Hello, there was no problem playing the game a few days ago until I upgraded my GPU.

After I upgraded my GPU, every time I tried to start the game from the launcher, my game will crash and so does my PC (it restarts without warning)

The GPU upgrade was GTX960 > RTX 2060 super.

Thank you.

Greetings, could you please clarify if you tried to clean old drivers with a program like display driver uninstaller and install fresh drivers?

I have tried updating the GPU driver.

No luck so far.

Okay, after the update the hard crash went away. I'm not quite sure what the cause was, if it had to do with the driver or some micro patches that was implemented that i didn't noticed etc.

But regardless, its gone. And I can play the game now. Thank you @Ink for the fast response.

On the other note I'm new so I dont know how to close this thread since its resolved?

Okay, after a few minute of constructing a ship the game hard crashes and along with it crashes my PC.

I checked my windows "reliability monitor"

All it was logged was " The previous system shutdown at 9:15:12 PM on ‎3/‎18/‎2020 was unexpected."

Similar statement at event viewer, I cannot identify the problem since it just crashes, not just the game but my entire system just goes down.

What I have done so far, change game settings(lowing and increasing resolution, lowing and increasing graphic quality, switching to window mode), reinstall GPU driver, update GPU driver, roll back OS before it started crashing and some other stupid stuff that doesn't make sense but I tried anyway

My environment are

  Win 10 pro ver 1909 64bit

   i5-7500

  24 GB memory

  RTX 2060 super (driver: 442.59)

  ct1000mx500ssd4 M.2 SSD drive.

Game version is 1.6.38 and im running at 1920x1080, Graphics quality "Good", Full screen(not windowed).

I would like to switch back to my old GPU (See my first post) to see if its the GPU that is causing this or not but unfortunately I do not possess my old GTX960.

Please help, I want to build big ass ships and blow up other big ass ships asap.

Could you please try this workaround:

  • Press Windows+R then type: %HOMEPATH%\AppData\LocalLow\Game Labs\
  • Right click the Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts folder and delete it.

After that please try to launch the game and check if the problem is still there

Unfortunately, even after I deleted the folder the problem persists.

BUT, although it still sometimes crashes, if i put it to window mode and lower the resolution I can play the game.

The timing of the crashes has nothing to do with resources since it crashes randomly. during menu, construction, battle, battle result screen etc.

Regardless I can still play with this method (kind of)

  • 2 weeks later...

Okay, I dont know what to say to be honest.

It was my PSU's fault and nothing to do with the game.

My PSU was dying + the new GPU did not help with the power situation with the PC

After installing a new PSU it stopped hard crashing and also shutting down my PC.

Games working so far (except for the occasional crashes and the "null" error message spam in the console).

Thank you @Ink for the feed back and inputs.
