  1. I use DLC ships for multiple reasons.

    • I can redeem it where ever I need it, so it saves me a tow.
    • I get to chose the exact wood combination, what ever type I want with out having to find, buy and haul the exotic woods to a crafting port.
    • I often use redeemed ships to four fill a very specific task right then and there. When the task is done I sometimes destroy the ship, if I'm low on dock space. This saves me from having multiple tailor crafted and fitted ships models in different wood combinations holding up dock slots and awaiting their time to shine. All my ships are basically the same setup, and if I need something outside my normal setup, I just redeem, use and sink or later destroy.

Now most of my favorite ships require permits to be crafted. Permits require me to either grind doubloons, combat medals or reals to buy the others. And I do not sail out and get resources to craft 1 ship. For me crafting is a gathering/hording process I do not enjoy at all. So I gather tings one by one in ridiculous quantities som when I'm done  I will not have to repeat the process for a very long time. Now the exotic woods are hard to get and  if you want large amounts you need to grind doubloons to access it. It just feels like you put up this grinding wall for crafting good ships. If the permits where just for the line ships I would say nothing against it, but for Trincomalee and Surprise!? That's my workhorses, at least they used to be..
When you at the same time release 2 new DLC ships I feel forced to buy those and that is when I start to get a bad feeling.

Please balance ship crafting so replacing 7. - 5. rates is easy! Replacing 4. rate should be noticeable more difficult and the difficulty should escalate for the larger ship rates. But again it should be possible for all players to craft a 1. rate, given enough time. To clarify: remove all permits for smaller ships than 4. rates and give us more ports that spawn the exotic woods, or inform the player base of where alle the forest are located and lower the doubloon price for collecting 5000 woods from  the port. Lowering the doubloon price will make it more attractive to actually take the port, and it helps if we know where it is also..

And there i was sad i couldn't test the pandora and thinking it would only come out at release.

I have the same problem, i bought the game dec 2014, but i have no pandora dlc.

Wonder where you got that idea form, that's just BS! 🤣  I have it as redemable now also :)

Captains, is the problem still on?

Right now I'm in queue nr 14. waiting to log in.

Startet in que nr 39, then it increased to 44 and now as I type I'm pushged back to queue position 17!!

  4. I had this yesterday, but I could not log onto Steam eiter so I assumed it was related to that. Later in the evening I tried again and then I got into steam and NA worked fine.

  5. I see the need for this for a casual player. losing your traders with all your gold invested or a warship, and beeing left with 0 reals is a real pain.

But what if all the clan players at the end of each day send all their reals to the clan inventory. And the day after they get 10-50K because they where broke..That would actually be abused after a wipe, so the tax collector needs to check the clans current reals holding also. And then the alts clan warehouse etc. So It is never ending..

Better to make a special tutorial for bankrupt captains, where they enter sink/capture a ship and get 10-50K reals to continue their journey. And limit this to once per day in connection with steam account.

  6. Crew space trim gives you more crew, but it might not be visible until you actually enter a combat, because it just gives an % increase based on the number of crew you have on the ship. Not sure, but back in the day we had a green + number when we used extra hammocks.

There are also some skill books in admiralty/pirate den (in port), that gives increased crew hp and bording morale penalty, those give you more crew, but I don't remember the name of those books. We also have the light ship hammocks only for 6. - 7. rates that basically are the old extra hammocks and then you can the bonus "Cramped" or "Very cramped" when crafting the ship.

  7. L'Hermione as a DLC ship, sweet! It's a good ship, with out being OP in any way, very well balanced. Pandora, looking forward to it no mater what happens.

On the other hand I'm surprised by the "baby lineship DLC" announcement for the Rattvisan (Ретвизан) 24lb gun forth rate. And it is giving me a bad feeling because we have not seen or tested that ship. And by looking at the stats it looks like it is going to be a very powerful 4. rate. At least the BR looks high, so this is good news for RvR! :)

Imo because we needed doubloons and permits to craft Agamemnon, Wappen Von Hamburg,  Constitution and the Ingermandland we got used to thinking that 4. rates where baby line ships. Back in the days we had AI captured 3rd rates and we used them a lot! It was fun. We also had a short (imo) period with ship notes in exchange for doubloons (Surprise, L'Hermione, Wasa, Bellona etc) and I'm a big fan of easy to good ships for all players.
But having a brand new disposable baby line ship every day will effect how careful we are with those. And considering how difficult it is to craft ships in good woods, the reinforcement zones are getting removed/nerfed, I think it is safe to say that you can expect to see these ships with enemy fags near your home port soon! :D

I'm getting one of those 3 click baby-line-ships asap, that for sure! 😈

You are in a Bellona (500BR ) getting tagged by 1 fast Hercules (110 BR) and 1 Endymion (280 BR) that makes you 500 BR vs them 390 BR, let me put 1 more LRQ into enemy team (100BR). They just keep rigging damage on you, stern raking you. What is the BR now your 500 against their 490 and 15 minutes later a speed fitted boarding Victory will join the enemy. Nobody will come help you, battle will close in few minutes, it is game over in admin's fair fight and more pvp fantasy.

