  1. Honestly i'm probably gonna drop entirely soon. Can't bother to care anymore. Before that i thought the devs were just totally silent everywhere, but its not even just that. They answer on the Steam Forums. How hello kittying ridiculous is that. If any marketing/communication guy reads this. You should be ashamed. You can't even update people on your own forums but you got time to damage control the steam forums for whenever you want more money for this underbaked, overhyped game. Its not just we're being ignored entirely, we're being selectively and purposefully ignored, with whatever info we can get having to be gleamed from Steam. I can't care at all anymore. To the actual devs and programmers that work on this game, you've done an amazing job. I can't thank you enough for what you did manage to give us. I've been here since 2019 and now i finally understand its very probably not your fault, its the fault of those over you and those that communicate with you. I wish you all the best in the future, and i hope that whatever happens you can find a better job somewhere else, or at least gain better conditions. To any marketing/producer guy that reads this: Get bent. You're a shame on this industry. I hope whenever blame has to be placed after this game's disappointing performance it rightfully falls on you, and not on people under you as it does for so many other development studios Seeing a studio fall so far from being a promising indie with amazing games to another early access factory grindfest meant to milk whatever consumer base they gained with goodwill is disgusting and i hope it either reforms and finally finds its way or fails entirely so better indies can take the space you've wasted.
  2. They don't care. Whatever they do next, they still let this happen
  3. What pisses me off the most is they answer in the steam forums sometime but their own forums are abandoned.
  4. As long as we actually get them i'm fine with either, but i doubt we will
  5. We'll lucky to even get the campaign and officers this year
  6. Tbh its just a last ditch attempt on my part. If nothing comes of it i'll just drop this game entirely and stop coming to the forums
  7. Seriously, please. It is so needed right now to maintain momentum and a healthy community around the game. Any info would do, just do a weekly thing where you say you're still working on it, hell, do a monthly cleanup/announcement of what you're working on with some pics. Take ten or fifteen minute every month to keep everyone updated. Don't fall further into bad community behavior. Everyone's getting tired of it, hell even Stealth17 is getting tired of it. You can't have your community and your biggest source of advertisement publically keep saying that kind of thing. So just take ten minutes of your day to announce a monthly roundup of info and then every month ten more minutes to get it done. Its really not that hard and it'll placate everyone
  8. How sad is it that everyone here resigned themselves to the fact this is the only thing we'll ever get, that it'll keep along that course, or that "i got my money's worth already so its ok if it dies"
  9. Keep our expectations in check? This is quite literally a pre-alpha. We're not even at alpha stage yet. If they already can't change, no, tweak some of the core mechanics we're in for a world of hurt
  10. Complete lack of care, not from the dev team as a whole but from whoever is in charge of communication and in charge overall. They clearly don't give a shit. We'd be satisfied with the slightest bit of info every now and then but even that's not happening. All the stuff i've experienced, seen and played for Age of Sail, Gettysburg, Civil War, its all gone. I dunno where it went but honestly this studio is just the typical example of indies getting big and adopting triple A behavior instantly out of sheer hubris There's no other explanation that makes sense
  11. Its a joke post sadly. Don't get your hopes up. We'd never get info like that from the devs
  12. You almost got me you bastard, can't do that to people starved of info
  13. Like Speglord said, none of us mind waiting if we actually got any information about why we wait. Anytime a delay is announced its at the last possible minute, like a grad student asking for another half day the minute before a paper is due. Its embarassing and does nothing but make people more and more skeptical. Communicating delays and progress properly would basically remove 95% of the criticism, including mine, but the devs won't listen anyway
  14. I don't think there is any logic in what happened this year, or the previous one. If there was legal or personal issue, a simple "We are currently in the middle of issues unrelated to the game's development, we wish to apologize and ask for your patience as they are dealt with" would have sufficed But again and again we are assured everything is on track, or nothing is said at all
  15. I never said those were malicious, but if you want sources for those delays, broken promises and roadmaps you can just look at the news of the game, such as the steam release being delayed 2-3 times, 2 roadmaps being put out with the current one on track to be scrapped, and everytime devs gave us a release date for something that ended up being false We govern our expectations depending on the little communication we get from the team. The team said the steam release would be 2019, so we expect it to be so. Then 2020, we expect it to be so, then 2021, we expect it to be so. The devs promise 4 core update in 2021, we expect it to be so. We govern our expectations exactly to what the devs promise us and say the roadmap/release date is, and nothing more. Concerning criticism, it clearly doesn't come from "half a dozen people" as i am myself proof. I've never posted before and just quietly followed news about the game, and i kept seeing more and more warning signs. Look to the steam forums, filled with way more than half a dozen people being hopeless in development and critizing it. Look to this forum and see more than half a dozen people critizing the cycle. You can make your messages as aggressive as you want, all it does is end up making it look like you have no hope in either side and insult the devs as much as the community. After all its our own fault for trusting them
