You may be a tad behind the curve with all due respect. Even so, you wanna know what a FARMER, TWINK or MULE are? What is Dual Boxing and how will Sandboxie help me in the game…?

If player purchased his ship in the Capital, had his outpost near action zone. He then used tow to the nearest port, started pvp and got sunk. Now his gameplay is over because he is limited to 1 tow.

    Are you for real?

Why not just give everyone free ships? Why not let them teleport freely whenever and wherever they want?

If you want easy action, that is always available, there is a game called Naval Action Legends. Maybe you have heard of it?

I would strongly advise you to ignore any tow topic that you will see here in this post. Bringing back easier travel will only improve pvp, ships will be sinking and econ will pick up as well. Safe zone reduction is also a good move , but might require fine tune.

Sailing creates OW pvp targets. Now we don't need to care about some stupid fleet towing while we have many targets to hunt.

    huh?
Sailing creates OW PVP targets, so lets reduce the number of players on OW?

    Upheaval in Europe
Colonial navies of 3 European Nations will start arriving to the Caribbean in the beginning of next week. The estimated  point of arrival is not yet known, but rumors point to Shroud Cay. It is already known that colonial navies will have no capitals and will have to establish the base of operations by conquest to get access to resources and admiralty services.  Captains who were sailing for foreign nations will be able to change allegiance by means of forged papers that will be provided to all. Captains who want to be ready to switch to their new nation right when patch hits could prepare by closing outposts in national towns moving assets out of them to neutral or free towns.

This is fantastic! I hope that the majority of nations will look like this in the future, with a minority of "Safe PVE" nations.

    On the economic front
The windfall tax allowed governments to find the way to provide tow services to captains. From the next week captains will be able to tow 3 ships per day to an outpost of their choosing. To compensate for the cost of the tow service the reinforcement zones will be slightly reduced around uncapturable cities, to not cover 70% of the upper antilles.

IMO, 3 ships per day is way to much. I also have a few questions regarding this.

    1. Can you tow your ships with cargo? only with repairs?

    2. How long will it take for a ship to arrive? one server restart? based on distance?

    3. Will different ships take different amount of time to arrive?

    4. Does this include the Neutral/Open for all ports? or only national ports?

I apologise if these are known facts, I did not play when this was in the game before.

  5. Thank you for considering this @admin!

This would bring a whole new depth to port battles, much more strategy and planning. That´s fantastic!

And about being able to lower to BR rating of a port, I´m conflicted. If you have a diverse BR limit for ports, I don't think this reduction is required. Small clans will have to grab ports that they can defend, ports with a lower BR limit.

I have rejected  the whole idea (not the way how to implement it) simply because of human nature plus the population in our 3 servers is too low to even test it.

As for the question I have already answered. Most people will join to seek RvR forbidden in nations with unconcuerable capitols and to recieve rewards (refering to peoples proposals).

Ah I see, kind of strange that you would comment that as a response to my post, if you reject the devs idea?

Anyway, I agree, this system is not optimal for testing at the current population.

    It is not.

Firstly it's the fastest way to kill playerbase. Again. No RvR in current game situation means nothing to do. People will start leaving. You say they will join new nations? Yes they will. Only to get promised rewards and to conquer. Those "hardcore" players are not interesting in loosing. So, what is the best way to not loose? Create another sorry a** clan and join the biggest party around. Zerg everything and be happy throwing mud and boasting on the forum.

It is time to realise that there is no real hardcore players in any MMO game. Loosing and being wiped from the map quickly change player status from hardcore to easy mode. This "test" is just another way to loose GL money and time plus wrecking game population.

As for nations protecting rookies. Nobody cares about a newbie being ganked in front of your capitol. There is map to win, another port to take, another group to zerg. No one will TP back to capitol to save that guy which account was created 5 days ago as this must be spy anyway. Come on. We have already tested it. This is again loosing money and time.

Yes I know this as well.

I was referring my question to @Borch since he stated that it would not work.

Answer me this, why would anyone join these new hardcore nations? Why not remain in the nations that they are in so they don´t loose out on the advantage of safe zones and uncapturable ports?

I have had some time to think, and I see one way that this experiment could work out well. If all the current nations, that have historical footholds in the Caribbean are taken out of RvR. They have their safe-zones for PvE and econ. They have territories that cannot be lost, and they have safe areas. This is enough support for them to do PvE and PvP as they like. RvR however, should be reserved for only the new nations. If  you want to do RvR, you need to forge papers from one of the current starting nations and join one of the new nations. The price of RvR is the risk of loosing all territory down to the capital, and no safe-zones. Players start out in one of the current nations and can only join the new nations after they started playing.

If this is ever going to work. You need to cut the current nations in half.

US, GB, France, Spain, Pirate - these will be the 5 that have a safe capital presence.

    @admin

This is the way to go IMO.

Have "big" nations as starter nations/PVE nations, GB, France, Spain and the US. These have safe zones and cannot participate in RVR. They can ofc do PVP and PVE as normal.
The "Invading nations" does not have a safe port and no safe zones. They can participate in RVR.

Pirates will have secret island and cannot participate in RVR.

Once a new player joins they can only join the starter nations. Once they hit a certain level or completes the tutorial (when it is done) they receive forged papers and are free to choose whatever nation they want.

  10. Hello captains and @admin

I simply don´t understand why upgrades have a special magical cargo slot. The captains chest is understandable as well as the gold.

Why should you be able to teleport with your upgrades? And why can´t you do the same with books or permits/blueprints?

If one were to remove this magical upgrades slot, trade around ports with special resources ( Oranjestad, Cartagena de Indias, etc) would increase a lot. It would attract privateers and pirates, forcing nations and clans to take action and defend the area around these ports.

    Thanks for your time.

  11. Hello Captains and Devs.

I have a small and unimportant suggestion.

When you press 'Home' twice and enter the "free look" camera mode, is it possible to make the camera follow the ship? And by this I mean that the camera stays locked to the ship during waves.

It would be awesome and you could make some fantastic videos with that kind of stabilization.
