  1. Briefly defenders start with 2 circles and attackers with one. Attackers had free points coming from useless towers and forts (which was a lot). Attackers, most of the time, have a luxury to have wind gauge, which is amazing advantage. I would say attackers had more advantages than defenders.
  2. That is great step! Can we attack almost EVERYWHERE (half the map) from Aves? 😂 Can you elaborate how "2 nearest" will work using Aves as an example please?
  3. You are not among additional source of players. You are different type of player. Besides, as I stated before you have different tools for lobby play since very beginning. Port battles being one of them. 1v1 zone can be easily put out of normal patrol zone. The problem of this lobby tools are as soon as you start loosing you have your excuses to not participate anymore. The population is very small to make it enjoyably for different tier of skills. You play it for a while till "winner, ganker, cheater" is decided. I am pretty confident that lobby players are nor after having lobby. They just want to cease the fun of others because is unreachable by them. If we have on demand lobbies one day, those players will only play till get dominated by some. OW leaves the options open to balance things. DLC ships are to serve your saying "no loss on demand PVP" in certain extent. You are asking for "on demand" part now since you already have "no loss" part. You were very very successful to direct game development to this point. The day you get on demand thing we should remove OW or keep it for authenticity only. The reason was explained many times.
  4. We had it before. It was developers decision to remove it. They can implement it in a week if they want it since it is already coded. No, I am telling that forum users can be manipulative with their lobbying, sometimes in very childish way. Having NA and NA Legends both is not dividing the community. It will serve both games better in long run. The day lobby players leave NA forums for NA Legend forums I will consider it as a win for both games.
  5. Exactly my point, 2 different games that can not exist inside another. It is not genuine and wise trying to implement OW features to League of Legends or adding features to EVE for no loss on demand PvP. May be it is time to start talking about NA Legends again for better focused discussions in their respective places.
  6. You have this features now, with patrol zones and mid 1v1 zones, in sailing distance of 5 min from a port. Port battles are also instanced for equal battles and they exist since beginning for group play. You have small BR PB's and big BR PB's. However, my aim was not to discuss with you about your gaming style. I respect it and would like if you find your enjoyment. My point was to prove that there are many posts here proposing things that actually don't belong to open world sand box genre, misdirecting development. Thank you for this.
  7. What about proposing this under proper forum topic for another go with NA Legends? It is perfect time to grab your mythical ardent pvp arena players and enjoy it as you like.
  8. If you love lobby based game so much why you didn't supported Legends when it was tested? The game test was shot down in 1 week for obvious reasons. There was no campaign to not play it, many were excited, nobody jumped with ideas about how bad it would be. Your NA Legend failed, designed for players exactly like you and for casuals who have 1 hour per day. Why you are so keen to push this game to another failure? I wholeheartedly believe that you are not here to improve this game by advocating lobby style gaming. You are here to kill the fun others have. None of you were part of RvR glories/failures, none of you enjoy PvP as you claim here (pvp players know each other, cause they encounter each other, you are not among them), none of you enjoy nation drama, conquests and losses, none of you love trading, none of you enjoy sailing in OW, in which you have no idea what will happen next. I bet you spend more time in forums than in game. However, I admit that you have won the forum war. RvR/OW players either banned or very few remained posting in forums. Some enjoying playing the game in their limited spare time and many disappointed just waiting for release to see how it will be. People bought the game as open world sandbox game. Server population is proof that their expectations were not met. Dear developers, you can not design this game by surrounding yourself and listening minority of players who never represented the NA community. I can assure you that their understanding of the game is very limited. It was very sad to see some moderators seeking to join a RvR clan to experience it properly after 4 years of development.
