all your post complain how little time you have

do you want just stuff given to you because of that?

make time or stop whining. nobody cares

Some of us actually have jobs and real lives.  In the last 6 months I prob had maybe 6 days off so telling me to make time is BS, not every one has time to just make.

The problem is after you travel an hour or so to these zones you come to hunt PVE not in a PvP mind set so you can get one of these rare ships (one of which should be craftable but Admin's shady arse got his panties in a wade and wants more money, I mean reviews, it seems).   Than you get into a fight, normally out number cause these guys don't like to fight fair or they jump into your fight when you half damaged or low on repairs.  People than get frustrated cause they wasted the few hours they have.  Than they stop playing and what you end up with is a dead game like we have that slowly looses player base cause the few that come back for these events only get turned off more.  I can care less about loosing a ship or doing PvP if it wasn't that I just wasted an hour and half sailing to those zones as there is only three of them and not every one has ships in those areas.

This is how you end up with negative reviews not positive.

  2. This actually isn't to bad, cause it gives us folks that aren't able to have big groups to do Privateer fleets to get a chance at a chest.

Don't think time is the issue, zones are. Limited spawn zones make this event almost like PZ.

Idk if thats meant that way, else one could simply distribute the event ships like other elites amongst the normal ship spawns of their rank all over the map.

Well time is if you have to sail an hour to get to the limited zones they have them spawn in, but cause they spawn in only three zones it makes them also PvP hot spots.  Last night one of the PvP zone was close to one of the zones, so we came in from south after sailing for an hour to get there.  Was trying to find a ship when we got jumped by several Swedes.   When one of use that escaped out of the three there where even more Swedes out side jumping Brits in the area.  I don't mind PvP, but when you have a rare ship you can only get one way it's not fun to go try to hunt one in a ship you brought just for fighting elite ships and get ganked and than have to get a new ship and sail another hour and maybe get ganked again.   When it takes an hour to get some when you only have about 3 hour play time it gets really frustrating fast.   Last even I just logged out in that area and hunted very late at night between US prime time and when the Aussies get on.   People are bored, there aren't much folks on and they are going where there is easy targets.  If i wanted to PvP I wouldn't been over loaded with repairs and would of been able to fight better.  I came to do PvE Grind for event ships.

Like some have said they should have the ships spread all over so it doesn't cause a easy target.  Last event there was folks waiting until you got out of a fight to hit you when you where wounded and low on repairs.  That is just shitty play style and poor sportsmanship, but hay the devs have there events.

It also pisses me off cause the AdR was suppose to be a crafted ship we where waiting on, not some ship we can only get through an event.  I spent  well over 9K hours in this game back when I wasn't working, now that I'm working all the time I'm more a casual player so what little time I do I value, but if it's going to be gank fest or broken promise than I might as well move on to some other game.   Lets not even go into the fact I have spent well over 1K supporting this game.  @admin finally kinda did the math, all the DLC's are currently 314.89 dollars plus add in game price, but take way the current new DLC ship so lets say 250 per account times 5 (even tthough I have 6).   Yah I think I invested enough into your game that you should have made broke promises or bitch about any of my reviews.

On the PVE server i have gotten 8 Admiral notes so far... do not be mad when PVP happens on the PVP server. Good luck out there.

I don't mind PvP, but when your working and you  only get a few hours to play it's a waist of time when you go to an event and get jumped by folks that should be in the PvP event if they wanted PvP.   If you have 8 notes I assume you been on all day.  Some of us actually have jobs and work in the morning and can't be on all day.

  5. Well another useless night, sail to event, get jumped, loose our ships.   Well since I"m on 12's again I'm heading to bed.   Waste of an  hour sail to a zone closes.   Didn't even see an AdR...oh yah in the fleet of the group that jumped us.

Well ya'll have fun, for those that have all day this weekend to try to get a ship.  Some of us only get a small window to play and it's not fun when folks just want to jump others cause they out number and gun them.

If I wanted PvP I would of gone to the PvP event not the GANK ZONE.

Luckly I'm not doing 12 hour shifts right now (though won't be suprise if we end up doing them this weekend).   I'm plannning to pop over to PvE and try to get me a AdR for over there.  I got a lot of stuff set up for when I do finally just say to hell with it and move fully over.

