When you say flipped you mean Hostility to have a PB right? Because flipped to me means you already lost it... Anyway.. No thanks... The attacker already invested time and resources in raising the Hostility on what might or might not have been an intentional d=misdirection. Why does he need to pay a fee? Misdirection and being sneaky is part of warfare. The fact that you have a bunch of whiners that are mad the enemy fooled them is not the games fault.

I do not even want to think about the Graphics load of opening and closing gun ports rolling in and out guns and lots of crew on the decks of every ship in a combat... <shudder>

NO I mean real sinking ships.. The fact we can unload cargo is amazing in game from a ship with water on teh deck already:)

Well for realism you should have to stop next to the ship for 5-10 minutes(time scaled for battle time) and hope there is something you want. The only loot in most cases would only ever be Repairs and rum on Warships and guns...

I do not mind the looting system.. what I mine is that the ships sink like they have been hit by a half dozen torpedoes not like a wooden ship slowly dying... Ships should very slowly sink over a 10-30 min time frame.. They should be in the way for sailing and shooting.... It would also be nice to have a loot button once you get close and slow and have inspected the ship.. Not the drag and drop. But I can dream

Well every time they add something that changes the game a lot they have given us 1... I think we started with 1 or 2 after the Summer Wipe Then got one after 11.0 changed the game and again just now when 12.0 changed the game. And it is far from Easy to change.. If you actually play... Since you have to remove everything from all National ports before you change.... I think they should also require you sail to the Capital you want to join or for the 3 new ones Shroud Cay to actually use the Papers

No it isn't a Nerf is changing it's stats in a significant way.. ie replacing 32s with 24s ect, reducing Hull Side HP ect. Changing it from 4th rate to 3rd rate is a re-balance and what is supposed to happen in Alpha/Beta test levels of games when he ships is fine but in the wrong spot/tier ect

Hell. They had better Navigation Tolls on their Ships in the 17th Century than what we got in the Game.

We have no Speed Relation. We cant rely on realistic Travel Distances based on Speed.
In Reality you would know how many Hours you traveled at what Speed and thus be able to tell how far you got in that Direction. Hence know an rough Position of yourself.
2.
We have no way to confirm our Position. In Reality they would check the Night Sky and find out their rough Position based on the Stars.
3.
We dont even have a proper Map that includes Landmarks.
In Reality if they hit an Island they could check the Map for Hills and other outstanding Features to see what Island they landed on.
We need.
A.
An Better Map. That actually includes Basic Terrain and Landmakrs so we can Identify it.
B.
An rough Travel Estimation on the Map. Which draws an rough estimated Line based on the Direction and Speed that we Traveled at for the last Hour.
C.
An way to Confirm our actual Position. For example make it so that our Map Position is Updated once per Ingame Day during the Night. As our Crew Confirms out Position based on the Night Sky.
None of that would Break Realism.
In Opposite it would actually make it more Realistic cause no Ship in that Age would ever have Sailed as Blindly as we do it.....
Trader tool combined with the Protractor is all that we need.. Hell half the time I just look at the map eye ball the direction and use the Trader tool to tell me when I should be seeing land. What we really need is the ability to Read Ports name at a distance using the Spy glass.. Because in Real life they all were not exact copies:).. Once you have been close enough to any city to read the location in OW you should then later be able to know which city your looking at in the spy glass.. Contour maps of the islands that match the actual islands in game would be nice for spotting which mountain is which based on the map

No idea about that.. I just use teh controls in default settings for most games... unless it involves Weapons groups and targeting. Then I use the extra dozen keys on my Mouse:)

Yup.. Handy for the Back out out of the wind and it also lets you level out without changing sails... for a better shot

so lets make it easy... Set Full sail.. Depower(T key) full oppiste rudder to direction you want bow to go... Set rear sails so the wind pushes you backwards.. Set the fore sail so it pushes the bow in the direction you want to go... Practice it in the 15 min after you win and mission or OW AI kill... a few times.. it is NOT that hard...

Yup... Make them all 15-20km from Capital and all the missions 4th rate and under are inside them... 3rd rate and under ones inside the zone pay 1/3 the gold as now but same XP...
