All ships that exist in NA are here due to a lot of reasons. Different players like different ships for many reasons other than "gank". For some is massive broadside powercreep, for others is a suitable tool for the task. Others like them for the looks, others play them to keep a sensible "historical feeling" to their character.

Comparing ship to ship will simply bring us to the "how much did it cost, during the age of sail, to build a schooner versus a super frigate". And we know the answer to that.

I think that a game should make all assets aviable to all players. SOLs of course are harder to build but shouldnt be impossible to use for the average gamer. Nor the other ships. As in real life grind economy would make frigates and 3rd rates the most common ships in OW. Common does not mean weeks of grinding, though. It means something relatively easy to get and...loose without being set back by weeks. Multiduras actually solved some of this.

    are you sure?

    • lets say pvp rewards are increased a lot (by 3)
    • special chests are added for pvp players based on pvp score they gain
    • special zone 6v6 is created in the center of map where every pvp player will come for fun for equal fights

    Will it change something?

As an old time veteran gamer, I can say that the only thing that will help is making it easy to get into a fight and to loose without too much loss. I will not play a game where it takes too long to have all the fun stuff. Port Battles, pvp, trading etc. It all takes too long time in preparations compared to other games. MMO does not have to be boring MMO. Naval Action is just that now, but that has not always been the case. Go back to basic. Forget about all the RvR and concentrate on the single player MMO experience. Is this part fun? Is that part fun? RvR will always organize themselves so to speak. Clans will come and go. The single player online should be your main focus. If he is bored, you can forget about everything else.

  3. Drop all special RvR content whatsoever. Rebuild the game around single casuals that like multiplayer battles. Give them ships, guns. Reasons to fight it out.

RvR will always be evolving out from a good basic game. Players will organize themselves. But only if the game is fun, that is.

And for most a good multiplayer battle this is why we bought the game.

We want battles. Big, small, underdog, superior, fun battles with sinking, exploding ships in them.

Bring back cheap multi duras so we can loose ships all night.

Work on game content and make it optional how players like to use their time in game. A port battle? Come join. Hunt a trader? Go ahead? Capture the spanish treasure fleet? Try. Defend your nation? Give a hand!

Shift your focus before it's too late. Kill the RvR darling and make the game great again. RvR ers will find eachother anyway.

The problem is not with the Durability numbers or the cost.  It is with the players sailing what they can't afford.

A ships loss should not bankrupt you.  If it does you are sailing a ship you cant afford.  The way I look at it you should be able to replace everything you have on that ship at least once.   Hence why I sail 6th and 7th rates.   While I am sitting on a million, and I own a Trincomalee and a Indefatigable(captured), I rarely sail them.   I spend FAR more time in a Snow or a Lynx then I do anything else.

Oh. So you are saying that w have a game where players are suppose to sail in Lynx and Snows all the time? Wow. I remember once where most players could join port battles in their lineships. Maybe this company should change their promotion from blasting Men of Wars to a lonely Lynx on an empty sea.

You get killed using the tactics you yourself use. then cry about quitting... AAA+ would cry again.

This games players are leaving for good. It's not about playing it wrong, playing it bad or playing it faulty. It's about being too bored and simply quit. Uninstalling the game. Where does this leave the rest of you that still wait for "the next patch"?

I'm done waiting. Nothing happens. Thegame IS boring. And more so now than ever before.

Quit idea of RvR and aim for the single players who like pvp. Then RvR will automatically occur. The other way around does not work.

Well, currently it seems they want to cut away a part of the community by offering them a battle simulator, I assume a bit like Sea Trials. So, that will suck up a good quantity of PvP-players that would otherwise populate the OW.

For the main game with an OW, that I assume will still be the focus, we have only received such hints from admin as: "those are not revenge fleets, but actually home defence fleets", which perhaps indicates what has been pointed out by some here, that the developers are at this moment catering for the big RvR groups - possibly because they are more numerous (though less outspoken on the forums).

I wonder how fun the RvR players will think the game is when the game is only populated by their own kind. No sailing out to take revenge on those pesky OW PvP-ers (or "gankers"). It'll only be hauling goods in an empty OW [irony]hey, why not just do away with sailing as well? Bring back teleporting with goods![/irony] and then sailing out to do pre-arranged port battles. Excepting of course the very few players like yourself who will revel in the possibility to lure the unsuspecting non-PvP oriented RvR-players into "counter-revenge-gank-ganks".

An arena game with port battles would save a lot of frustrations among the playerbase IMHO.

The atmosphere around this game where good and constructive until it got too much EVE online and less action with new ships and nations in it. It's too complicated and too time consuming now and everyone are complaining. Thegame has lost a lot of its original aurora where we could sail out in ships and destroy eachother and advance down the road.

Bring this back or die slowly...

LOL it isnt that bad.  I can craft my own ships, and my own repairs.  Not like I am using the labor hours for anything else.

When I dont need a new ship or want a new ship, I use the hours to make money.

EVE has 1 dura ships and everything works out JUST fine... and there are ships in that game worth thousands of real life dollars.

I don't know about EVE. But I'll never be comfortable with a game where a first rate should cost me thousands of real life dollars. It sounds mad and completely ridiculous in my ears. PC games are a bit of fun. Not a ludomaniac replacement of real life.

This game needs to be de-EVEed!

I'm glad your clan of 15 can deAl with it lol.

My clan of 10, usually 2-5 online, can't.

So again. We are forced to grow our clan, join a bigger clan, sail privateers and lynx' or look for pvp in places where there is no players... :)

But it's fine. I just won't play untill something is done about revenge fleets. Clearly the small group/solo player isn't welcome here anymore even though we've been around longer than most people :)

No we are not welcome... but it doesnt matter. plenty of good games out there - the worst part  is that they screwed the product I payed for...

You can sail at least 200k in OW during a battle which takes an hour. 200k is too close?

And Victor. Your on the wrong side of the dura argument and the materials cost argument. The actual materials cost of a ship like the surprise is maybe 100k. Manufactures are simply selling it for double or more because they can, not enough people are out there building ships yet so the price is high because demand is higher than supply. In a few weeks the price of most ships is going to drop almost 25%. Nerfing the current materials cost of ships would make that price drop even higher.

It is NOT a good thing when everyone has millions of gold and 5 back up ships. Without the risk there is no excitement. When I can throw away 5 Surprises in a day then I'll probably get bored of this game due to lack of excitement.

Ideally clans will get rich like in Eve and start buying/paying manufactures to supply ships for their clan mates for their war efforts. There will be ship replacement programs where clans will replace your ship if you lose it in the process of a clan PVP op. This is good for the game, this is when large wars will happen.

Economy is not the real issue here (it could use some fixes though) the real issue is that Port Battles are not really a thing (aren't they broken?) and there is little other reason to fight each other except if your into piracy (I love piracy).

I dont get this view. If its good and exciting battles the price of the ship doesnt matter IMHO. So how can we have good and exciting battles? By making complex economy or die hard grinding? Dont think so.