Still better than getting a Fir/oak or my best one was Car/Mah, with Burmida trime.  If it was better wood for my choosing the trim wasn't bad for a AI boarding set up.   It's just to squashy though to fight elites and such.

Don't be so greedy. If you haven't lost anything, why should you get pampered by 'compensations'? Each time there is a hickup? I understand it that way that Diana event is our 'compensation' and with notes on DeRuyters, that is more than sufficient.

An event that prob should be going on several times since it first happen, not as a way to comp for not being able to log in.  I hardly log in lately cause the game been so laggy for me cause of a hub in germany before the server (yes I do trace IP to check) and of course broken promises.

It's freaking June and we haven't even gotten a decent patch this year.

i think the wrong ships are locked behind permits, say the Cherubim frigate was the only 5th rate that didnt need a permit, we would see alot more frigate gameplay atleast from other ships such as essex, belle poule, pirate frigate etc. But when you have the trincomalee, WITH NO DOUBT the third best 5th rate (behind endymion and diana) available for no permit you would be stupid to craft an inferior ship for such a small difference.

Of course it would be hard to balance it out now since we have a dlc 4th rate, 3rd rate and 1st rate, but it would help alot imo to bring some varieties

My crafter is only like 360 crew and I thought about  making some base wood ships (I got tons of WO) to put in his fleet and go grind to level him up and open some slots.  The problem with that is unless I'm fighitng higher tier ships the Doubloons, Reals and drops aren't worth it, they barely pay for the repairs.  So you have to fight above your weight class and with chance of some one jumping into your fight and taking you out cause your damage is a bit risky.  If they are going to remove the doubloons from ship crafting and bump up the REALS needed they need to bump up loot in fights.

I'm actualy waiting for this DLC to work on the Trinc so I can use those ships.

The thing ppl complained about with the old crafting system was you couldn't type 500 in a box and make 500 of an item you had to click soooo many times, otherwise it was popular and for the love of god let ppl get crafting xp for all crafting. Give a bonus if crafting ships if you absolutely must.

Remmeber when your crafted ships actually earned craftins XP so they wouldn't have to go out and grind to level up?  Something like that would be nice and we should be gettting crafting xp for other thins instead of just ships.  Maybe not on the level they had the repairs for a while where you could level up very fast by making repairs, but at least something.  That is why I also mention doing travel xp shoulid go towards ships too so to help you level up your trade ship slots.

which old crafting are you both talking about? The Unlock one? Like craft 10 trincomalees to unlock a constitution or what crafting?

The one where it meant something to be a level 50 crafter cause you could craft Master Craft stuff.    Honestly levels mean nothing other than more labor hours now and even than you don't even have to be maxed out to have enough.

The craft barrles, medium notes etc one I guess

It was fun, but I do think there was way to many mats back than, it did need to be toned down a bit.  Just not completely dumb down.

yet it created a need for additional crafters in the clan rather than alts + labor contracts.  Also helped new players earn cash (that's how I started out) and allowed them to learn the ropes with entry level crafting.

Yep I know ya'll lost a crafter or two when it changes and so did we along with many others.  There are folks that actually liked that stuff over PvP and it gave them something to do.  I remember back than we had folks that would dedicate to nothing but crafting.  We just made the sub parts for them and they would make us ships and we never ran out of them.   Hell it was partly the reason I have 6 chars.  Well 5 back than was casue I used almost all but two for econ buidling and crafting my own ships.  Now that we have so many building slots and they dumb down crafting so much I only play with three chars in Dutch and one pirate.   Back before I had all 5 in pirates and the 6 was in Dane with the chinese to play with them during there prime time.

Don't get me wrong I kinda like how it's more simple now, so I don't understand why it's being changed once again.   For those that don't like crafting they have DLC's and can just buy.  Sounds like we are running out of crafters so they are trying to make it simple for those that want crafted ships but have no craftes.  Why not give more incentive to crafting than make it even more dumb down?   I said in the past there is no incentive any more to craft......cause DLC make for cheap ships.   If a crafter got higher odds at better ships than DLCS (which I think should never be purple or gold, should only be blue).   Also stop hiding all the permits that folks want the most behind RNG loot drops.  Keep that as a free way to get the permits, but put them all back in the store and you will see more folks crafting ships.

