Come now British, a war is never one battle! When you loose a port we will claim no powerful victory. When the Spanish capture your regions, no victory will be shouted about on the forums.
A victory is only a victory when a nation is beaten so badly they either surrender or are conquered entirely. Either way, victory will only happen when the British have a single region.!

The British have already proven that lineships are weak against cheap throw away fire ships...
The British also showed that the age of lineships is every limited to Dare I say port battles only

Have the mighty British empire captured any ports on the eu server yet?
I'd say take pictures and draw maps of your empire before it starts to shrink!

It's a shame that any trader doesn't get the ability to purchase a market in there capital.
A market doesn't grant any goods itself but instead buffs the goods received for trading.
Tier 1 market (cost 10k) Gives 5% trading bonus.
Tier 2 market (costs 200k) Gives 15% trading bonus.
Tier 3 market (costs 900k) Gives 40% trading bonus.
The bonuses would provide better rewards for trading. Any two markets at tier 3 would give an extra 10% reward.

It's an interesting idea! I think everything should be tradeable tho.
I dont see how any new concept could restrict a player from making money in there own way.
Selling marks/pearls should be allowed.
What we need is a better exchange rate mechanics, the better you are at pvp, the higher exchange rates received

As tex said, raiding solves this issue.
Being able to raid (ransake) or ocupply a port for eg 48hrs. Would enable nations to use springboards to conquest.
If raiding gives the ability to ocupply a port on the successful raid, it would give access to missions etc.
Giving both attacker and defender a focal point and hopefully enabling more port battles.
I still feel that a raid should cost 750 marks, meaning it's a long term goal for an organised group of players

Not surprised people are turning away from this game! Abuse is welcomed and supported on these forums by the moderating team lack of action but spamming while being polite is crushed!!

Every other nation (apart from Dutch, hmm funny that) has been effected by the changes to resources distribution and have adjusted how they play. Not the British! No the British are complaining that the game is now hard...!
The entire point of this game has shifted from sit by your capital and be spoon-fed too go and get it yourself. Better still, take it off someone who has what your nation requires!
Trade is now a players own responsibility.
Conquest is a players own responsibility.
Ps. Why come to the forums complaining that you must sail 2 hours to get coal when there's a region ABOVE homeland Jamaica that produces coal. A mere 30(Max) mins sail away....!
I know it's scary British captains your in a new age where the training wheels are off!
Pvp global, I know you (gb) have more players than the pirates but I know that restricts you (50% never turned manual sail on before)
Pvp eu. (gb) I know Spain is scary with pirate and usa support but do you think it's worth the risk or will the blow back be crippling!

Hey Devs, give the British back every possible resource on Jamaica. The sail to coal it's is just unfair. Poor, poor British!
Unless I'm mistaken there's coal on the southern tip of Cuba! But that means fighting pirates and we all know that goes against the morals of all British captains!!
Oh I'm sorry I forgot you'll just say it's not fair that great Britain has to fight for anything, when you should just be granted access to it by default. My bad! Oh but your granted access to coal at Belize by default. Erm it's hard understanding Britishs captain mindsets!.....

To be able to take funds so not to sink or capture a target is a great idea. (or to take cargo- dump in water, so attacker must sail upto it and collect it while being stationary - this is the traders escape period)
Once battle is closed its back to open world.

WE ARE ONLY TWO WEEKS INTO WHAT IS BASICALLY A NEW GAME! I love pbs, I love screening for pbs.
I'm a bloody pirate. Right now is an arms race, don't worry soon the pirates will be on your front door. I wonder if you will run away or fight...!

No no and no!
What alot of people are forgetting is we are only two weeks in! I actually like one dura ships. (I love the ships with 500k worth of upgrades on) if in battle I take too much damage I'll protect my ship. Instead of throwing it away as hey 3 dura left.
Also stealing ships is fun again.
I love capturing ships then retrofitting them as fireships, and attacking bigger ships in game.

Most of use sail with the map up. Only going into ship view to fire.
I like the idea but I wish it was a vocal key not a visual one (more immersion)

I agree with you totally. On the eu server (Im sure you've seen the sea of tears), there is about 4 large pirate clans farming regions. Iv not yet seen randoms or smaller clans push hostility but every pirate demands to take part on a pb! I keep saying go do the work for a pb BUT the response I get is "why should I do pve, I hate pve" then why the hello kitty should you get the rewards from the port battle!!
This game is full to the brim currently with self-righteous pompous children, who can't believe things have changed. Who refuse to work for anything. From these forums all I see is "I WANT IT NOW FOR FREE, GIVE ME IT NOW, I HATE CHANGE" .... (drives me nuts)

Outside of all this British chest banging and gusts for winning a single fight in a war that may last months.
If I was a British captain I'd be looking past all this fan-fair and elation and I'd be looking at what does the Spanish consider victory in those war...!
Is it one porting gb!
Is it crippling the British economy!
Is it forcing new players to pick another nation!
Is it crushing all pvp fleets!
I'd also be asking if the British are so powerful why do they have the same relevance as the usa?!
Even the usa are trying to capture ports!
I wonder what other nations will jump on Spain war with gb the moment gb starts loosing. Gb how many fronts can you fight on!
