  1. We had 6-7 to take the other Santi. We managed to demast, rake and board it within 40 minutes. So I was expecting us to be able to demast and cripple the Santi if not sink it within the full time limit with two ships. We were able to get closer with our other fleet because we had more Frigates and the Santi was attempting to run rather than engage us in direct combat. What Tommy seems to have wanted us to do, was allow his fleet to escape while he used his Santi as a barrier and then allow his Santi to leave because we are too small to challenge it? That makes no sense what so ever.
  2. This is the second Santi that we have had the pleasure of fighting in our Frigates. The last one we captured and sold onto Gamover. That was also a GOLD Santi with GOLD enhancements. That time we had a few more frigates with us but we managed to accomplish it in a much smaller time frame. So by our reckoning we should have been able to do the same but over a longer time period. At the end of the day there NEEDS to be a down side to having a SOL. That downside is that they are cumbersome and easily harassed by smaller ships. To tackle this you should always be accompanied by smaller ships... AKA Frigates. This should provide you with the adequate protection to fend off attackers like us. Tommy HAD those frigates and then decided to send them away. At the end of the day if a SOL is caught in open water by itself, then it is that players own fault and the attacker should not be penalised. I agree that tagging needs some work but what happened to Tommy is the risk you take when you decide to sail solo in the largest ship in the game. There MUST be consequences for being singled out and found alone in your SOL. Otherwise why would EVERYONE not simple sail SOLs?
  3. So what you are saying here is that people with large ships, sailing alone, should be completely immune to smaller ships harassing them and that we should either attempt to rush them or allow them to retreat? There is a reason that large ships should have escorts. If he chose to send his escorts away and expected us to simply allow him to leave with his ship instead of sitting outside of his range and peppering him then that is his failing. What this comes down to here is he has the biggest ship in the game, with the best enhancements and the most gold invested in it so we should not be able to touch him and he should be immune to our pitiful frigates? Then when we sit outside of his range because hes decided to take medium or cannonades he has the right to complain? All this AFTER he sent his PROTECTIVE fleet away?
  4. And yet the Santi had his sails completely up. So we MUST have been doing damage to his masts...
  5. But we were still doing damage to his masts, hence he was kept in the fight. I'm not 100% sure how it works but if we are damaging the masts, even slightly, it may take awhile but we should still be able to score a demast eventually? We are allotted a battle time by the game in order for us to either sink or do as much damage to the enemy ship as possible. Shelby decided to send his entourage away and use his Santi as a block to prevent us from getting them before they escaped. We were using ships that could cause damage to the Santi. He chose to stay in the battle and not retreat by using his frigates and their NPCs as cover so why would we not attempt to do as much damage as possible to him while also attempting to stay outside of his range? Are you saying that we should either rush the Santi or leave him? Lets put it this way. Should a ship that only mounts cannonades complain when a smaller ship with longs sits outside of his range picking him apart over time?
  6. Sorry, excuse my ignorance here but why would we not have been able to demast the Santi?
  7. I do not see why we would not have been able to win? If we had managed to demast the ship then we would have been able to out manuvour his broadsides and close the range in order to significantly damage him. Even if we had not managed to sink him, we could do enough damage to possibly cripple him in the larger fights happening in the area.
  8. I am a rather new player. So I do apologise if I have some how broken the rules however I have only attempted to fight a ship which is larger than me. Shelby CHOSE to send his fleet away and leave him in combat with us. What he is saying is that he should be able to push us back, allow his fleet to escape to engage in another battle and then once they are gone we should either rush into him and die to his cannons or allow him to retreat....... Sorry but this seems wrong to me?
  9. So admit that you deliberately left your SOL in combat with two Frigates while ordering your support away. I am sorry but you then expect us to leave you? Basically you are saying that you have the right to automatically disengage against frigates because you are in a Santi?
  10. Yes it does matter. We picked a fight with ships that should have easily have been able to run us down and engage us in combat. They chose to leave while Shelby attempted to engage us. That is not our issue. If Shelbys team mates decide to abandon him then that is something you need to discuss with them. Not point the finger at the enemies and attempt to blame them. There are disadvantages to being in such a large and cumbersome ship, if he is caught without his entourage then he is basically caught with his pants down.
  11. That is the thing. He had two frigates + accompanying NPC fleets with him. All of which left while he attempted to rush us to kill us. We out manoeuvred him. Our intention was to single him out from the rest of his fleet yes but it was not to try and keep him pointlessly in combat but to actually sink it. We are not however going to exchange broadsides with the Santi. We were aiming to demast it so we could get around his broadsides and begin raking him or punching through his armour at a closer range.
  12. Again, The Santi brought 2 other US players with him in frigates who could have engaged us. They also brought NPCs with them. They chose to retreat from the battle and leave us fighting the Santi. We are not then going to retreat from the fight but instead we are going to do everything we can in order to inflict damage upon the ship we are fighting.
  13. At that range we could not see what damage you had taken. We were sure we were hitting your masts consistently because we were effectively keeping you in battle. Which means by your own words we were getting penetration against your masts. Also Sails do not give an accurate representation of mast damage as far as I can tell. Sails can be 99% then drop instantly to 50% with the demasting of a ship.
