  2. I am a sailling fan. As we all know everyone has his/her own hobby. Unfortunately, there are no my favorite ship styles in this game. I think this idea not only for me. Only one type of sailling boats is my best love which is grande carrack. The most famous grande carrack in the history which named Santa Catarina do Monte Sinai. A Portuguese war ship. The detail informations of this carrack as below: Santa Catarina do Monte Sinai was a higher-castled Portuguese carrack with 140 cannons, launched down in 1520 (800t, length 38 m, width 13 m, draft 4-4,5 м). Built in Kochi, India around 1512 it had two square rig masts and is depicted on a painting attributed to Joachim Patinir. It was destoryed in 17th-century. Santa Catarina do Monte Sinai was the last carrack existed in 17th-century. I really want to see this ship appear in this game. She is so wonderful, both high forecastle and poop make it looks very majestic. Huge amounts of cannons make it become a very powerful war ship. and it looks huge as well. I think this is a perfect ship and will be very popular. It looks nice and special. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Catarina_do_Monte_Sinai This is my dream, I really want to see the ship in this game! many many thanks

  4. Hey guys i know that there's already some topics about this ship in the forum but i got a bit more information wich i don't know if it's fully trustworthy related to the plans. https://arquivohistorico.marinha.pt/details?id=6607, that's the site from where i got them it's a single picture and doesn't show much, isn't possible to read what it says and i don't know if it can help in making the ship. (I'm not sure that's the plant of this ship) Got two pictures of the plans (they're the same but one has more zoom than the other one) and two paints of the ship: I'm not sure if this is the plan of the first Nossa Senhora da Conceição or the second one wich is the one that was renamed to Príncipe Real but im almost sure is from the second one. ( Is the ship at the center ) More information: http://3decks.pbworks.com/w/page/915331/HMFMS%20N%20S%20da%20Conceicao%20%281771%29 Crew: 950 1771 - 90 guns = 34 guns of 32 pounders ||34 guns of 24 pounders ||12 guns of 18 pounders ||10 guns of 8 pounders. 1793 - 86 guns = 34 guns of 32 pounders ||34 guns of 24 pounders ||4 guns of 24 pounders ||14 guns of 18 pounders. 1794 - 98 guns = 34 guns of 32 pounders ||34 guns of 24 pounders ||20 guns of 12 pounders ||10 guns of 8 pounders. 1798-1800 - 110 guns= 34 guns of 32 pounders ||34 guns of 24 pounders ||28 guns of 12 pounders ||14 guns of 8 pounders. 1807 - 78 guns= 34 guns of 32 pounders ||34 guns of 24 pounders ||6 guns of 24 pounders ||4 guns of 12 pounders. 5. Ulysses/Urania 44 or 36 (?) gun frigate Portuguese 1792 Need info on her! EDIT: Deleted two photos that actually were from a more modern design. My apologies. But it still doesnt solve the mystery of her modern looks!
  6. Hey, i "got" more portuguese ships, because technically i just got one, let me explain. I have plans of 3 different ships. One of them is from a 3rd rate ship but has no data and name(http://collections.rmg.co.uk/collections/objects/81037.html?_ga=1.70445782.712756216.1451744237) . At royal museum greenwich i searched for the portuguese ship Príncipe Regente and i found this ship (http://prints.rmg.co.uk/art/492661/prince-regent-1814) but with the name Prince Regent with the data 1814. The last ship is a 3rd rate 74 guns, 2 decks called Medusa(just when it was rebuilt(went to 80 instead of 74) in 1793) launched in 24 august 1786 with the name Nossa Senhora do Monte do Carmo. Crew: 500-650 Length: 51,94 m Breadth: 13,65 m 1786 - 74 guns = 28 guns of 32 pounders ||30 guns of 18 pounders ||16 guns of 9 pounders 1793 - 1822 - 80 guns = 30 guns of 32 pounders |34 guns of 18 pounders ||16 guns of 9 pounders Say what you think!

  8. 1st rate Ship of the Line - Príncipe Real A 1st rate ship of the line rated 90. Built and set sail in 1771 and first sea worthy voyage on the 13th July of the same year. This was the Admiral Ship of the Royal Portuguese Navy at that time and throughout the wars until 1815. For the Mediterranean theatre it was outfitted with 110 pieces and served as 2nd division command ship, under Marques de Niza, in the Anglo-Portuguese fleet under John Jervis and Horatio Nelson. Was so extensively outfitted during its time of service that records were kept. I noted the main changes. 1771 - 90 pieces - 34/32pdr - 34/24pdr - 12/18pdr - 10/8pdr 1794 - 98 pieces - 34/32pdr - 34/24pdr - 20/12 pdr - 10/8pdr 1798-1800 - 110 pieces during the Mediterranean campaign 34 of 32pdr 34 of 24pdr 28 of 12pdr 14 of 8pdr It was used as royal transport when the court left the mainland to Brasil following the Napoleonic peninsular wars and as such was downgraded to 74 pieces to accomodate the transport duty. 6th rate Frigate - Princesa da Beira 6th rate ship constructed by the shipwright of the royal portuguese navy in the territory of Brasil, Pará. Featured a total of 28 pieces setup in one deck only. 20 of 12 pounds and 8 of 6 pounds. Was first set on water in 1798. Was used as coastal guard and convoy escort. Lasted in "service" until 1841. If enough interest from the developers is shown to have these or other specific Portuguese ships the "trouble" ( involves unknown costs ) to go through the maritime museum archives for full information will be my pleasure.
  9. Frigate "D. Fernando II e Glória" This ship has an awkward story, it was ordered in 1821 but because of financial reasons it was only built in 1843 in the Royal Portuguese Arsenal in Daman, Portuguese India. Was in service from 1845 until 1940, year that she "half sunk" from an onboard fire. In 1990 was restored from its old wreck and turned into a museum. She didn't saw any battles unfortunatly, most of its orders where to transport troops to the colonies. Armament: Gun deck - 28 guns (18 pounder, long gun) Deck - 20 guns (32 pounder, carronade) Forecastle - 2 guns (12 pounder, bow chasers) Dimensions: Lenght 87 m Beam 13 m Draught 6.4 m Displacement 1849 tons Between 154 to 379 men (270 passengers) Plans: More pics: http://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-s/05/0d/9e/41/fragata-dom-fernando.jpg http://commondatastorage.googleapis.com/static.panoramio.com/photos/original/23991995.jpg http://cdn2.shipspotting.com/photos/middle/7/4/8/154847.jpg http://cdn2.shipspotting.com/photos/middle/8/4/8/154848.jpg https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3070/2408371627_f07e6ffa71.jpg More info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dom_Fernando_II_e_Gl%C3%B3ria