  9. The opposite is true. A working economy with multitudes of roles for players to play, crafters, traders, haulers, hunters, RvR'ers, PvPers, PvE'ers, soloists, duellists: each having a space to play and experiencing how those players interact and respond to conflict is what made the game enjoyable and interesting and is what should have been developed and expanded on. NA badly lacked this before and now it has been all but abandoned. This has been (in my personal experience) by FAR the most cited reason for active players leaving the game. NA suffers from low pop and so there is a shortage of PvP and the player base clamours for more (understandably). Features like DLC, Patrols, slim lined crafting, reduced hauling requirements, less R Zones have been promoted to encourage more 'fighting' but this is only ever a short term 'fix'. The econ stuff needed to be developed further, so there was more to do and players could take part in the game world, this attracts more players and then with higher pop the PvP pretty much looks after itself anyway. An arena style PvP game with the only economy remaining, dominated by a handful of players and where the only option left to take part is to buy DLC does not seem to me to be a very attractive model for potential new players. Very well put. Want to underline this once again before got lost in long paragraphs of people who pushes the game to their no exit one ways with their simple motto, if I can't have it, no one should.
  10. I didn't knew that many of the DLC supporters are pure PvP players. From now on will be checking for their names in combat news. I seriously doubt that, with DLC ships, the main desire is to minimize the hassle of economy. From my perspective they mostly try to minimize the value of their losses. They know that they will loose, they don't want to keep trying-learning cheap/captured ships, instead they want free printed decent ship that has no value of loosing. FFS how DLC ships are so relevant with avoiding economy when we have no working economy? Ship crafting was never hard, people were gifting ships to each other like candies. (However, I stand strongly that they kill the sense of having working economy.) The fear of loosing is main motivator to support DLC ships.
  11. That is the thing here, you don't need to know anything to comment across 6 pages and telling how the game should be. 😂
  12. Besides, DLC ship nonsense is not only about economy. You basically have celtic nacked fighter shouting at you that he can have everything you have if he kills you and if you kill him you will have nothing because he is naked. Didn't had any fun sinking Hercules and Requins so far knowing they loose nothing. Each battle with DLC's feels like I am obliged to use blank bullets while enemy is using real bullets, they never die and I die if they shoot me. According what people say, I am supposed to enjoy it because it provides "more" battles!? 😂
  13. In a sandbox game, no model will work without having economy as the center of gravity. There is no need to have OW with the direction you are heading.
  14. When I don't have time to participate in time consuming RvR frequently I didn't asked for removal of time wall. I just joined whenever I had time. Asking for adjustment to suit me never crossed my mind. If you don't have that much time, you can craft/haul one day and fight another day. Besides crafting and hauling was always very easy. People complaining about crafting never sound genuine to me. Either they are playing a wrong game (this is not MOBA yet) or enjoy ruining others experience, just because they are not competent enough. Correct me if you know a single "time wall removal" advocate who is competent and skilled (ROVER's don't count).
  15. Bought game multiple times for alt accounts and never complained about it. I did bought Req DLC ship to support you, the action I immediately regretted. I was ignorant about how it works and thought that it will give me privileges to craft it, as you did with rare ship crafting permits before (Agamemnon ect.) As soon as I realized how it works, stopped buying anything you have released and will not buy any further DLC's till you properly correct the current state of them.
  16. I have enough ships in reserve till the release. PB's rarely happens. Crafting is obsolete, buy DLS ships. Convince devs for 1st rate DLC if PB's ever start. I presume they would be easily persuaded. (No one is doing PB's anymore because there are no lineship DLS's? OMG, data we have is already enough I guess )
  17. Problem: New players get slaughtered by the dozens right outside their capitals. (Thanks to @Tom Farseer ) The game doesn't give proper chance to new players to experience and learn the game to help increasing player base numbers. Cause: Toxic sealclubbing community. Veterans that have gotten tired of trying to fight those fleets and being more hindered than helped by said newbies joining in light frigates against SoLs, without being on comms etc. (Thanks to @Tom Farseer ) Solution: Map is way too big even for 2k population playing at same time. Designate part of the map as a starter zone. New players start as mercenaries without nation. (Neutral Nation) Starter zone should be %100 safe with option to duel in OW. (We want them to be safe and able to learn at the same time with their initiative.) All resource extraction in starter zone should have 1/4 efficiency. No strategic resource should be available in starter zone. Kill missions should only give basic chests and rewards. Delivery missions only for in zone destinations. Good combination of AI fleets in the zone from different nations, all attackable. XP gain and post battle rewards should be 1/4 to prevent abuse and encourage players to sail in PvP open zone. Let players test, learn, gain confidence and experience the game in their own leisure. Eventually they will go out if it when they feel is right. You will give them chance to gain friends which helps a lot with retention before being sealclubbed. Let them choose the correct nation that suits them after experiencing the game to certain extent. Create a hunting mission to prove yourself worthy to join a nation to add to immersion and story.
