Summary Improvement Proposals

Recommended Posts

SUMMARY . Improvements:

1. Improve trade, broader ship trader, fewer battles port. More sales and higher tonnage ships.

2. Create trade convoy routes to Europe, that increase likely to buy and sell products.

3. Canoas indigenous in villages or random points along the coast to trade and ship repair outside of ports.

4. Auction House or market for products able to see rise and fall prices and where find  those trade resources.

5. Improved some graphics ships, more crew on deck . (At least captain at the helm)

6. Improving trade with more industries and products, see the growing wealth of the cities.

7. Improvement of missions (1) escort missions, (2) Attack "Spanish Gold Fleet," or (3) Mission search of the "Treasure Island", or (4) "to hunt or kill a pirate "in search and capture".

 8. Graphical improvements in battle; see city buildings and towers in the port attacks.

 9. Incorporation of sea animals, dolphins, whales can capture mission.

10. Improving Respect to the history: certain cities must be imconquerable because they had armies ground forces. (See story Cartagena de Indias 1741)

11. Historical Improvement: is not historical nor good for the game continuously attacking enemy cities, that should significantly reduce (the attack cities). The map should not change every day because it prevents trade and movement of ships.

12. Improving vessels expand to more Spanish ship models and larger cargo ships, including galleons.

13. Create Admiralty panel screen. To see war, officers, crews, promotions, ranks, salaries and types of boats assigned to each sailor.

14. Improved double cannon bullet, keep more destructive power.

15. Improved display impact of grappe ammunition.Do visible.

16. Reduction in the number of bigger ships Rate 1st, 2nd and third class rate. Historically they not sailed so many at once on Caribbean sea.

17. Promote and facilitate sea battles and trader capture.

18. The countries economy will suffer when its trade routes and  trader ships were attacked

20. DIPLOMACY Panel. Place to look declared wars, treaties and relations of friendship, or neutrality countries. Partners, etc.

21. Crafting, shipyard and construction of ships and cannons, graphic design should be improved to make this part become more attractive game.

22. Allow customizing or tuning your ship, changes in flag, a shade, hue and own ship name.

23. Ability to form a convoy as a transport fleet.

24. Some improves to facilitate power of promotion and penalty decisions by the heads of each clan.

25. Limit options of pirate faction, because historically they did not want more power, only wanted stealing money and refuge islands.

26. The game should be more historical and US and Denmark or Sweden can not have so much power. Throught the time of the game's most powerful nations should be historically Spain, UK, France and Holland.( Only this as main countries) But could insert many other like Portugal, Austria or Sweden.

27. The previous point does not prevent an individual player can amass power and ships but can Not conquer territories or cities. Many cities conquests is a mistake from the historical point of view. But should be possible to get rich players, or millonaires pirates.

28. Create spies services, or sabotage.

29. Enter calendar date,  start year to do the narration of the history of the game and able comeback when it´s finished. 1720-1815¿?

30. The battle ships can not turn itself without sails. Damage masts not only in the base. More fire and smoke in battles.

31. All ports must be open for trade, for any country that wants to enter (even the pirate ports).

32. Improve to be able in open world to join the IA fleet of your country, to travel or fight with them.

33. Boarding  extremely broken and inconsistent, should be easier and prefer to see the men on decks.

34.  Gun ports ussually closed, it would be awesome open it at battles.

35. Some Music in punctual action of the game would be great.

Dream...Some of these would be enough.

How on earth does this respect history?

If this was possible in history, no colonial wars would ever have been fought between European powers.

Almost all instances where you call for graphic improvement are either A: Coming as soon as core content is fully developed, or B: may require too much resources and cause the game to run slower.

More ships are also coming, and the forum gets a chance to voice their suggestion every time a new batch of ships is up for implementation.

Now, on to specifics

2. Create trade convoy routes to Europe, that increase likely to buy and sell products.

7. Improvement of missions (1) escort missions, (2) Attack "Spanish Gold Fleet," or (3) Mission search of the "Treasure Island", or (4) "to hunt or kill a pirate "in search and capture".

 9. Incorporation of sea animals, dolphins, whales can capture mission.

18. The countries economy will suffer when its trade routes and  trader ships were attacked

20. DIPLOMACY Panel. Place to look declared wars, treaties and relations of friendship, or neutrality countries. Partners, etc.

23. Ability to form a convoy as a transport fleet.

24. Some improves to facilitate power of promotion and penalty decisions by the heads of each clan.

28. Create spies services, or sabotage.

I like these, however some will add more to game-play while others are simply aesthetic and will not/should not be concerned about until later in development.

