With the boarding system like it is the boarding mods do need more tuning.

 

And the actions needs to be hidden. so you cant wait for the last second to counter if you don´t see the action from the start it will be harder and more fun.

Switching actions towards the end of the timer costs much more prep. You want to bait such a switch out and then you can dictate the way the boarding goes, as you can make moves your opponent cannot counter (due to lack of prep).

 

If actions are hidden, the whole thing is just random, and random is not fun.

 

At any rate, whole boarding system will be getting overhauled in the future.