  18. It is not adding to the problem, on contrary shows it. Everything is relative. Besides, criticizing may come only for your supporters. No enemy will waste their time to put a critic, valid or not.
  19. Here we go again.... Can you behave professional yourself by keeping your promise to not engage in direct discussions with users please? Censorship only reflects your desire and need to rule over us because of your lack of confidence in yourself, no matter how misguided you are about yourself. If you are so sure about what is lie and what is true, who is right and who is wrong why bother with what others see? Do you need to monitor everything because of "normal" people like us can't understand and will be misdirected? Do you think that we need your guidance? Your censorship only serves to insult your community. If you dare to challenge any idea or lie come with a better idea or with truth. Nobody is holding you from doing that. If you don't trust your audience capability to "understand" keep deleting and banning. "The first condition of progress is the removal of censorship" George Bernard Shaw
  20. Wow, just watched SidAlpha and @Banished Privateer videos on Youtube. It reminded me a story of a crow and a fox. Crow and fox are sitting side by side while flying to their destinations in a plane. Crow presses service button and hostess came asking if crow needs anything that she can help. Crow replies "Not really, I am just assholling". Crow keeps repeating this for several times. Fox finds it very amusing and decides to join the party. Presses the service button and replies exactly in the same way. But enough is enough, hostess can't handle this anymore and throw both of them out of the plane. Falling down Fox starts crying to Crow: "You see what you have done to me, soon I will be death because of you". Crow bewildered, replies "Sorry but if you don't know how to fly, why you are assholling?" Seriously, why on earth you thought it is a good idea to retaliate/fight your customers if you can not fly?
  21. There is nothing worse to surround yourself with applauders when taking critical desicions. If you want to "fix" something, angry people are great asset. None of them are natural angry born abominations. Besides it will be injustice to call people criticizing "angry people". I can say people can't tolerate them seem more angry to me. If they are not your target audience anymore, simply inform them.
  22. I remember reading a great idea about circle of engagement. Don't remember whose idea it was though. Problem: Circle of engagement do not represent simulation perfectly and leaves options for different types of abuses. Cause: Time spend and distance traveled in battle is different/not synchronized than in open world. Solution: With each passing second you can add distance to join position depending on OW scale/speed vs Battle instance scale/speed. You can keep battles open for 10 minutes as they are now, since the joining distance will increase drastically, the time you join will matter a lot Give immunity and speed boost (edited: invisibility is bad) timer to players based on time spend in battle to replicate OW map scale/speed
  23. Ahoy captains, There were many great ideas and suggestions which got lost in senseless discussions. It would be great to create a collection of them to serve the naval gaming community. The suggestions can be yours or one that you read and liked a lot. Don't hesitate to post others ideas as they might not be playing, active in the forums anymore. Put a disclaimer that you are sharing somebody else's idea and put their name if you remember. Keep it short, brief and follow the following format: Problem: Cause: Solution: Please, Do not post any kind of reply like "great idea", "bad idea", "won't work", +1 ect. THIS IS ONLY FOR RECOMMENDATIONS. If you want to support a suggestion simply LIKE them. If you want to improve/change your own suggestion prefer to edit your original one. It would be great if we manege to keep it compact. If you want to improve an idea, DON'T do that by adding on another, do not quote anything. Write your own recommendation and put a disclaimer that is based on certain suggestion by somebody. Avoid everything to turn this into a discussion thread. This is only for sharing, not for discussion. If you want to discuss suggestions go to the appropriate forum section. Do not move this thread to suggestions. It is not intended for developers, it is for the community! Remember, Everyone has right to have an opinion and express them. Sometimes you won't like those opinions, the people expressing them might be assholes. Leave them alone to not be a bigger asshole. You are not supposed to understand everything. Everyone is writing from their own perspective, which might be completely out of your experience and knowledge sphere. Thanks.