  16. Well, no guarantee except every single expectation, deadline and roadmap set by the devs themselves on the forums and on Steam, which is precisely why a lot of people are talking about it. Nobody would care if the game just dropped out of radar with nothing done on it and they'd just assume its abandoned then move on. The problem are the constant broken promises, delays, cancelled deadlines and roadmaps as well as lack of communication I like how you talk about the game like its a total fool's errand, and we're stupid for having given them money, and if you didn't get your money's worth in enjoyment by now its never gonna come and we're all dumb for rightfully asking how the game is going and why there has been so many delays Its this toxic attitude of "take it or leave it, you paid anyway already, so hello kitty you and have fun being ignored" that made the game industry the mess it is today. As paying customers we are owed communication on a product we spent our money on and that was promised to be updated and taken care of But tell you what, let's say you're right, then in return the game devs deserve nothing, and they get to demand nothing. They cannot ask of us useful feedback, more money or good publicity. Word of mouth can make or break games, and just like apparently we don't deserve communication and a polished product, they don't deserve to not have word of mouth spread about the disappointment that is this game and loss of sales that stem from it You can treat your playerbase like shit on the assumption they already gave you money so there's nothing else they can do, it'll be given right back in the reviews, forums and everytime the game's talked about.
  17. Who would have thought a frustrated community getting no info and only being asked things or talked to when it specifically caters to the devs vision and for nothing else would not be willing to provide tons of useful feedback It boggles the mind that an unhealthy community nurtured by the devs attitude would not help said devs
  18. If the community had any influence over how the developpers think or act, we wouldn't be talking about it in the first place. So sadly its not like Frostpunk
  19. How sad is it that people are trying to teach proper communications with the community to the devs
  20. Funny that they say "We will bring you the first version of the playable campaign, this year of course, as we have promised" conveniently skimming over the many other broken promises, like the other 3 core patches. And yes it's basically just an admission they will not communicate with us. How embarassing
  21. There's only two months left to deliver 3.5 core patches, so basically three options from now on Somehow release all core patches on time Delay steam delivery again to have them sync with core patches as they said Release on steam with half a core patch
  22. Ah, so the devs calling it a delay when many roadmaps are not met or when the steam release gets moved from late 2019 to 2020 to 2021 and soon to 2022 are completely mistaken Sorry, you should probably tell them as well then.
  23. There is little to appreciate when we have to beg for news, and "plan changes" around five times over two years, sometimes at the last day or last minute. What i do appreciate are the devs that get stuck in and still try to get the game out on track, what i do not appreciate are the community managers and head devs achieving close to none of the goals they have set and providing close to nothing to people paying triple A price. There is a difference between a few weeks or months of delay out of understandable circumstances and years of delay with no info, roadmaps being thrown out almost as fast as they're cancelled, and again and again estimation as well as dates being wrong
  24. The more i stalk the forums the more i see signs that i've seen of games like War Thunder, From The Depths or other unique games with no competitor. Slow development, constant disappointment or unfair practices, community pushback and lack of communication. Following this game since 2019 has been a rollercoaster, and i know not everyone in the dev team is to blame, but this is honestly getting both ridiculous and embarassing Let's be honest, if there was any actual alternative to Dreadnought a lot of us would not be following this game, trying to get whatever bit and pieces of communication we can from a dev team that never shares enough and has a laughable concept of what community engagement is. With 2022 soon to come and only half a core patch delivered, and steam release getting ever farther while forums get filled to the brim with people asking for answers, i don't see it being a success if it ever actually comes out. But hey, like i said, most of us would not be here trying to get answers if there was any alternative to Dreadnought
  25. So this roadmap and other announcements didn't age well. Oh well, into the pile of other things that they couldn't follow up on, like steam release, promised features or other roadmaps.
