Oh I can well believe they do, and I enjoy seeing the situation to get out of them. I must admit I don't have much knowledge of the book just the era so I'm just going on an episode by episode basis. Still, enjoying it thus far.

Season 2 is pretty enjoyable for all those struggling with the first. Vanes actors voice bothers the hell out of me though, sounds like he needs to cough. Since it's generally accepted Flint ends up in bad positions, I can see the same happening in Charles town/ton.

It's a little dodgy and I really wanted to dislike this show, yet I still somehow watched it to the end of the first season. It's certainly watchable and enjoyable at times, hammy acting notwithstanding. It's worth a look atleast if you like the era and the naval scenes are generally well done.

Usually change it with whatever MMO I decide to play, never stick to one. Wanted to show some appreciation for Edmund Dene Morel, a radical who was the big drive behind bringing awareness about the atrocities in the congo and Leopold II's involvement. Not anything to do with the age of sail (although he did work for a shipping firm) but great men need remembering none the less.

Most recommendations in here I echo, tv series and the movie version of Hornblower are pretty good. One thing I haven't seen mentioned is To The Ends Of The Earth http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0435995/ which I thought was pretty interesting 3 part drama series, no drawn out war scenes but a good example of a life at sea.