  14. I am sorry but I do not see how I am being passive aggressive at all in this. We pulled in Shelby in his Santi and he brought with him 2 US players in frigates. The Frigates ditched him. We were attempting to de mast the Santi so that we could then out manuvour and attack him proper. What you are basically saying here is that because you are a higher ranked player in a larger and better armed ship, you should be immune to frigates attacking you? I have only been playing this game for a few weeks. So excuse me if I have broken a rule here in attempting to attack and sink something that may be out of my league. However I thought we were doing a very good Job in avoiding his broadsides while putting fire back into him. We used the wind to keep him away from us and eventually he gave up and decided to just sit there and whine at us in chat while we continued to chip away at his masts until he left the battle. If it had continued and we managed a demast then we would have split and approached closer in an attempt to cause more significant damage. However we were not about to rush a Santi while its masts were still up. This is a valid strategy and I believe one that was used in real life when attacking larger and less agile ships with smaller frigates. We are not going to duke it out at close range with something that could turn us to splinters with a single broadside. We were also not in cutters, we were in a Constitution and a Tricom. Both of which are capable of penetrating the Santi armour.
  15. Unfortunately this is when I changed over from live stream to record because I was rather excited that we were managing to beat a Santi in combat with our frigates so I wanted to record it. You can see that I hit him because the red timer on my screen shows 01:00. Which means I hit him 30 seconds ago and he has 60 seconds left until he can leave. I am sure the Admin will confirm his findings once he looks into it.
  16. A Random quote does not explain yourself.
  17. This has been made in an attempt to divert the fact that we have raised a Tribunal incident against Tommy Shelby. At no point in that picture do you see me stating anything that would be considered passive aggressive. Allow me to explain the entire situation. The Pirate fleet was in the process of moving to cap another US town after we had just captured one. One of their cutters managed to drag in a large amount of our fleet along with several large NPC US ships. After we managed to get out of this we were slightly split and unable to get the flag to the port we needed to so we held up in a friendly port. Unable to leave the port, one of our ST Pavels attacked the US fleet in an attempt to allow our Santi and the flag to leave. Just as our Santi was leaving with the flag the US players managed to get out of their battle. The US has 2 Santis, A Vic and several frigates. Myself and my friend managed to single out Tommy Shelby in his Santi, in our Frigates and pull him into a battle almost at the same time that the US guys pulled our Santi into combat. So it split into two fights. Shortly after we engaged the Santi, two US frigates with full NPC accompaniment joined. They chose to leave while we kept attacking the Santi attempting to demast it while staying at max range. Tommy then began to complain that we were griefing him and gave up trying to fight us as we managed to outmanoeuvre and out range him.
  18. Hello chaps. Please find my video. It is not perfect but it has been viewed by an admin who verified it. They will be looking into the F11 tomorrow to identify exactly what happened. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hZPpgqR8nY. I am still attempting to get a better res on it so you can see it clearer but I am not very technically minded and I can not figure out how to sort it. If you look between 10-13 seconds however you will see the red timer tick from 01:00 to 00:59. This timer had started from the last penetrating hit I had landed on Tommy. Less than a few seconds later he vanishes from the game causing the end of the match. Hope this helps shed some light on the issue.
  19. Right. Since you seem happy to jump on me even though I was asked to submit this onto the Tribunal by your own clan and the admins I will explain a few things. Firstly, I do have a video which I will be uploading. We were not intending to simply sit there and hold him in battle all day, we were attempting to demast him so that we can move in and begin to work on his armour. We had effectively kept him in battle for 30 minutes or so at this point, from this range, with our long cannons and he was unable to reach us. At the point of Tommy Leaving the battle, I had just landed several hits on him which ensured I was stuck in battle and he should have also been. I had over a minute left of my timer. The US fleet are the ones who initially attempted to split OUR fleet. We happened to be left out of the main conflict and pulled in Tommy in his Santi. He was supported by two frigates who then left. I am still attempting to upload the footage so that you can see what I mean. Admins are also reviewing the case as I put in a report as soon as it happened in the battle.
  20. How did we have no intention of fighting, we were hitting him consistantly. Sorry if we do not want to get in range of your Santis guns.
  21. As I have stated. I am attempting to find a way to upload onto Youtube or onto Twitch in decent definition.
  22. I currently have it recorded on Xsplit - I was streaming at the time. I am just trying to figure out how to upload it onto my Twitch now or onto Youtube. Sorry I am a bit of a rookie streamer.
  23. Hello, Fellow Captains and members of the Tribunal, I look to you for a sound judgement and ruling on the following issue. At approximately 22:20 hours UK, Myself and SirZech assaulted Captain Tommy Shelby in his Santisima off the coast of Cuba. We were in a Constitution and a Tricom so heavily out gunned. Two of his firends also joined but left shortly after while we concentrated fire on the Santisima to keep it in the battle. After 20 minutes of chasing, dodging and attacking we had discovered that Tommy had only brought medium cannons, so we massively out ranged him with our longs. Tommy put his sails up as if accepting defeat and we set about attempting to demast him. Tommy then began to complain that we were 'griefing' him. When we stated we would continue to fight and intended to sink him something very strange happened. With 1:20 seconds left on my leave timer from having just hit him, he dissapeared completely. He was unavailable in game just after also as if he has disconnected. I have this recorded on video and I will upload it when I can. (First time I used twitch video) I believe this was an intentional exploit of game mechanics in order for him to escape the battle and save his ship and or deny it from us. This has happened multiple times recently with US players from a specific group and I would not have believed it if I had not witnessed it myself and recorded it also. For the consideration of the Tribunal. If I am mistaken for some reason then I apologise. However with his comments, followed by him leaving and then being offline in game.. I can not think of any other way this could have happened. Thank you, Yours Sincerely, Captain Kuthara.
