    Some problems understanding a statement?

    Hercules can keep being very fast. Nerf a bit some like done hull/masts/sails/thickness. Very fast and light corvette. Pretty simple. So you don't understand  how just one ship being completely broken OP in one aspect will fuck with the balance in game?

    Maybe you already understood that Requin can runaway whenever she wants , repair and come back to the fight whenever she wants? Oh wait , i remember. Is what you do. You sail in the Requin 24/7 in KPR killing seals . Of course there isn't any problem, is what you do for living here in NA. What a suprise. Now of course you could say that there is a fact a problem in the gameplay because of this aspect in the Requin. Understanding this is important because the Hercules it is the EXACT SAME THING but in the opposite direction.

    Trolling a bit aside: Yes we all know . Is what you do 24/7 in KPR in your Requin. We already know what kind of person you are. No suprise here.

    Rework/nerf all mods (logical groups, diminishing return, etc...), nerf hard spanish/pirate (or totally rework them) Ok Make pirate not working on Requin. Wrong suggestion. You are not supposed to give a special treatment to just one ship inside the game mechanic to fix some balance issues. This is not wows and ships gimmicks. You need to see the big picture , and understanding a) hards stats can't be changed. b) game mechanics are to be the same to all ships. With this 2 factors in mind suggest things that are possible to change to bring balance.

    Buff Requin profile as with built in basic (and nerfed) pirate rig.  So your idea is to make a completely stupid broken OP ship , but now a very cheap one because there is no more the need to fit a pirate rig to fuck the others players. You are in the right path my son.

    Result?

    No more flying Bellonas, no more uberflying Hercules, no more Requin lo/wo speed capped at close haul, no more Requin flying 15.5 at 130°.

    The Hercules is the faster ship in game from 60º to 135º. if you change the mods the Hercules will continue to be fastest ship in the game . That doesn't fix the problems with these DLC ships. 

    So understanding that hard stats can't be changed  the only solution we have to fix this mess is to work around with the sailing profile. So you could suggest two options:

    a) Make the hercules very fast at 90º but only average close to downwind.

    b) Make the Hercules average at 90º but very fast at downwind.

     

    Now compare The Requin with the others 6th and 7th rates. You will understand that cutter, lynx, privateer and prince don't have any chance against a Requin. The others can try to escape downwind, but wait i said the Prince doesn't have a chance against the Requin. Enter the site and compare Requin and Prince. Now explain this to me and the others why the Prince that is a  schooner  with square sails have worse speed  sailing close downwind  in comparison with the Xebec that only have lateen sails? And you want to buff the sailing profile in the Requin.

    Really son continue with the trolling , you are really a special one.

    Yes we all know the ships or the mods need tweaking. But the last DLC ship Nerf changed a lot. So lets see how they settle down.

    Try and remember that these DLC ships are mainly sailed by Vets with great mods and so they may seem much much better than they are.

    We sank a Hercules last night after a great fight, it was fitted with Copper, Navy hull and Carta and sailed by a good veteran player and it was f$£king tough to sink!!

    Although that is what is happening its  not really representative of the Herc is it??

    You understand that a stock Hercules ( without mods ) have an crazy speed and a god sailing profile?

    You understand that a stock Requin ( without mods ) can't be catch sailing upwind?

     

    I am not saying that is not to blame mods. Yes mods imo needs to be reworked however i am just saying the DLC ships already came with some OP features that needs to be rework.

  5. I was going to post something similar. Just an idea:

     

    Chapter 1: Politics

     

    When i first started already in the first days i found me in annoying situation. It seems that i wasn’t allowed to sink traders from faction X and Y because there was a peace treaty between these 3 nations. My reply was that i didn’t signed no treaty and there is no peace treaty between nations, that is a big lie , the only thing that exists is an agreement between clans and continue to attack them. However it wasn’t enough i already made confusion with the leaders in the big clans in my nation i also had to explain to my victims why they were being attacked.

     

    My idea tries to solve all this problems.

     

    Now will be the lords or leader to choose the fate of the nation.

     

    I suggest two types of governemnt. Democracy or monarchy.

     

    Some factions use the democracy. Example: England

    Some factions use the monarchy. Example: Spain

     

    Note:

    -There is also the pirates that don’t have any governemnt, but i will talk more about them in the next chapter.

     

    Both system use a lords council , but in a different way. Lords council will be the 5 top clans leaders of that nation ( in a monarchy) or the 5 player who gets elected by the players each month ( democracy ). The measure will be how many ports a clan have. If two clans have the same number of ports, the measure will also include the number of players in both clans. ( only for the monarchy factions )

     

    How it works.

