  1. I think sometimes people forget this is a game, they roll play as if it were real life and a real war that they were really fighting in real life. As always it's quite usually a two way street, if something isn't realistic with the ganking they go ape, but if it's anything else that is unrealistic they are OK with it. The problem with that is, it's not fun. Most PvP consisting of ganks is boring and a rotten experience on the open world. You cannot avoid them if your enemy has a superior force and tags you, the new postional reinforcements will have you done in within a few minutes. Unfair fights are great, but gank squads are just for people who want to troll players, they get enjoyment out of making the people they gank have a miserable, boring time on the game. That is their goal. Ganking isn't fun, no matter what way you put it. And this is a game, and it is played for enjoyment. If the open world is consisting of mostly ganks, then something is seriously wrong.
  2. What? You could still be ganked, and outnumberd. I'll tell you this, ganking someone 20v4 isn't thrilling, but having a neck and neck PvP where it's so even you don't know who is going to win for the most part of the PvP until the final broadside finally takes down a mast or sends an enemy to the bottom of the sea. That's thrilling fun PvP, not ganks. When you already know your fate before the battle starts. Lame PvP, no skill, no challenge for boring people. No offence. I'm going to play a soccer game later, my team has 85 people and the other team has 12. Should be fun.
  3. We want UNFAIR FIGHTS, not seal clubbing zerg ganks. Also I wouldn't say sailing solo doing Econ is sailing "solo". You aren't looking for fights are you? Sailing solo is not someone that sails solo in a trader, that would be sailing in a warship looking for fights. So in other words you only sail solo in traders to do econ but the only time you fight is with a group to protect your back?
  4. I'll do what you have been doing. If you sail solo so often, then why are you so worried about not being able to gank for then?
  5. Lol you don't get it do you? For Everyone who wants less ganking, is not the fact that they can't avoid ganks, it's that that IS what most of the PvP consists of. It can take you hours to find a fight that isn't a gank. And now avoiding ganks being easy, that is less true, because even if you defensive tag. The enemy can just sail past the original tag and spawn infront of you.
  6. It's not unrealistic. The open world is sped up, it is compressed speeds. So you are actually way behind where you would be when you enter the battle. The battles are Real time and the open world is compressed time. So teleporting 25 ships into a battle after a tag is unrealistic. Maybe we should have real life sailing times without any compression? That will fix the problem, right?
  7. This comes up every time on a thread like this. Gankers have the one extreme to the other. You either are a ganker or you want 1v1s. Theirs no in between. After explaining that we like unfair fights, not zerg ganks about 94549 times they still do not understand. It's like they can't comprehend it or something, I don't know. I Bet if you asked them what an unfair fight was they wouldn't understand.
  8. Seriously stop it, you are making yourself look bad. Atleast contribute to the topic instead of telling every single player to go play arena, each one of us players has a right to an opinion and if we feel the open world is being ruined because all that's left is zerg ganks than we have the right to do that. If we don't like zerg ganks, and you are getting upset about that, so be it. Not everyone here wants this to happen to the open world, or be in a zerg.
  9. You are forgetting those in the middle, those who don't like to gank and are not all about 1v1s, 2v2s and so on. The players who like unfair fights such as 3v6, 2v4, 5v8, 8v14, 7v12 and do like being outnumberd and having a challenge. Just not fighting a fleet that is impossible to defeat which is pointless and not worth your time. Theirs not just a group that likes ganking, and another group that likes 1v1s. So right now, basically the only fun right now is for those who don't find ganking boring. The truth is here people just want FUN battles that you know you aren't going to get murderd in within a few minutes. If we still have a 85% chance of losing every single ship we bring into the battle we don't care as long as the battle is FUN. Not being pulled into a battle, you look at the teams and you say. Well this is going to be boring, I already know I'm going to lose without doing any damage at all.
  10. Oh yeah, just wait.. It's even worse now, enemy can just sail past the battle and spawn infront of you so theirs no getting away now. Now they can put 5 boats behind you, 5 on your sides and 5 infront of you. The zergs are most definitely drooling over the new spawn mechanics. You can't even run anymore! This is what happens when you listen to zergs instead of PvPers. Numbers combat is here to stay, say bye to skilled PvP in Naval Action. Zerg Action Never mind the amazing combat system they worked on for years, lets just throw that all away for brainless zerg PvP. Which is all that will be left on the open world. Forget skilled PvP, that isn't needed here. That takes time to learn how to be a good PvPer, so just lets make the gameplay bigger numbers wins so nobody has to learn. And you can guarantee the zergs a victory with these mechanics so they don't have to worry about losing. And eventually all you will have left is the zergs, and no real PvPers who played the game for the epic combat system. These mechanics are helping the zergs troll anyone who isn't part of a zerg, making the game boring for them. Good way to force those players out the door.
  11. I Agree with that! Ganking is awesome. Ganks give us more epic, challenging battles, and less time running and chasing. Um what? I've done large group PvP and lots of PBs.. If you mean doing large gank squads, not everyone finds seal clubbing entertaining. I know that, this is an open sand box. It cannot have any restrictions and it MUST be exactly like EVE, or the game will die right? We should also have real life sailing time, that fixes the magical teleports after a real time battle instance is started and everyone jumps into the battle after it has started.
