am sure that this young Admiral will soon learn the bitter truth of misguided loyalties.

I hold no grudges for this poorly veiled insult, I have a job to do and I will do it to the best of my and my Fleet's ability.

I wish the Officers of the West Indies Squadron all the very best in their efforts to recapture the Ports that were exchanged freely. I also wish them luck in their cementing of the alliance with the Danes who as we speak creep ever closer to His Majesty's Island of Jamaica.

Gentlemen, His Majesty, God save the KING!
