  1. First of all I totally support making the Wappen a heavily armed trader. If it could carry 2000-3000 weight, I would start to use it for escorting my Indiaman's. But ->

I disagree to buffing it's fighting and speed capabilities. I do not think the Wappen needs a buff, it is just ugly! So it is not so popular to use because your forced to look at it and this effects the player usage stats of the ship. This is a real argument, I'm not kidding! :P
It has a lot of cannons and the turn rate is very good, so it's probably the best line ship for fighting smaller 5. rates etc. Especially if your into demasting.. So it is covering a niche perfectly, why mess with this?
I fear that if it is made faster then it will be able to run/hunt down most 5. rates with ease when it is speed built.

People who complain about DLC ships always complain about DLCs in every game. They don't want subscription, and yet they dont want DLC and demand things without offering means to achieve them. They now complain that we have flags. Their shouting hides possibly real complaints (about turn rates or maybe HP)

Nope. I bought DLC's on 3 different accounts and I don't mind DLCs as long as it is not pay to win, because I like this game and I want to support it. But the state those ships where in when they where release as DLCs should have been followed by an immediate apology statement from you guys because they where so OP players where forced to buy them. Edit to avoid wrath of the gods: "Imho - I ❤️Devs ❤️"

I only commented (= 😭) about the Hercules in the beginning because I did not use the Le Requin that much. I think the Hercules is close to properly balanced now, the high BR makes it OP when screening shallow water pb fleets, but at least they are out of the pb them self so great! In the shallow patrol you can bring 2 normal shallow water ships for every Hercules, so it is not OP there anymore.
The Le Requin is another story. I do hate that ship because I can't manual sail it properly, but I ended up fitting all mine with Elite Pirate Rig refit and that is OP fast, period. Te/Wo would hit speed cap in battle at 90% sails left and no other speed skill or mod. That is after the nerf some time ago, that from my point of view only nerfed the speed directly with the wind. I did not notice any other change when testing my ships..  But I have not used it in the last 2-3 months so this info could be outdated.

I'm not sure how the physics works in this game, but I do believe that the insane sail force the Le Requin has in the up wind direction, gives it an OP ability to push other square rigged ships against the wind (and then boarding). The acceleration/deceleration it self tells a tale imo, it's like a power boat ffs. But I have never sailed a Le Requin with out pirate rig refit/Elite Pirate Rig refit, so maybe it is not so stupidly OP fast if it was unable to use those mods.

Anyway I got boarded by one of the many famous Le Requin pirate Captains in the Nassau Patrol a week ago. And the way that was done the me, my crew and my beautiful but to slow Niagara was so incredibly annoying and ugly! so it is the main reason I'm posting this comment (= 😭x2). I did learned that I should stay down wind form that player when I'm in a shallow square rigged ship.. But then again I need to be upwind of a Le Requin to have a chance at sinking it.. So I really hate that ship!

    • First you need 10 players willing to lose their line ships to grind hostility. Nobody counter attack and it is boring and very little rewarding. If enemy do counter attack the hostility then your at a huge disadvantage so the risk i HIGH.
    • Then your need the players (6-25) willing to lose their RvR (normally good wood quality ships, often line ships) for PB it self and you also need a screening fleet to get the pb fleet successfully into the PB.
    • Then if you are successful you have to pay for they port..

IMO the real question is why should anyone bother with RvR.. And I'm sure RvR activities has been on a steady decline ever since the cost of ownership update, and while it was kinda limping on it got executed recently by the line ship doubloon cost. So most RvR players are bored..

  3. Why not just remove "birds view" from OW? I like it in battle for spectating and recording in the battle or checking on team mates, but why do we need it in OW? I use it in OW to hunt near enemy ports. I hide out of view from the port, behind somthing with sails down and then I use the birds view to scout when a enemy player leaves the port. I never considered that an exploit until now.. But that is actually exploiting imo! :(

People prefer ganks becuase it makes them feel sucessfull when they don't sink and kill somoene else.

That's just not true for all. If I'm on the winning side and I know I had an unfair advantage, then I don't get the same joy out of it as if it was a fair battle. If I'm part of a gank and we win I get zero joy out of it, it is not challenging = not fun.

Side note: RvR is dead now, so the access to fair battles is very limited and this is killing the game for me at the moment..

Edit: Sorry for dragging it furter off topic :(

Tell me you wouldn't destroy doubloons if you sank a few people and saw 25 outside on the OW with knowing you have no chance to run away.

    I would not.

In the past I have deleted repair hauls just to deny it to my enemy, but I regretted doing because - what a waist! So decided not to repeat it, hunters should be rewarded for sailing around in OW. If I'm in a single trader I will delete trade goods to increase my speed, but I will under no circumstances delete sealed bottles, doubloons or books just to deny it to my enemy. I love loot a lot more than I hate my enemies, you guys should be thankful for this 😄

  6. The only problem I see here is that you bast**** destroyed the doubloons.. I like the fact that you have to carry your loot around with you in the hold until you get to a port, gives other players a chance to get your loot and this is fun IMO. If you are allowed to move doubloons to your wallet/chest in OW, then it should drop doubloons from that chest when you die imo.

I vote make doubloons indestructible! xD

  7. I have made 1 golden ship so far, oak/oak Indiman - and some filthy pirates sunk it yesterday! xD
I like it the way it is right now, give us some extra thrill when crafting. Getting a super ship is extremely rare and seriously all the times I'm so sure the opponent has a purple or golden ship, 9/10 times it's just a good player with decent upgrades and skill books in a normal blue ship. So I do not see an issue here and I would like to keep it as it is.

Edit: Would like to ad that I know it is stupid but it is just how I'm made, so if I ever get a good line ship I'm sure I would put all my best mods on that baby and just have it collect dust in the docks, because I would not dare to sail here out in fear of loosing it.. xD
    ❤️my pixels!

  8. Sit so close that you can see the "Can't enter enemy port" for 15 minutes, then you can receive loot chest that is heavy 2000 in weight for deep water and 1000 for shallow water port. After receiving the loot the player should not be able to enter enemy ports anymore (to easy to hide) and then when a port is raided the nation owning the port should be notified: "the port X was just raided by player X".

    Let the hunt begin ;)

    Maybe DLC for permit only?
Not gonna break the rules of disturbing the economy, as You will still need to craft it (not like Hercules/Requin)
Not gonna break the balance because Bucentaure is exactly on par to it.

    Pretty much cosmetic DLC ;)

A genius walks among us lads ;)

  10. I would really like to have this back. So after you have visited a port then you can see on the map what it produces and consumes. If somethings change you lose those details from map, but that tells you something has changed so you should revisit it to find out more :)

Back in the day this was promoting exploration like it did in the beginning and make us less dependent on 3. party applications for effective access to this kind of information..