  12. Hell yeah! Lets get some big gank squads going to celebrate. Fun for all. No, jk. But however, I personally would much rather see a reputation system. Serious gank offenders should get minus rep and lose access to bigger ships, quality and mods. This would mean you can't just gain access to bigger ships by PVE on a PVP server. You would need a certain amount of rep points with your crew xp level. And if all you do is gank your rep would take a hit meaning you lose access to bigger ships. Promote PVP on PVP servers. Less PVErs who just power level in PVE and only gank, and have not a clue how to PvP. I must say, Ive had some priceless fights with BR system. Those who used to only gank and mouth off who got roped into a 1,5x v 1x BR still outnumbering us but showing how bad they sucked at PvP. No wonder some people didn't like it. Shows what happens when their large group of buddies couldn't magically teleport a fleet into a battle with a time compressed open world.... lol
  13. Let's just put it this way. If you are a PvPer, you don't find ganking, running and chasing worthy of your time on the game. In other words, it's b o r i n g. Better things in life to do than that, thank god devs are working on a solution to eliminate gankers and their squads for us who like fun PvP.
  14. 1) PvPers want, unfair fights not ganks. 2) PvPers want less running and chasing 3) PvPers know and understand how to avoid ganks yes. But unfortunately some of us have lives and don't have all day to spend defensive tagging, running and waiting for a enemy fleet to show up to match our force, which sometimes never happens. We would rather be doing multiple fun battles with BR system than doing lopsided ganks as our everyday PvP. Do people want to logg on for 3 hours and 100% of that time bullshitting with defensive tag, running or being a ganker? No, that's boring and not what PvPers want to do with their time on NA.
  15. This system freaking sucks, less ganks and sealclubbing. Who in the right mind would want that, right? Gameplay has really taken a hit, so much less fun. It's agonizing not being able to gank people 10v1 every battle, or spend hours running and chasing. I'm not sure why people want this BR system, why would you want less running, chasing and ganking? Those are the 3 things that make this game great.
  16. 1.5X BR vs 1X BR is not a fair fight, you can still outnumber enemys. You can still gank, be in the circle. Love unfair fights, ganks are a waste of precious time. Each person has a life and may it be good for one side doing the ganking, but the others want to find a good fight and don't want to spend their time on the game running instead of fighting. To be honest, it's not that big of a deal having been left out of fights and all not being able to get in. The rest of the group moves on and finds another PvP. 2 Fun PvPs over 1 big gank, that is boring for both sides. Not really. Yes it is easy as pie to avoid ganks, but that is wasted time. More running, less fighting. You can spend hours looking for a good fight and not find one. You in the long run, spend more time running and chasing and less time having battles. That is the big issue here, not avoiding ganks but finding fights where one side isn't lopsided. Theirs been a hell of a lot less running with the BR system, players want to fight now and are willing too because they know they can actually do some damage without being stomped in a few minutes. Some times you spend 30 minutes running after defensive tagging, getting hit from 1k miles out by bowchasers. Do that 5 times in a day, that's 2 and a half hours wasted of your life, and you have had no fun and not had one enjoyable second of each battle. People just don't have the time to do that, if some do, then great, a good portion of players don't. I Get the no restrictions thing, but theirs a thing called how much time you can spend on a game. People have better things to do in life than spend it defensive tagging, running or being the ganker and having a boring time on the game. It's not that us players don't like the idea of no restrictions, but we don't have time for it. BR system gives us lots of good fights, which is exactly what we wanted it for.
  17. 1) Avoiding ganks is easy, but without the BR system finding a good fight that isn't a gank is the problem. People have lives, and don't have all day to find a good fight. BR system gives us that. 2) This is a game, not real life. It's played for enjoyment. 3) Yes it does work actually, some fail to understand how it works, or haven't tried it. 4) Some just simply want no restrictions so they can gank away without having to worry about being defeated.
  18. Jee, do you need ganking that bad that it's going to make you quit if you can't do it as much? Do you really need to outnumber your enemy that bad every battle? The people posting because they can't run gank squads quite as effectively as before is quite hilarious.
  19. I have had excellent fights since the patch. Those complaining either have no clue how it works, how to find good fights, how to defensive tag so you don't get ganked or just want to gank. They come up with rediculous scenarios that you can easily avoid or something that would never happen to make an arguement. Yes I love this system. Why? Because it works well not just because I want too. Most of the haters already hated it before it was put in, knowing it was soon to be doomsday for a portion of their ganks. Everyone I have PvPed with, or against have had enjoyable battles with it. Not sure what the problem is. I haven't been ganked yet, only fun PvP. Some losses, some wins. But all entertaining.
  20. So apparently all of us players who like skilled, challenging fights are carebares, right? So if we don't find ganking enemy 13v1 fun or whine because we can't organize to all get in the battle we are carebares? I think it's the other way around. And the irony when people call players who want less ganks and more skill based combat carebares. You are the ones crying you can't gank as much and might get roped into a fight where enemy has a chance at defeating you because you don't have a force that makes it impossible for enemy to win. Nuff said.I think you should read the forum more, I think it's clear they are not trying to be EVE and don't want to be. And either do we.
  21. People need to chill, Naval Action is still in testing. Early access, I don't get it. Theirs still a lot of work that needs to be done, of course people aren't going to want to help test, report and deal with bugs. They are waiting for full release because they don't want to test it, they can't be botherd. And please, stop comparing Naval Action to PotBs and EVE. It's getting old.

  23. The tagging circle is huge, if you failed to stay together and all didn't get in the battle then that's what happens. If you want to gank someone make sure nobody in your group gets ahead of eachother. 1.5X is not a fair fight, you can still outnumber your enemy. And if you want to gank and get everyone in your group into a battle, stay organized. This mechanic is great so far, lots of fun PvP even if one side does outnumber you, it's not always lopsided making the battle pointless and boring.
  24. NPC means non player controlled/bot/AI. Unless that was a typo, it has nothing to do with the BR system, unless it's bugged for AI or actually intended to be that way, but I doubt it. Also if you want to gank a player trader just be sure you are all in the tagging circle.
