Is there a way to hold the rudder at whatever angle you want. Currently most people use full or centre rudder for all but slight adjustments. I was wondering if there is a way to lock the rudder at say 10 degrees for a very shallow turn?
P.S. I may have suggested this years ago. But just thought of this again after doing some recent battles.
Can't you acheive this with yard positionning?

Who knows, maybe we have been testing somekind of barebone version of NA all those years and they will add plenty a new features they were confident about and did not need any testing, thus were not in the alpha-beta-gamma version we had access to

Nobody really online anymore, can we just get on with it?
Interesting, so players are not interested in pure PVP in disposable ships with no consequences?
who would have guessed

Is it possible to have details on any new feature that made it into the release candidate? Such as locked alliances, raids, announced 3rd rate ships (Téméraire, montanes and wrecker class), etc.
Cheers and hat's off to all those invloved in Naval Action developement.

thinking of it that would also make players use more battle sails and lower sails because of the chance of losing even more hp to the sails
Good point, because for now, I'm not even sure if sailling at 55-60% sails is worse than using the battle sails regarding speed and maneuvrability.

My « dream » is that each nation would have their own historical ship for all rates from late 18th- early 19th century.
French ships for France, British ships for Britain, Spanish ships for Spain, Dutch ships for the Netherland, etc.
But for now, I’d settle for a Pallas class 18 pdr frigate from Sané. With the incoming Téméraire class, I could pretend that France can sail French ships exclusively ^^.

You can also tow them out once in the port with a trader.

I can get behind this. Rather than continue to feed into the meta, create a situation where because of their rarity and excessive yet reasonable cost will be used less.
The problem I see, is how DLC ships allow to completly ignore this rarity. 20 or so Teak-Wo or LO-WO Rattsivan (or worst, 3rd rates) in a PB vs oak oak aggies that still cost 2,7k dubs?

IMO, it looks stupid to see a mixed fleet of french royalists and french republicans fighting vs HRE ships. I think it would be better if I could chose what flags shows up on my ''client side''.

All this talk about rare woods assume oak-oak ships can’t compete vs ships made of rare woods.
Maybe this is what should be looked at. After all, oak was the primary shipbuilding woods for warship of the era.

Well the ones that partake in the port battle do get victory marks, the question has always been how to reward screeners who can also play a very important part in the battle.
I'm not even sure VM will have any use after the next patch, since most permits will be removed.

Capturing a town and holding it is a team effort. That only one clan owns the port and all it's benefits does not necessarily reflect this reality.
Should players that aren't members of that clan receive some kind of salary from the clan when they help defend or even capture the town? Or get a share of the revenus if they helped raising the hostility?

I'd like the option to remove DLC flags on my end. That you want a special flag is fine, just don't force me to see it if I don't want to.

@admin We are in dire need of updated information very soon. There are many questions that need answered so we can prepare if needed. These are just our clan's most pressing...
- What will happen to our outposts if they are in Free Ports (La Mona), Open Ports (Cabo Rojo), and Neutral Ports (Higuey)?
- Will ports surrounding our Capitals remain part of our nation, or will we need to recapture them? (i.e. Ft Zoutman, Ft Oranje, Las Aves)
Depending on patch release date and the answers to above, we may need a long time to move our ships and warehouse items.
last time we had a map wipe, all capturable ports were reverted to neutral, no matter if clan owner had set it to open before the wipe. This means you will be able to tp in and out of them until they get recaptured by another nation.
Only capturable ports are affected. National ports will remain as they are.

Should do a ship wipe along with a map wipe, so we can all get used to seeing only DLC for the rest of forever.
Indeed, and we'd have an idea if and how DLC Ratts will swarm the map and grab every meaningfull port before the first oak oak aga is even crafted.

Can’t we just review the bonus-malus of the rare woods to make sure Oak-Oak becomes the go to meta wood while rare woods only give marginal bonus that still feel good yet are not that OP?
seriously, +10% thickness and + 3-4% speed for Teak-WO over plain Oak-Oak built?

just a small suggestion. It would be very nice if you could develop some port buildings you need to transport certain resources in that port (for example iron or stone blocks for the Fort or ironwood log of oak muskets or other resources for different structures) this would partially relaunch the classic trading
This might answer your proposition:
Quote-
Cities will produce more goods if supplied by basic resources from local county cities
- e.g. Brining grain or maize to a certain county capital will help it to spawn more white oak or copper
- e.g. Bringing combat reports to capitals will eventually bring more graduates from europe to serve as gunnery officers
Taken from that Post.

10 is plenty. We don't need to fix something that ain't broke.
10 is enough to get a random permit you are not interested in

i still think it would be best that a PZ would be generated in a county where there is scheduled port battle
Why not before there is a PB? Buy flag and plant it in a region to set up a PZ in the area and raise the hostility inside that area to trigger the PB.