     

    Lets say a nation wishes to start a war with another faction to attack his ports.

     

    -In a democracy. One of the lords suggest to declare war at faction X. The lords will have a maximum 5 days to vote. If proposal wins a state of war is declare by the 2 nations and clans can start to increase hostility againsr the enemy ports.

     

    -In a  monarchy. The leader chooses when to start and against who.

     

    Note:

     

    -In a monarchy the leader of the nation is elected by the others lords ( he also must be one of the lords ) . However at anytime a lord can propose a new election to elect a new leader.

     

    -A lord or leader can always relegate his functions to other member of his clan.

     

     

    How to declare peace?

     

    - In a democracy . One of the lords at anytime can make the proposal to the enemy faction. The 5 lords of that faction will vote. If wins a state of peace will immediately take place and other further actions against enemy port will not take place. In the monarchy is the leader who needs to propose the peace treaty to the other nations.

     

     

    Trade agreement.

     

    Each nation can have one trade agreement with other faction. Only one!

     

    With the trade agreement accepted a trader can’t be attacked by players of the other nation that signed the agreement.

     

    The way the treaty is proposed is:

    In democracy: One lord propose the treaty. The lords vote. If wins the treaty goes to the other faction.

    In monarchy: The leader proposes the treaty to the other faction.

     

    a)The lords of the other nation votes. If wins it is accepted. ( democracy )

    b) The leader accepts or rejects. ( absolute monarchy)

     

    Trade agreement can be cancelled by

    a) a state of war is declared by the two nations.

    b) a lord proposes to cancel the treaty. The lords will vote. ( democracy )

    c) the leader cancel the treaty (  monarchy )

     

     

    Important note:

    - PvP is always on. A trade agreement will only protect the traders against players from the other faction that signed the treaty!

    - If a player in a trader join a battle against players of the other nation that signed the treaty he can be attacked.

    People don't fight the Le Sexy then run from it and this is the worst thing to do.

    I am not saying that it should be caught sailing upwind. Historical the Xebecs where trader hunters that could runaway sailing upwind or using oars ( yes our xebec in the game is a fake xebec )

    However that being said she already makes that role. why the need to make that ship even more stupid? We need to think on  ways to balance the ship not to make her more OP.

    Even a basic cutter is faster downwind in openwold as a xebec. And having a square rigger in fleet makes the xebec even slower downwind but actual she would be the slowest  ship. 😉

    Now without joking. The requin is impossible to get caught sailing upwind and you want to make that detail even more op? You understand that not even a prince can catch a requin upwind? I can't agree with you.

    I would like to see more nerfs if possible not buffs.

    Crew 245 

    8 pd French cannons = 9 pd British cannons. Is what we have in the game and because the game mechanics it gets the 32 pd carronades. ( 9 pd cannons = 32 pd carronades )

    So from a historical point of view is already accurate.

     

    Now I wish it got some changes in the way it is redeem. Once a week as you said maybe it is too much but maybe to force the player to wait 48 hours for redeem after he lost the ship would be more balance.

    It is important to understand that hard stats can't be changed  and historical she had 245 crew so  nothing can't be done about that.

    And because she haves the 9 pd cannons she gets the option to have 32 pd carronades. There is nothing that can't be done about that. It is the game mechanics.

    Also you can't suggest the ship to not have some upgrades or skills.  You can't change the game mechanics to just one ship. This is not world of warships and ships gimmicks.  

     

    Some important aspects you can as example to suggest are:

    -  Change the sailing profile to make her have an hard time chasing anyone downwind , except traders. This way the same way Requin can runaway sailing upwind the others can run from the Requin  sailing downwind.

    - Change the hp and armor thickness, in the sides, masts.

    - Make the crew more vulnerable to gun fire.

    Yes I wanted the 24 pd carronades to bring some balance, but because it uses the 9 pd cannons it gets the 32 pd carronades. 

    Now extra damage to the crew yes please. It feels strange trading broadsides with frigates and lose few men.

    I can't give you an opinion about HP and thickness without comparing with the others 6th rates 

    Not able to equip crew upgrades or skillbooks?????? Why?????

    Elite pirate rig + art of ship handling + copperplate + navy hull. Instead of blaming the ship blame mods + stacking

     

    I am not blaming anything. I just said that all traders are slow. The thing is the other member complained that the requin can catch a lynx upwind ( the other member not me ) And for me that is how it is supposed to be . All traders are slow in comparison with others warships except the lynx. Now there is a warship with the speed upwind to catch him and for me that is how it supposed to be. Don't make confusion. I am not blaming anything in this case.

