  1. If you are talking about the in-game clan description, there is a certain order you must follow to edit it.

    1. Click edit

    2. Type your new description

    3. Click edit again

    4. Log out and log back in.

If you happen to be on the wrong 'edit click" sequence then essentially what it does is closes the edit, yet still allows you to edit it. So when you log back in, it is not changed. At least that is what happened to me. It's quit a fouled up method, but the new UI coming should be much better, I'm sure...I hope...heh

  2. And that moment that you have 140 pen that does 44 damage each pen, plus double charge loaded on only one side, that should pen even more to make certain you get the 44 damage...yet your enemy takes partial damage to about 3/4 left and then stops losing any damage even though you keep recording more and more hits. And this is happening for everyone on your team.

(quick math: 44 x 312 = 13,728 total damage hp spread between possibly 3 ships = 4,576 dmg per enemy ship)

You'd think my mates and I would've sunk a few more ships....but sidebars just stopped dropping. :(

  3. New map for the week is up: Mon- Sat. Still crude, but there for the action on PvP2.

Pirates have crushed the Brits to their capital and a handful neighboring ports. US's attempts to help defend have been futile, but great fun PvP.

US keeps Pirates pressed south in the Bahamas with the help of Brit screens. More great PvP fun.

Pirates soak up the abandoned Yucatan / Central America ports.

French and Dutch, with an occasional Swede keep taking ports back from Pirates and Danes, but the Danes seem to defend well.

All-in-all, good fun going on here at PvP2 Land.

    Current Port Count:

    PI - 126

    ES - 5

    FR - 17

    GB - 6

    VP - 26

    DN - 41

    SV - 1

    US - 109

  4. What lag issues? I played from hawaii with absolutely 0 issues, and since coming to the mainland, my ping has been even better

Read below, and read the post of mine that you quoted. Those lag issues. Not all of players in the US have a T1-T3 connection. Not all of us living in big cities with near direct access to nodes. Many of us cannot stand living in a city and therefore live in the suburbs or rural areas that have a good steady ping here in the US but a mere average ping to outside US servers that suffer massive lag spikes making that game worthless to us.

This should answer you question, even if previous answers somehow did not.

Maybe the lag issue i had. Or my friend from Washington or my friend from North Carolina, or my friend from Brazil.

Pvp1 is unplayable for us even when we just tries it as a test for possible merge.

    Bingo.

Now, perhaps these issues should force a redesign of how and what data is passed around between gaming servers and clients. Maybe what clients send to servers and receive from servers should be re-examined. I've been calling for this for decades.

  5. Wasting your time Tarranis. It's not about logic anymore. It's about hard headedness and egos.

    The facts as of today.

I have played both servers for months at a time. I have full gear and bps on both servers. I can easily play either I want to. The population in US time zones essentially matches so by population there is no difference between the two servers.

So what real difference is there?

Access to the EU player base stabilizes the map more. Open up both maps and just look at the dispersion of nations. Doesn't take long to notice how lop sided pvp2 is compared to pvp1.

EU players can result in 1000 pop weekends for occasion grand scale play. It really livens up the weekends.

EU players result in port battle time shift to off hours. This is NOT good for US time players and is a negative to pvp1 use. However the conquest system is about to change so not sure of how this will be in the future.

ECON game in pvp1 is more real as you compete with over a thousand other merchants across the 24 hour clock. Pvp2 is more just crafting without competition for resources.

Other than that the two servers are mostly the same.

Pvp1 offers more variety and options of game play in all nations.

Pvp2 offers more port battle contests in limited nations as long as players set port timers in play times.

In the end if the servers merge US players can still do everything they are now doing in pvp1 and pvp2 but with less crafting abilities. Not much change otherwise. For those in this forum complaining about Tarranis bringing this up again? Look at the vote. Currently it's 26 votes for merge to 11 votes for no merge. Even amoung the small crowd that even cares about this issue it 2-1 FOR MERGING. No one has ever agreed in the previous threads in majority that NOT merging was better. You just wore us down with the drama and we stopped talking about.

26 votes ...i bet almost all of them play on the PvP1 server. The only thing ppl from PvP1 and the devs need to understand is that if PvP2 merges into the PvP1 on a European server, your numbers will emphatically NOT increase, because USA players will quit the game. So our "little player base" (as PvP1 ppl call us) will not put up with a 300 ping that on a regular basis suffers massive lag spikes of 1-2k+. It is not fun. It is not even acceptable. I was just on the PvE server last night testing this and nearly every broadside I fired missed half the ship about half of the time. Some times I was able to fire early enough to not miss, but other times I fired early enough and still missed because an even larger lag spike delayed my broadside. (This had absolutely nothing to do with a gfx spike, as it remained the same fps.).And then, when trying to board, it is absolutely impossible to win. This makes ppl quit.

So, I will leave you with these two responses below, that are the exact same consensus of nearly all PvP2 players.....

