Ports change hands quickly
And this is the problem. It creates this really unhistorical feeling that detracts from the game. It feels more like checkers then...

When I looked in game, how many ports changed hands yesterday. What we and americans lost tonight. Whole napoleonic wars didn't result in such a change in land ownership. For me it really breaks the immersion. This should be the priority before moving elsewhere.
-
Indeed, when it stops feeling like "Hey, a PB is coming, EXICTTTTTE!" and starts feeling like work - something has to change.
Yep.
If the game was called Warhammer then this nonstop perpetual super war, where you wipe 25 ships and just know that tomorrow they are coming again, and day after again would be more fitting.

Once upon a time, one of our old capitaines said:
"Come join us, we are 4 guys, girl and a teamspeak! Except the girl and teamspeak!"
Now only the first part is not true, as we have both teamspeak and a girl.

Attacking dane with brits french and sweden on 7 ports in same time wasn't to much for you, i suppose.
You still manage to cry even in your victory. How do you even do that?
But Kudos guys, good coordination.

Ping is very offtopic.
Also, I disagree with the post. Imaginary national pride does not allow me to concede the France bashing points :-). Also, it doesn't really seem to apply that much for PVP 1 so far...

Hej no, Rusi z nejakého dôvodu hrajú za Dánov.

In the grim darkness of South American shade there is only war.
There is no peace among the palm trees, only the eternity of carnage and laughter of thirsting captains.
Jenever for the Jenever god, coconuts for the coconut throne!

The list will be mostly Pirates, US and GB I think. Maybe some Dane or Spainiard.
Dutch, French don't really run into pirates that much, but seem to be destined to eternally run into each other...

Ako vám to zatiaľ ide?

Eye opening. Especially for me as a French player.

Devs should put advertising in National news part of the forums. Basically a gold mine for them :-D

----POPCORN ALERT----
i'll trade iron/hemp/oak/fir for a new bag.
Its so funny to see ppl get all wound up by a BS thread...
Jeez lads, it is only pixels and the interwebz, calm down.
Trolls gonna troll, troll back or stay away, but never ever take it personal.
Grtzzz Bubbles
Dutchman trading hemp. Very stereotypical.
But you are right. Popcorn would be nice. But in my experience with Dutch cinemas you will also need to open this as soon as the main credits start to roll.

Woah calm down! You are taking this far too serious. Let's continue fighting ingame instead of throwing words like this on the forums.
I agree. The Dutch are fun to fight. The banter in battle is priceless. Lets keep it that way.

Sir I don't want to disapoint you but I think the Dutch won't be added on the list, due to our mentality of fighting our way out instead of complaining.
About the good review, already done.
And for the Donation, sorry I am saving money for a new PC, after I have that one Ill take a look at it.
Where does this leave the French then?

Gentlemen. In all seriousness now. I do not know the history between you guys and honestly it is not any of my business.
If you gentlemen have issues with Nakor as a diplomat for SLMFr, you can contact me directly as a leader of the group.
Nakor still has my confidence and holds the position of the diplomat, however if there is an issue, you feel you need to contact us or to submit to CSNF and for personal reasons do not want to go through nakor you can contact me and I will see to your request at an opportune moment.

We don't have any female members.
It seems to me that this game is somehow super outputting for some reason.

My impressions from diplomacy contacts with British and US can be summarized by these two period cartoons:

But back on topic.
Good job with newspaper. I still envy all you guys your photoshop skills.

It looks really terrible to be compiled in one place, all the while the period accurate swearing si more fun.
Personally I have one favourite unbannable personal insult:
You mangled sheep-biting pignut!

1. Taxes - each national port you own gives every day a certain amount of gold to all players of the nation.
2. Create flags that enable you to set conquest windows for your own national ports, for some money (and you can still be intercepted).
3. National diplomacy, voting and hard coded rules that if you break them make you a pirate.
4. Individual diplomacy, a.k.a. hiring of mercenaries. You can offer a player to join your faction temporarily (week) for a sum of money. If both players agree, the assets in original nation are locked and hidden and a player switches nation with a current ship and the new nation's hard restrictions apply to him. Player's original nation assets are awarded 20% of the agreed sum on the switch. Rest of the sum will be awarded, if player does enough damage in PVP (could be preagreed in the agreement) during the week (we already have algorithm tracking damage over time).
Low populated nations will therefore be receiving more money that they are able to spend on hiring player mercenaries and buying both port defense and port capture flags.
After the wipe, Spain would still be a low pop nation with many ports. They would be filthy rich and able to hire mercenaries from more populous nations quite easily.
In regards to tactical port battles rules, I am for delayed actions, more expensive conquest flags and all that jazz, but before drastic changes I would want to wait to land battles to come. I still have high hopes that 60+ 42 pounder long guns firing hot shot (this time it applies) would be abel to defend pretty well.

Držím vám palce chalani. Československú námornú tradíciu treba udržiavať! :-)

I'm a bit unreliable...that's why I'm not brought to such meetings
But he is very much more fun at parties. We bring him to parties...

Well, good to see that the French realise that their earlier statements were all boasting and now rely on outside help.
Now wait. You are confusing my brien. So the 30 TF and ?(<30) TDA are coming to help us?
Now it all makes sense...
*Did you guys get the brie cheese joke?

Its not about being unfair, but about being bad. Few weeks ago there weren't that many ports changing hands as there were tonight. You guys pushed on us and kudos for that and brits spain an pirates pushed on US and kudos to them for that. But having whole page of port captures is just too much, it feels too gamey. Or do you disagree?