This is already started to be used by some PVP clans, I assure you it will be the Meta. So gank squads are happier than ever, because they know if they keep enemy long in battle, their big brother is on the way to finish the job. (I was the victim twice and it is already happening)

I think this is a bit of topic = sorry! But if the Bellona scenario is real, then that's a serious issue imo. So when it is 490BR vs 500BR, the 10 BR opening will allow a 800 BR ship join that side?
    What happens then?

If it opens for entry on the 500BR side, I'm impresses and think this is a very good working mechanic. But it instant closes for both sides, then that's a bit broken.. Right!?
And if this is the case wtf are the gankers crying about? xD

EDIT: TESTED: 2 ship 800 BR vs 1 ship 900 BR and the battle closed instantly, so Bellona scenario was just BS.

  9. Are you seriously going to promote changing ROE so the gankers do not end up in equal fights and can keep ganking with out getting interrupted by players joining the fight? That is the stupidest thing ever! Why bother sailing into OW if there is nothing there. The 2 minute timer removed content from OW. I sailed for 2-3 hours several times and there was nothing in OW except in the reinforcement zones.. If you where in port when a battle started, then you could just ignore it. Now I have to sail out and help clan/nation mates all the time. This is a massive difference!  Not to mention the fact that you can sail to enemy nations front line and find OW battles you can join (gankers should like this feature).

Besides all efforts to support ganking playstyle just breaths shit players, so it kills the game for those looking for real fights. More important imo is for nations to be able to assist their own players when they get ganked. Stuff like this I believe will keep more players in the game.

There is some panic going on here in the PvE and ganking community and I have the solution for y'all:

PvE'ers: Do kill missions, group missions or attack AI fleets with higher BR then your own.
PvP hunters: Just attack targets with more BR than you have and problem is solved. Stop hunting players in trader brigs in Bellonas!!!
Gankers: How about you learn to play fighting in more equal fights? This can be good practice for you guys, if you do not run and actually fight together.

But all ships can have solo duels in the solo patrol area.

I'm confused now.. It states 6. rates for inner circle for Nassau patrol, 1. rate for the inner circle of Aves patrol and 5. rate for inner circle near Jeremie (Leogane patrol maybe!?).

Are you saying that all rates can do solo patrol, but only the ship rates listed get a extra bonus for doing it? That in unnecessary complicated, I have not bothered doing it because I thought I had to have that ship rate to be able to do it..

  11. Hostility missions = Patrol battle instance right outside the designated port. BR limit equal to attackers fleet, but with a minimum BR requirement related to the BR needed for PB.
When attackers enter with enough BR defending nation is notified. If no defender join with enough BR within 30-45 minutes = PB set.

If defender joins with full fleet, the team that sinks the most BR wins the battle. Simple!

    Waiting for the bigger ships.
We cannot code in fleet cargo checks in the reasonable time because everyone is working on other more important features for next patch.

Are we getting a new large trader? :D Or is "bigger ship" just a different way of stating that we have to wait for a fleet cargo check feature? 🤔

  13. The guys I play with reported that deadmans cay patrol is empty 2-3 times in a row, so I'm not sailing down there to verify that. They also reported no AI ships in the area, so nothign to pass the time with either.

Please just do Nassau x2. Most players have port, ships and supply in close proximity to the Nassau Patrol and that ensures a low effort to sail out.

I like Nassau patrol, please give me more of it! xD

  14. I totally support this, nobody should be hunting in a nations safe zone. Only reason we would do that is because the nation is low on players/weak.

The way it works today it is almost like this. Only exceptions are for the rookies that are not aware of the reinforcement feature and never calls the AI for help, and  the boarding fitted Le Requin hunters. The Le Requin are still able to kill players in the safe zone, because they do a quick bording, sink the player and then run upwind and escape the AI.

The AI that spawns are 2 ships, both equal to the BR of the enemy player. I belive they are epic AI because they are hard to kill, fast and deal a lot of damage. I now avoid engagements in the safe zone of enemy nations, but for the Le Requin the AI that spawns are normally square rigged ships I belive (I have never seen AI sail Le Requin). So easy for Le Requin to just sail upwind and escape.