    Xebec pre and after hotfix pirate rig speed.

     

     

    I joined NA a month ago and before i played WG products for almost 4 years.  From this i know that WG never, never, never nerfs a premium. Buff can happens if needed. The problem here is the same since  players spent real money , however this bring some serious problems because the game mechanics in NA.

    First i want to congratulate the devs for the hotfix about the elite pirate rig. This solve one of the two issues i have with this ship. ( the other one is the firepower ) 

     

    Now let's imagine what could be done to balance other ships with this two.

    - All 5th rates needs to have shallow water sailing. The only way to save Bahamas.  

    - Many ships needs to have a buff in 1 knot of speed. The hotfix solves the problem with the Requin but there is still the Hercules. 

    - Many 5th rates will need a buff to the turn radius.

    - The Requin will still have 250 crew and 32 pd carronades so in order to have some balance, the 6th rates will need a major buff in HP and armor thickness. This will create a snowball effect to the others ships.

    - The BR will need to have a major rework to all ships in game to be balance to this DLC ships.

     

    To prevent future problems with premiums ships i suggest to test them in the PVE server for a long time , against bot and in duels. If not in a few years, after many balances every time a new premium is release we will all sail in Ferraris , in a very arcade game of sailing.

    Anyway, your concern is very easy to overvome by introducing an ability to gift one ship to anyone (with a limit that only one ship can be gifted and that it can be redeemed only in a specific port).

    I understand very well the issue . And i gave you a better solution. If you didn't like, or you didn't understand why is better, it is another question

    I don't understand this point of view. Clan docks is just a solution to a problem that only clans have - crafting ships for others. Also, you can always create a one-man clan. Yes it is possible. But with this you  are giving all the players the ability to purchase a new way to increase the docks . What is the limit?

    I have a better suggestion and is not unfair. A clan will always have 2 free dockyards in each port they control. 

    This reward clans that fight for harbors. Makes much more sense. 

     

    Players or clans should be rewarded for their actions.  Players or clans should not be rewarded just because they prefer to play solo or in a group.

    Moving Requin to 5th would be anyway a (slight) nerf. Making her a bit frailer and nerfing a bit Hercules could solve quite a lot of problems... IF the real balance issue (overpowered perms/books and overstacking stats with them and with wood+trim) will be solved.

    In that case i would suggest to give her a big nerf in speed when sailing downwind ( maybe solving this by nerfing the ,pirate rig, etc). This way she would be what it was from a historical point of view, a trader hunter. All the warships could run from her sailing downwind but not the cargo ships. And she could run away sailing away upwind.

    Imagine the gunboat would be as long as the trinc. It would still be a 7th rate because of gun count etc but trunrate would be somewhat equal to the trinc.

    This is not world of warship or tanks where rates turn accordingly to their br. They turn like that because of physics applied to ship attributes. And trunrate depends on rudder size, ship length, etc. Therefore it makes no sense to compare the le requin to a snow a prince. You would have to look at similar sized vessels by length. And even then it would differ because of the hullshape.

    Can you compare the lenght in the water line between the Requin and the others 5 th rates?

    I really love the game and the potential , but this situation makes me think if it was a good buy. I spent the last 2 hours babysitting the seals in KPR.  Is what we do in the british faction. We stay in the harbor entrance and watch for our brothers. If there is a Requin in the area we can only do is join the battle and save our brother . But to kill the Requin is almost impossible. The moment we are close he runs upwind . Then he stays the next hours around the harbor looking for the next lonely target and the process repeats. Boring.

    She was always a 6th rate. But lets assume she is a 5th rate so what? She continues the same thing like the Hercs. Both are shallow waters, both have stupid BR, one is the fastest downwind, the other is the fastest upwind. And lets not forget that both have 32pd carronades.  Great. Stats needs to change to fix this ships. If she is a 5th or 6th rate doesn't make any difference. 

  18. Fun fact. 

    I am playing with British atm. 

    If there is enemy ship outside KPR the british sail to face him.

    If there is one requin or one Herc the british sail to face him.

    If there are 2 requins and one Herc or 2 Hercs and one Requin outside no british sail to face them. And i am talking about KPR, the british capital where is normal to see more than 20 british sailing outside to help another brother.

    Naval action is a pay 2 win game atm. A game where you need to sail in Requins or Hercules to have a good fight.  This two ships are killing the game.