Maybe allow crafters to pick the perk that the ship gets (Fast, Strong, Sturdy, etc) with chance of the better perk?

Maybe add in regional bonus to that list that the AI get, why can't a certain region make the Bermuda refit, another regoin another one?   Players should be able to have a chance to craft all those too.

There are so many things they can do to make crafting more intersting and get players back into it instead of trying to dumb it down.  Specially when REALS are a bitch to grind unless you do a bunch of trade runs all the time.   We are going to be right back where we are, doing a bunch of PvE to get crafting resources.

I think is crafting quantities, labor etc was reduced and the actual original ships costing less then maybe we would see more of the original ships getting used more, i gather the crafters having time to pvp and farm instead of mundane time consuming back and forth hauling will make them enjoy the game more, even mods and books should be cheaper and easier to come by, we want people out there having fun in this game not spending 100’s of hours grinding and getting their hard worked stuff getting trashed by DLC seasoned ships, the greed to push DLC and allowing people 24 hours to re-redeem didnt help the only other aspect in this game from the ship combat, there are multiple games that have their balance right and thrived, unfortunately this game never had the right balance to get the better reviews yet hence the need to get money for development somewhere to push the game work further.

Oh and the RnG sucks in this game which makes the crafting suck when u get garbage, surely that could be a port upgrade thing, the sturdy, agile builds could be from ports instead of random, and slots requiring slightly more resources instead.

Part of the problem why we don't see so many of the ships crafted is so many of them have permits locked behind RNG loot drop. I suggested before keep the RNG loot drops as free ways to get them.  Instead have them in the Admiralty shop for Doubllons and even VM's since there isn't a lot of things you can do with VM's so it would be nice if you could use them to buy permits too.   I actually thought this was what they where going to do when they mention it would be easier to get permits in the future.   I honestly would put the permits for sale for CM's instead for sale for doublons/VM's and than make the LOOT drop permits for sale for CM's.  That would allow more folks to get the ships.  Also stop hiding ships behind events that might happen once a year.  AdR should not be a  special even ship, maybe if they had a speical paint of it than I would see, like the SC is honestly just a Hermon with a special paint.   By making that ship a special event ship after saying it will be craftable pissed a lot of crafters off including myself as I been waiting for a ship I can have 32's on two decks for a long time.  Now I have one I got in the event the few hours i had to do it (was working 12 hour shifts at the time) and it's a crappy build, but hay I got it to unlock slots in.

We have DLC for those that don't want to craft so why mess with the crafters that are all ready set in there ways. I didn't see anything wrong with the current crafting ssytem but didn't understand why I was paying doubloons on top of CM's for permits for ships.  If a ship has a permit that should be the only special cost over mats.

Also why don't max level crafters get a boost to there crafting to get better chance ships crafted in ports?  I never understand this?  It use to be that way where you got to craft Master Craft stuff at level 50.  This will along with port bonus give crafting ships better match to DLC ships and folks would want to use them more.

  11. Ok if you remove the Doubloons from crafting and replace it with REALS, can you boost the REALS rewards for combat and such?  Other than making trade runs you really can't make money off combat with reals.   There needs to be some balance and I shouldn't have to spend all my time doing trade runs to get the reals I need to craft a ship.   I should be making the money while grinding AI.  You nerfded the reals so much that you have to fight way above your ships tier to make any money and with the ships buff it's very deadly to do this for most casuals.  Not to mention you get the exact same rewards for elite ships as you do for normal AI.  Again ELITES SHOULD BE GIVENING YOU ELITE REWARDS.  Give them the same boost we get for PvP battles and maybe boost PvP battles up a little more for rewards so loosing a ship isn't such a hard hit on those that actually craft and not just play DLC only ships.  The Reals you get when your ship is sunk is a joke, it doesn't even pay for the cannons you put on your ship.

I do like the idea of the nation modifier though, the buff to smaller nations would seem to be a good thing.

There should be a port cap like set it to 55.  Just the system means that smaller nations and clans that don't own a big 55 point port can invest to get something better than they start with.  I suggested this on the new patch page that there needs to be a cap or you will have all the big clans/nations with maxed out ports and the small nations and clans wont have crap and they can't compete against such ships. There needs to be some incentive to help the small clans/nations out against the big ones or you get the snow ball effect like we have with MOTHER RUSSIA and no one being able to take them on.

