Side missions (POI) and the timing thereof

I really dont understand the side missions. I just started 2 sidemissions with a duration of 1, then did one main missions. After the main missions only 1 of the side missions was completed. This ain't so hard now is it? Why is the duration of 1 not 1 turn? Or why is there not an end date?

Yeah this mission is an absolute joke. I suspect it is bugged. This is no longer the case, probably bugged. I got flanked by some 1000 units from the seawards direction. 700 of them are from the merchant ships.

Campaign "Snatch" Mission = Suicide

Just watched some youtube video's about this mission and to my surprise there is only one "merchant" ship where I have to deal with 2. They can barely be destroyed and cannot be boarded because of the 700 man crew! Also you cannot fight the land missions since the enemy will swarm you. This missions seems totally ridiculous. Second run and again the 700 crew from the sinking ships appear and hello kitty me over. Not liking this mission at all. Captured all the ships, lose every single unit on land
