Job: Lead Environment Artist

We are looking for a senior/or mid level environment artist to work on re-creating the Mediterranean of the 18th century. Perhaps you have always dreamed about the creation of the of the worlds for the millions of players worldwide. 

Your responsibilities.

  • Work with sky, clouds, sea and land environment
  • Work with 3d modelers and artists and integrate objects and assets created by them
  • Collect references and analyze art and tech of similar games
  • Maintain and improve the selected art style
  • Create 2d or 3d objects
  • Set up of materials and bug fixing 

Requirements

  • Experience with creation of environments, lightning and particles
  • Experience in PBR texturing in Unity
  • Some understanding of shaders and lightning
  • Experience with Unity or Unreal
  • Experience with modern instruments like Substance designer, Painter, Quixel, World Machine
  • Positive attitude and passion for games

Conditions

  • Can be fully remote or can be in the office (Kiev)
  • Net Salary from 3000/4000 US Dollars per month or more depending on competence  + bonuses/royalty
  • Portfolio
  • Test task will be required

  • Work with sea, waves, spray, refractions, surf 
  • Work with nature, birds, shores, grass, trees, forests
  • Work with 3d modelers and artists and integrate objects and assets created by them
  • Collect references and analyze art and tech of similar games
  • Maintenance of the selected art style
  • Creation of 2d or 3d Objects
  • Work with maps
  • Set up of materials and bugfixing 

Requirements

  • Experience in creation of worlds, cities, villages for game or mods.
  • Understanding of shaders, light and PBR
  • Experience with Unity or Unreal
  • Experience with modern instruments like Substance designer, Painter, Quixel
  • Experience with World Machine or similar instruments
  • Positive attitude and passion for games


Extra (not required but a big plus)

  • Ability to pick and execute on the art style or stylistic (from cartoonish villages by Kustodiev to Rembrandt to colorful world of Wes Anderson, to photo realism of Kubrick) or,
  • Classical art education or,
  • Understanding of anatomy or,
  • Or Experience in VFX and Design or,
  • Knowledge in Architecture or,
  • Understanding of Cinematography or Production design

Conditions

I have a very very talented artist friend I text him a screenshot of this post and he is interested. he does not own or play this game or know anything about it but he is a good artist and if it helps he's also Russian LOL. What is contact information for you that I can send to him or does he just need to sign up to game labs?

Greetings!
If you happen to be needing a 3d artist to help crunch out some hulls and other objects, I would love to help.
I have several years of experience as a hobbyist with 3ds max, making mostly sci-fi vehicle assets designed and optimized for older game engines.

I also have a fascination in 20th century naval warfare, I would love to help Dreadnaughts realized to best of it's potential!