If PVP2 merges, I will probably quit the game. Pad ping sucks.

I used to disagree with doomed on this topic but after this many months I finally agree with him. I also went to pvp1 for about a month. I can tell you without a doubt that there is lag in bigger port battles on pvp1 for me. I'm very close to the center of the north american continent. Shot delay mostly. I had a taste of pvp1 and I don't wanna play there. Nothing against the people, they were great for the most part but I hate lag. If north americans came back to pvp2 i'm sure we'd all have a ball again. If pvp2 merges into pvp1 i'm probably done.

And there you have it....end of story, finit, period, next subject.

(p.s. I didn't even bother answering this poll, as I'm sure many from PvP2 haven't because of the failed suggestive answers, or because we PvP2'ers are simply bored with this merger topic.)

  6. Hello everyone.

I've a problem to start the game.

First of all, i play the game on my main system with a graphic setup on highest settings and a resolution of 3440x1440.

Now i'm at my Notebook with less the power of my main system.

When i start the game, it doesn't work and crashes at the loadingscreen. Nothing happend for about 30minutes.

I've no chance to get to my main system to change the settings in the game.

    Now the question:

Is there a possibility to change the settings out of the game? I don't find a configfile or something else.

    Best regards.

Have you tried running the Beta (x86) version first, make the settings change there, then run the normal version? I'm not sure if the x86 version is even active any more, but it is what I had to do back in March for my laptop to lower the gfx setting. (everyone still makes fun of my screenshots. lol)

  7. All I know is that y'all need to help with creating different Officers and associating the Perks with these officers (even creating some new perks for new officers not yet listed). The wider array of options each player has the more differences between players we will face. So chop, chop. Help a guy out. Plz n ty. :)

  8. Oh I do test the game.  And I am giving feedback, dont like it, tough titties.

I also think the Pirate Hunter perk is broken.  There shouldn't be some magical perk that because you fight pirates gives you a special reload bonus.   Honestly the two perks should cancel each out or mirror each other.

If this perk is magic, then lots of magic perks are here in the game. However, I can tell you that had I encountered a pirate back in the day, the adrenaline coursing through my blood would certain speed my reactions; it happens to everyone. Some people simply overload and freak out and are capable of "flight" (fleeing much faster than they normally could run); while others can control it and simply have quicker coordination of brain to motor function. It is true science. And I know this from EMT work. When facing a simple injury, we can work at a smooth controlled pace, yet when faced with a severe injury that requires immediate and instant attention, our adrenaline quickens our movements and thought processes. EMT work is not for everyone for the reason I mentioned above. People react differently to an adrenaline rush. And they certainly quicken the motions that their brain has repeatedly performed time and time again.

  9. Here is the list of all current Perks for Officers. I need help associating these Perks to specific Officers. (Which by the way, I also need help creating all the Officers.)

    • Potential USA PVP 2 merge - under consideration  <<<---------- PLEASE PLEASE CLARIFY!? You know what chaos this caused back in May that still has ppl making new posts about.

    EDIT

Don't forget that Captain Babble keeps track of all ideas for the large scale roadmap (which might be included in NA or for multiple reasons can be implemented in Naval action 2 ;)

    http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/12696-the-road-map-table-of-contents/

if you like some of the things he is tracking (based on player suggestions) please let him know in comments

He's been doing a great job, lots of work in that.

Also, for every bullet in this OP, can you make them actual links leading to the posts that explain it?? Please?

    Content patch: August (Deployed 8/17/16)

(The link above leads to --> http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/13606-war-and-port-battles-rework-moderated/Hopefully that is the correct link??)

  10. I believe the clear answer has been shown over the past 4 months. No merger. However, you now mention a good point along with 3th above, that this poll should actually be about the devs allowing transfers with assets or not. My vote would be: No merger, but yes to a 1 time transfer with all assets.

Perhaps there should be your poll question. Free 1 time transfer: Yes or No.

  11. First off, this topic is getting extremely old and quite frankly should be closed by the moderators. Secondly, your 3rd choice is not a proper answer as it forces us to give an answer with two parts where one part could be false for some. If they merge the server to a Euro server, 300+ Americans on the PvP2 server will simply quit the game because we cannot stand the lag issues, hence why we play on PvP2 and not on PvP1.

Mods, please close this post, as it is the 8 millionth post of the exact same thing.

  12. I'd suggest making a poll.

But I agree, there is a lot of perks for only one officer.

A thread with poll that I created. This is how I envisioned the officers to be used....especially when after one previous patch there were slots for multiple officers. I still suggest multiple officers, and each officer would have a list of 5-6 perks to choose from, but allowing only 2-3 perks for each officer. Also, each perk would have different XP levels to them. They would have to create a few more perks, but this would still allow for wide range of combinations that would provide an equally wide range of unique possibilities between each player.