14. Improved double cannon bullet, keep more destructive power.

22. Allow customizing or tuning your ship, changes in flag, a shade, hue and own ship name.

29. Enter calendar date,  start year to do the narration of the history of the game and able comeback when it´s finished. 1720-1815¿?

Double shot is currently being tweaked, customizable flags and pennons are coming, and I believe the "rough" year limit for teh game is 1600-1850, whereas the "preferred" dates are somewhere around 1680-1820.

6. Improving trade with more industries and products, see the growing wealth of the cities.

25. Limit options of pirate faction, because historically they did not want more power, only wanted stealing money and refuge islands.

Agreed to an extent, I have personally written topics regarding this:

4. Auction House or market for products able to see rise and fall prices and where find  those trade resources.

Here I must disagree, considering the time period, there is no global stock exchange that can relay market information in the blink of an eye. We should not be able to speculate on markets as they are happening. Market information should travel by word of mouth, so if you want to know the prices of a nearby port, you either visit it yourself, or talk to the market manager in the port you're in and hope he has some information.

13. Create Admiralty panel screen. To see war, officers, crews, promotions, ranks, salaries and types of boats assigned to each sailor.

Again, this just seems like to much information immediately available to the player. A screen that shows the current war events and area of Naval operation and recent contention (recent battles, patrols, etc.) but not giving exact information on other captains rank and numbers.

31. All ports must be open for trade, for any country that wants to enter (even the pirate ports).

I must disagree here as well, do this and you eliminate any ability or possibility of smuggling. Also this would mean that warring nations would be able to trade in each others ports. Also, as a pirate, I don't want some stuffy naval officers trudging around my port!

How on earth does this respect history?

If this was possible in history, no colonial wars would ever have been fought between European powers.

Yes, on heaven and earth, that would respect history.....REMEMBER the ships no move there to conquer lands or cities. Only control seas and ports. In History of the Caribbean Sea Spanish cities and forts always defeat the others ships because Spanish ports were almost unconquerable. Spanish have more land armies. (Review the history of 18 Century for the conquest) This is the big historical mistake in this game, cities shouldn´t be taken so easily. Trade would be the most important for business. War ships must not enter in port. Trader ships always have rights to enter, but no rights to contraband with resources. Please review origin of Jenkin’s ear War. Pensacola 1781,and Cartagena de Indias battle 1741.

There are several things that could be done to improve the economic game. 1) Get rid of deliveries and teleportation (except perhaps to to the capital, with a long cool down, for those who get lost).  2) Use a single price for all resources, commodities, upgrades, etc. established by supply and demand.   3) Introduce some larger trading ships and/or allow players to escort their own merchantmen.  Right now players can hire warships but they cannot hire traders.  4) Make capturing a port more difficult or unable. Switching so many ports back and forth is both unhistorical and bad for business.  5) Restrict or eliminate the purchase of ships above 7th rate, except for player-crafted ships.  This will create demand (and profits) for merchants and crafters.

A lot of attention has been given to PvP players.  However Historical issues are forgotten...There is nothing wrong with that, so long as other play styles are not ignored. That could affect the Naval Action sales. Why ? Because you can not forget or invent the history for Latin-people, these market to sell the game is for example : Mexico 150 million people Brasil  202 million,  Colombia  47  Argentina  41  Perú 30,  Venezuela  30,  Chile 16,  Ecuador  15, Spain and Portugal 60 million people. USA spanish speakers 50 million people.

Please, review the History of Caribbean Sea and 18th Century, and then think about how the game could be "respect the history" improving in a long-term historical quality accurate, that will be much better for your sales.

Individual and faction’s wealth could improve with trading changes. This improvements must be historical view as well. Attacks ports every day must be reduced, this is not historical. The Caribbean was a business for all countries and nobody wanted destroy cities of their neighbor everyday because them needed each other to do business together. Game must be historical accurate as well. City map can not change ten cities owner everyday.(as it´s happened right now).

This is just wrong.

Mercantilism. It's the exact opposite of what you're talking about. American public schools teach kids almost nothing about history, but even they included this little detail.

Every single Spanish ship bringing goods from America had to enter Europe at one particular port, many miles up a river.

I will not debate with you how was the Spanish mercantilism. Anyway I do not agree with you. I'm just talking about trade in this game , and how to improve . Trader ship did small business across all Caribbean ports. Most of then were contraband with resources. The wrong is doing something ridiculous and not historical at all; as exchange 10 cities owner every day without the possibility of trading or making money.

Please follow the link and give your propossals . You should do a best suggestion to help a better game, as well.

Discuss here is not the way.

 I´m not talking about mercantilism.

Thanks.
