Warehouses, Houses and Docks

Recommended Posts

Currently:

To limit the ability to teleport all over the map, you can only have a few outposts, at increasing cost per slot.

Suggestion:

The current functionality gets broken into 3 types of structures.

Houses:

You can only have a few of these, at increasing cost per slot. They let you teleport to a port. They do not come with any sort of storage.

Docks:

This lets you store ships. Costs less than houses and you can have more of them but you are still limited. You cannot teleport to a dock.

Warehouses:

This lets you store items as well as conduct buy and sell orders. They are cheap and you can have as many of them as you want (basic warehouse comes with 1 row of storage but can be expanded). You cannot teleport to a warehouse.

My thinking is this gives us a lot more freedom to create temporary bases and resource areas without letting us teleport all over the place. Teleports are still restricted but if all you want is a place to store a ship or mine some iron, it's not a big deal to open up a new port for that.

you already have Outposts that come with the all those options in one

CLEARY you missed the point.  You dont need ship storage, teleport & warehouse ability at every port.  You should be able to spread your resources/infrastructure out if you wish.  NA basically forces you to use Outposts as forward operating bases, when typically you only need 1/3 of the abilities/functions they provide...that gets expensive

It is expensive because this game needs HUGE money sinks:).. even more so with what you can make capturing 1st rate AI:)

So charge a maintenance fee, not a giant upfront sink...spread the cost out over time.  Lower the barrier for newer players