To be honest the only way some one can take on Russia is going to be all nations against them at war and the only way that is going to happen is Devs got to get involved but they won't cause well they show high favourtism and ignore actual suggestions that would help and balance this game.

Russian Nation, that's hilarious. I hope you are vetting these guys strongly because  I'd bet some are the same players telling me they are an alt for another nation and ask to be let go.

More alts sailing traders in Gulf under Russian flag with or without clan tags than any other, especially low to medium ranks.  Easy to pick out, they either flat out tell you, delayed in dropping sail once battle starts, or don't drop sail at all.

The easy solution to alts you tag, if I'm not in the TS with you and in your clan or nation.  Than I'm not an alt of the person they said and your sinkable.  That was the Rule BLACK had on PvP2 and I still keep to that rule.  If your not in coms and I don't know your alts name (we pretty much knew all our alts).  I'm going to sink you.  It was allways funny cause folks would say, "I'm Texas alt."  Knowing I had a few, but not knowing all mine where in Pirates except the one in Danes for the most part.  So if it was US or GB it wans't my alt.    Sink them if they are truelly alts they make enough to make up for there lost any way.

When new players join the game, They should be shown how many players the different nation has and how many port they have.
this is can go both ways of course. But many players want to play a game because it has challenges. Like joining small factions.

it is so boring with 650 player online and maybe 20-30% is alts

are do like other games do, lock out some factions that are over populated or give negative xp/creds to those nations/factiosn and give bonus xp/creds to the ones that need numbers.

The other thing is I think impossible nations should not be part of chargen.  If you want to make one than you have to play so many hours and than either delete your char and start over or use forge papers.   Even better just make it so you can't use forge papers with them.   Than agian I think pirates should not be chargen and we should go back to the old way to become a pirate.  Attack some one of your nation in game and you after the second time become a pirate.  Only way to come back to a Nation as a pirate should be delete your char or use forge papers.

Alts are nothing more than more players you can kill in other nations (unless they are like me and I have all mine in the nation I play pluss one pirate currently and retired Sir Texas Sir in US under a diffrent name).   If you meet me under any of my alt accounts I expect the same fight as if it was one of my mains.   There is nothign 5 players can't don't that my 5 alts can do if they are just orgnized and work together.  So stop thinking of them as alts, just think of them as extra players that you can kill.

Though honestly a lot of folks I know that stopped playing has been cause of recent changes to the game and the AdR being none craftable and only rare ship after we waited so long for it.  I pretty much given up on this game, can't RvR cause no one can match the Russian population.  Can't really Solo play cause you get ganked by groups.  Can't play the ships you want cause most of them are locked behind extremly stupid RNG loot droops or saved for Rare events....I mean what we might have one a year so I won't see the AdR until another year from now?   Elite loot still crap and doesn't give you elite rewards.

Thanks for the explaination.  Seemly like a simple fix to adress absentee clans owing ports forever.  Just change the mechanics so that the process is not automatic, but manual. At least manual every couple weeks, or months.

Manual wouldn't be good for those of us with real lives.  What if we skip a payment cause we are working?  I just came off doing 12 hour shifts since the first of the year and I can't be on all the time as clan leader compared to back when I was on all the time.  That is why folks are suggesting actual in game mechanics.

So port fees/tax  is paid automatically,  no action is required by the port clan?

Perhaps it would help if the port owner-clan is required to actively make a monthly payment.

Every morning after maintenance down time it comes out of the Clan bank, if the funds or short it comes from the create.  If that is short than ports will drop, but if some one puts millions in there and or the port makes enough money to pay for it self it will just stay with the clan.   When funds are short it starts to drop ports if more than one is owned.  It pays the tax according to oldest port own and than the next port and next until funds run out.  So if you own 5 ports and only can pay for 4, the newest one will drop first.

If you need 10 year tech advantage to win against the AI  that has equal strenght to you, you must be doing something wrong.

When I play Custom i have to make AI 2-3 times stronger if i want to have challenging game.

