  1. Yeah, I hope it will be added before the release of the game. Would be a nice little addition to the game. Also there need to be a few more histrocial accurate pictures for historical commanders.
  2. I'm a bit disappointed too that the seminary building and cemeteray gate are not included on the map, as they are pretty iconc and were included in UG:Gettysburg. I hope they will be added in a future update to make the map bit more accurate/add more eyecandy. Also I think there should be a few more rocks on the west side of Little Round Top and the gap between Little Round Top and Round Top should be a bit larger.
  3. haha love those old Civil War Generals quotes Regarding the shattered units: I too wish you would at least get a few men back after the battle and not lose the complete brigade. Let's look at hobo's example (this once happened to me too. I used a cavalry unit to scout and ran directly into the fire of an infanty brigade I didn't spot. The whole 500 man unit was shattered immediately [but only lost around 50 men or so]). While I understand that it's a major blow and the morale must be very low at this point, I still think at least a few men should rally after battle and should still be available, regardles what happened. Maybe keep the unit after the battle but with just 10% of it's initial menpower. So, instead of the initial 500 men only 50 are available after the battle. Would still be costly to replenish this unit but you will not lose the unit completely.
  4. They still could somehow "adjust" the battle a bit for gameplay reasons, if it's too complicated to exactly replicate the battle in game. But leaving it out completely would be a bit disappointing IMO.
  5. During campaign I noticed that there is not much variance in officer names. Some names often appear twice or even three times in the officer's pool in one campaign. For example in one Union campaign I had three officers who were called "Schirmer" and two who were callled "Lilley". In another cmapaign I had three "Custers" available. While they do have different first names, it can get very confusing nonetheless, as usually only their last name is displayed. It would be nice if more names could be added or if at least the same name doesn't appear more than twice in your officer's pool.
  6. Yes I can confirm this. also in battle of Antietam the commander of the IX Corps is called "IX Corps" instead of "Burnside" and the Commander of XII Corps is called "Burnside" instead of "Mansfield".
  7. Just realized beside the Burnside error in Antietam, Corps Commanders in the battle of Shiloh don't have names either. Only the Corps names are displayed but not the proper names of the Generals.
  8. So, reading the info on the main page, it seems the historical Battle of the Wilderness (May 5th - 7th 1864) is not planned for UGCW? This seems a bit odd to me, as it was one of the large Battles in the Eastern theater of the Civil War. I hope the info on the main page is just incomplete and the Battle of the Wilderness will be in the final version of the game. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Wilderness
  9. I don't know but somehow the lines indicating the firing range of your units are very hard to see for me since the latest update. Especially during battles that take place early morning/evening (so when the lightning is darker than usual). The lines were never that great to see, but feels worse since the latest patch. Would be nice if those lines were either in more vibrant colors or we could choose the color which we prefer.
  10. Hello! I have discovered a naming error in the historical battle of Antietam. The leader of the IX Corps is called "IX Corps" (like the Corps itself) instead of "Burnside". The commander of XII Corps is called "Burnside" in the game, while it should be "Joseph K. Mansfield" instead. "Burnside" should be renamed to "Mansfield" and "IX Corps" to "Burnside" to correct those errors.
  11. i agree with the OP. I hope flags/colors/banners will be added and I really hope for a few unique uniforms/units to be added as well. I don't know how difficult or expensive it is to add more uniform variations to the game, and we don't need dozens of different uniforms in the game, but it would be nice to have at least 4 or 5 different unique uniforms for each side. Maybe for the Union add Iron Brigade (with Hardee hats), sharpshooters with green uniforms and two or three Zouave uniforms/units and for Confederates Louisiana tigers and two or three other special units with unique uniforms.
  12. I agree with this! It would be neat if you could choose the portrait of your own General and not just change his name. I hope this will be implemented in the future! And I also hope that you will add correct portraits for the historcial Generals in the game. Some of them seem to have a correct portrait picture but unfortunately not all of them. Hope it will be added/fixed.
  13. haha yeah I loved the old "Civil War Generals II". I still play it from time to time. The game is so much fun and even if the graphics are outdated they are not too bad IMO. Ultimate General Civil War really looks like a great successor to this old game.
  14. I would like to see flags/colors added to units on the battlefield. At least generic union and confederate flags. It would add more immerison IMO. Even the old "Sid Meier's Gettysburg" game had flags for all units. Would be nice to see them here as well.
