  1. I crushed 68,238 Union soldiers in my last campaign(a week ago) while only losing around 10,000(sorry can't remember this one) and I remember thinking wow that's like 3/4 of the union army Note: this was on the easiest difficulty, and I practically wiped out entire units with ease. If you are newer it may be hard to do, but the old timers should be able to do it no problem, the only trade off is it isn't very interesting, it's just bland and time-consuming...basically no challenge, but you get high numbers
  2. While I'm aware you are working on the battle of Antietam, which will be magnanimous, other great suggestions for games would be the battle of Chancellorsville, the Shenandoah campaign(it's more a long-term one, possibly a great start if you ever do campaign), lastly, a good battle was Shiloh. Although I'm am already excited for Ultimate General: Antietam p.s. I believe there is a thread where it has a poll asking what people would like, and actually, some of those are quite nice, if you haven't looked at it, you may be able to see what improvements could be made to take the game to the next level, but as always I trust your judgement
  3. it's very important, especially late in the game, as you will want to defend.
  4. as the confederates, what you should try to do on day one, is take mcphersons woods, with archer, and have davis for on the ridge. Pettigrew and brokenbrough can be positioned anywhere( i suggest your center), then hold and wait for penders brigades, experience may change as a lot of men die, but eventually the union will attack with the iron brigade and cutler, and your troops will screw them over. Now when penders brigades show up send two around to the cemetery hill, and one to the center or right flank. attack from the hill and with davis. use the rest of your forces to push any brigades from down south away from the fight in the north. after this you should have a strong flank. Day 1, part 2. hold and take some shots the union, wait for the 3 advanced brigades(Iverson, Doles, and whats his name). use them in gettysburg to kill any arty they have attacking on the left side of the map. when daniel and ramseur show up use them to break the stalemate. and prepare to assault the union center. now when the rest of ewells corp shows up, use all four brigades( louisana tigers, smith, avery, and gordon) to take culps hill. you should be in a good position from here on out. P.S. take the union center if you'd like. but in the day 2 when they counterattack you'll get more kills holding at culps hill
  5. Wonderin if Darth will give me some insight on the Next Ultimate General game

  6. finally got there myself, it was just an unlucky streak i had going on
  7. It was single player, but i found a way to hold them, turns out i was just unlucky and the confederates would only charge. but i finally found a solution to stop that... P.S. it's artillery and lots of firepower from brigades
  8. i would start a poll, but i'm afraid i'll need to start a new thread. if you can tell me a way to implement one on this thread i'll do it no problem. i'll look through all the post, and see which 10 scenarios are most wanted
  9. i've played through the Campaigns of both factions, on the hardest difficulty(determined i think), with boost ai turned on. i've kicked ass as both sides. as the confederates, just position your troops to where the union general needs to send more men to a certain area, then when the area is cleared of most brigades, assault it. Warning do not assault cannon batteries with one brigade, will almost always result in mass casualties for you, and having that brigade trying to recuperate afterwards for most of the battle. if you want more advice contact me on steam, Michaelsmithern is my username
  10. are you talking about my thread perhaps, it would make me so happy if you were
  11. Well it's happened, a thread i started has become hot on the Ultimate General Gettysburg Forums, and personally only 85(or less if you've replied more than once) have put in suggestions, but over 9000 views, which means it is an interesting topic, i'd like to thank you guys as this is my first thread that has become really popular, and now that i've play more than a hundred hours of ultimate general, i've got one big complaint, and there is probably a thread for this, but the UNION MORALE IS SO SHITTY I CAN'T HOLD THE FUCKING POINTS on the first battle of day one, ah but i hope this will be solved, or at least make the union a little bit more powerful, anyways back to the thread. I wish more of you 9000 viewers would reply as darth probably does look at this, and it may help him out with your suggestions, and if you see something already posted that you were going to post, post your whatever anyways, as it shows that the community would like the next game to be during this battle or era or whatever. thanks and i'll reply whenever i get on... probably after fallout 4
  12. another great thing that good be added to the game are sieges, but then again sieges could last a lot longer than most people would want
  13. wow two pages, to be completely honest with you guys i never thought i would get done with the first page, but i guess it's a good topic. also i'm glad to know people do look at these things
  14. Well, I've played through countless hours ( about 10 or so) of Ultimate General: Gettysburg, this is also by far my favorite battle during the civil war, considering all the things that could have happened, and this game did an awesome job of showing what would or could of happened, but now that we have beaten it, and have got all the battles for each day, and are so good we can win on the first day as both union and confederates, that has us wondering, what is the next game or battle going to be. feel free to post your opinions below and hopefully Darth will take a look at them, but that also has me wondering, what about an Ultimate General where you don't play a specific battle but you go through a campaign making decisions and the AI tries to complete a map goal, like take over Richmond, and when the two army's collide the closest battlefield, whether it being Fredericksburg, or Shiloh, Antietam, etc. you fight there, and then you'll have more maneuverability when it comes to choosing your fights, but that would also require a system of getting more troops, so then maybe you ask for some recruitment, it doesn't tell you how many men you'll get but at certain dates it will recruit certain units, like the 20th Maine, or the Irish Brigade, and so on and so forth, but honestly i would be fine with just another battlefield type game, so like it's been said Second verse as same as the First.