While I don't play this game,, but in there other UA and UG game I have brought this up cause they have Easy, Normal, and Hard.  Not every one is an expert player as some players are.  If your struggling to fight in Easy there is a problem.  Normal should be the normal play for folks and should give a bit of a challenge.  I hear a lot of guys in UA:AoS say Hard is to easy, but that is them, they aren't the normal casual player that will play the game and might thing normal is hard as hell.  There was an isssue with AI in UG:CW where they would take to much risk and charge all the time breaking your units effectively making easy mode more like hard mode to some.   So some times game balance does need to be looked at.    Another example in UA:AoS if you bring three ships of one BR the AI matched that with three like ships.  If you sold those three ships and bought one bigger ship of about the same matching BR as the three total.  The AI would bump up the tier ship to match yours, but you still faced 3 ships.  So even on EASY mode this just became ultra hard mode.   I haven't played in a while so not sure if they fixed this or not, but it was an issue that turned some matches into hard mode when they shouldn't be cause balance wasn't working right in game.

As for the OP, some times taking a break from a game and coming back helps,  Remember it's in EA still and they are tweeking the game.  Also check out other players videos, some times it's a the simplest things we are doing wrong that hurt us in battle.

  20. It's been suggested many times that we need some system to remove dead clans and ALT clans within you nations.   While on PvE they have the Raiders attack lesser used ports, this suppose to be a means to remove them, but it doesn't help if it's an active port that folks actually use (not the dead clan or said alt clan) and well it isn't on the PvP server.   Even a simple hand off port in Nation would help a lot as it's been a problem too where if you drop a port it looses investment and you have risk of others taking it cause the AI window might not be in your window of operation.   Best solution for the last part there is to not have a set window the first day a port is dropped so if it's a trade off it can be done, than have AI set a window for that port.    Drop ports don't have cool downs so this wouldn't effect lost ports to AI (on PvE server) or to players (on PvP).

We are deliberatly stating North Americas. If you could get to Americas you could get to Caribbean. Read up about Russian adventures on the west coast and alaska.

Its really simple.. Original choice in 2013 was 3 nations but then we researched the subject. First addition was United States, because we wanted USS constitution in game. If United States (did not exist before 1775) get in - all nations who were present get in.

I'm sure ya'll will change this any way, but wasn't the game time period for ships 1700 to 1820 as the cut off.  Since US was a nation dureing that time it makes since.  Not 1600 colonies that only lasted 4 years.

I honestly don't give a fact about adding more nations in game, but I do think we need a faction system so that it's only like 4 major factions fighting against each other (made up of multi nations) with a few sub factions (Impossible nations and Pirates).   This way you can bring all the flags and nations you want into the game and folks can play what ever nation they want, but you still have to fight for your factions.  Just change the factions make up every 3-4 months and it will not grow boring and stale.

Its normal. Typically you just dont board elite ai

and boarding ai in general is still a gamble

Than they shouldn't have events that you have to board the AI to capture the ships.  I was taking a christian board fitted against the SC and Diana's and struggling to board them with more crew.  How the hell do you capture an Admiraal de Ruyter if you can't board them?   In these cases we have bring a bigger ship and it has to be fully board modded.  A none board moded ship would most likely take for ever or loose the fight.

Than you get a crappy green fir/oak ship as a rewards.......ELITE SHIPS SHOULD GIVE ELITE REWARDS.

6 hours ago, Sea Archer said:

Never board elite ai. Why do you have to board every ship? Simply sink and loot them.

Some of us don't board every ship, but if I'm a privateer with all the board mods I should be able to board ships instead of ducking it out, specially if it's a much more powerfull ship broad side than mine.   Also why should I play only one style?  It's an open world sand box so I should be able to play it how I want.

My issue isn't the defence side of the ELITE AI.  It's the power level they have.  Even when you are completly board fitted and have more marines and muskets and crew than Elite AI they have way more firepower than you do.   It's not balanced at all. I get they don't want us to just rage board every ship out there and normally most of us don't do that, but it's the only way to get some of the rewards and rare ships is you have to capture them.

The other issue as above, why do we get crap ships, ELITE SHIPS should always be seasonal woods combo as you fight an ELITE ship, than it should give you an ELITE REWARD.   I get if it drops a note, but that note should be ELITE quality ship not some random trash ship that was no where close to what you just fought.  Even more of a joke is when you don't get notes or cannons and all you get is repairs or another stupid D**** PUMP.......
