  1. It's certainly not nothing, since the ban system is not an automated system. All reports are checked by the devs, so if you got a chat ban (and you should have gotten a pop up message in game informing you about it), you can be sure that devs looked over what exactly you said and decided that it's worthy of a ban.

  2. Just don't use Clan tags like SS or KKK, will ya? Is it really so hard to just avoid the trouble and discomfort this is stirring up? So yes, even if there would be evidence that they are not at all connected to Nazis or their ideology, I still think that clan tags like this should be banned. For the sole reason of having peace in the game.

  3. I don't get why there are so many pirates who don't want a change. You want to play like a nation? Well, there are plenty of nations to choose from. Let us have pirates that actually act like pirates, and let the RvR be done by nations.

Pirates were always supposed to be a hardcore nation. Atm they are not. In fact they are probably the easiest nation around.

  4. Lower the armor to grape the crew...?

You have to lower the armor significantly. So significantly that the trader can get leaks from it, which he can simply use to sink by not going to survival. On top of that you have a chance to set him on fire, which you don't want.

So the sensible approach is to cripple his sails, then destroy the stern armor with a few well placed ball shots and rake the crew with grape from behind. Even though a trader snow really doesn't have enough Crew against a Snow to make this approach necessary when there are no other opponents in the instance.

  5. I seriously don't understand this... "rebellion".

They say that Sweden lost their face, that we should be ashamed, crawling to the winner and begging for our ports...
Now, I don't know who started the talks, but I am pretty damn sure that this is the same procedure as it was done in any of the recent wars in real life. Did Germany lose its face when the allied states ended the occupation? Does noone in the world respect Germany anymore, just because they didn't cease to exist after a lost war? Same with Iraq, Serbia, Afghanistan, Italy, Austria (yes, austria was also divided in 4 parts after WWII... but only shortly), Japan... Under slightly different circumstances, but same argumentation you could also include France, China, Poland, actually all of the eastern european countries, most of the northern african countries...

PS: Meraun, you might want to read the forum regulations. I think your banner is too big.

  6. I've made similar comments about ways to stem over-expansion, mostly relating the cost of flags to the distance between their point of purchase and the nation's capital rather than purely on numbers owned.

This would give a huge disadvantage to Spain... Which is atm a nation with a small number of ports, but widely spread over the whole map.

(at least on PVP1. Don't know how it looks like on the other servers)

  7. It's an interesting idea. Additionally I would like to suggest to make the cost for the flag dependend on how many ports a nation owns. If it owns a lot of ports the flag should be more expensive, if it owns less ports the flag should be less expensive. This would prevent, to some degree, strong nations getting too strong and even wiping other nations off the map without any chance for them to recover.

  8. You sail the small ships to learn how to sail. You sail small ships, because everyone makes mistakes... better to make them in a small ship than in a big ship. You might even appreciate the strengths of the frigate class ships... The speed of the Renommee, the close hauled and beam reach speed of the Surprise, the ability to hunt ships in the Trincomalee, the surprising toughness of a Constitution. Even the Lynx can be appreciated... it is awesome for hunting small traders, and noone will ever catch a Lynx that doesn't want to be caught.

Don't see it as a grind. See it as an opportunity to learn about the game, to learn sailing, to learn about the battle tactics and to learn about your ships.

  9. Exactly my point. You need to focus on a specific part of the map. Meaning, if you want a valid RvR going, you have to focus players from all nations to a certain area.

And if people come here for naval action, how long do you figure they'll stay if they're confined to a certain area?

Why all nations? There are many war zones on the map... Ever nation has its own war zone. And these war zones are spread over the whole map. And... if you call the pvp between Denmark and Sweden "not valid" (the only war zone I am interested in atm), then I have no idea what else you want.

Edit: And these war zones are even shifting, like for example the French-Dutch war. France pushes deeper and deeper into Dutch territory, which changes the face of the frontline constantly.

  10. The problem is players, and that there's not enough of us to fill the map, and won't be for ages. So it's either mainly sailing, or there's mainly PvP. Arcady or not.

That depends on where on the map you are. If you want PVP... Sail to the frontlines. If you want constant PVP without long ways... Join Sverige.

Focus your energy on one part of the map. You don't need to be everywhere at any time.
