  1. That isn't the only and main reason don't get me wrong i don't blame theme for not doing it from my experience even when a company does have that all the players do it complain WoW as an example no matter what Blizzard does to make game better it always always turns into a shit storm. So I don't really blame companies for not doing why bother when all the community will is sling it each each other us the brand and anywhere else they put it. So I don't blame theme for not having open communication when the community as a large not just this one but all of theme stop that then companies and people that work for theme will be more likely to be open. As for me i am looking forward to these changes especially the hulls and guns and such the changes to the AI will increase the difficulty don't get me wrong but can be overcome with a captain that pay attention to what he is doing and the enemy is doing and thinks ahead. SO bring it on let me test it and see what i find and report.
  2. i Have been waiting to see what they will do with the German guns very nice and the new hulls too various fixes seemed minor to me yeah may make the AI more aggressive but then again can be easily countered also with a half smart captain.
  3. I have an odd bug don't know if it is due to the update but when i try and sign in it says couldnt not get your game access details. Please try again after 4 tries.
  4. Here is a video by the user mentioned earlier that has the range finding done in a manner that can be explained better than I can with out losing people in math terms and over whelming facts.
  5. You do have a point on the WOWS and WT community generally saying bad about what they don't know as in those communities the ones that did where either bullied by mods and the community to the point they walk awayed or where banned by mods for making the game look bad going against what the company wanted you to believe instead of IRL numbrs. WOWS was really known for this as all you have to is look as Russian Cruisers and compare to IRL ones and see the issue there or US British German French and Italian ships to see it also. Generally the Soviet/Russian ships where stat padded to such a point they where always OPed and anything outside Russia was never truly represented properly as it was better than what the Russian/soviets had at times. WT was just as bad on it except on tanks and planes generally again is a Russian based game so stat padding was present less so on than WOWS but still there there big issues was mod favoritism, if you weren't buddy buddy with theme and defended the game at all costs you where punished for whatever they wanted to with no oversight. If you found proof they where wrong on something you ha to submit 3 different forms from 3 different locations and books and the 4th had to be a Russian source they approved of. So changing anything past what they wanted it to be was impossible and changes generally come against anything outside Russia even though that source is usually wrong. Os ic an see there affect happening but best I can say is prove it if not shut it and let those that know speak be amazed how it will turn out if you let those who know speak instead of you thinking you know. Take current gun accuracy as a point and armor weight was affected by those communities a lot.
  6. Yes but a Gunners mate in the US Navy when I was in the US Navy I agree the game is way of charts and what was actual in IRL. The video your talking is the best way to explain how it all works without losing many people in the match alone. But the game is not accurate at all to any fire charts I still have from when I was in the Navy from A School on those guns yes the US Navy still taught the old WW2 guns like the 8:/55 Mk 12 threw 16 guns the 6"/47Mk 16 guns 16DP guns along with the two 5"51 Mks 7 threw 15 and the 5'38 Mk12 and the 5"54 Mk16 guns. They are US guns but in game they are way more inaccurate than IRL and the way the gun sights are wrong also one wasn't for close and the other farther away. Both where used for the same role just did it differently and one was more accurate at range then the other. Generally if you send out 4 shells your as accurate as you can be the 4 shells for ranging and effect. The biggest impact to Gun accuracy was radar as it gave live feed on range speed and direction of the ship. This was done by time in and out and the signal between the two to define direction, simply put if send a signal and it x amount of time less to get the range you have time and the range decreased by y amount you distance covered simple math to find speed which is distance vs time. You only cover so much per distance per knot of speed. Range is measured by signal covered if it takes 6 seconds to send and receive the signal then 3 seconds is the number you need the total , divided by two gives you distance one way, the radar signal goes threw a set atmosphere so fast only so range is time compared to known range as the signal only covers so much terrain per second. Speed is done by time to a certain point again so much speed per knot can be covered and if the ships travels a certain distance for a given time then speed is can be determined. Atmosphere as in heat and temperature can only be done at your ship as you cant tell to the ship but is usually the same due to area of atmosphere unless a storm is near by. Generally atmosphere is only done as Pressure and temp at your ship wind direction can be determined at your ship and enemy ship by looking for flags and such that can tell you. Yo plug all tat info in your Range finding computer, they called is different name then, and it gives where the shells will hit and where the guns aim spot and elevation is to get maximum hit chance. By US Navy standards a 9 gun equipped ship needed to have a 60 percent hit ratio to be considered a passing grade during testing and training that is about 3 shells on average hitting a ship of equal size and role. Your lucky in game if 1 or 2 shells for every 6 vollys, which wouldn't even pass any navies grade to be used crew wise.
  7. The Diesel Engines on the Deutschland class did give better range for weight and efficiency of use HP per use of fuel. The weight savings came in the fact you didn't need heavier boilers and turbines on the ship that weight could be used in other areas like armor guns and to carry more fuel. HP measured amount of fuel came in the fact compared to boilers which required x amount of coal and or oil to heat y amount of water to c amount of tempter to boil properly for use on the ship to move z amount of speed. When you look at that the diesels they where better especially for range and weight savings, as far as reliability, the Diesel where less reliable on warships than boilers, for two main reasons, 1 the amount of moving parts on a Diesel engine requires more parts to be repaired if damaged, reason why U boots and submarines where so hard to maintain to peek performance as the war went on the parts needed became less and less reliable and harder to get especially ball bearings. 2 The fact the Diesel Engines needed water to keep theme now yes the ocean is full of water but it needed clean water with no dirt and material in it as that can plug up the water jackets inside the engine. That was one of the reasons way the Deutschland ported where it did was for the better water to keep the Engines cool properly and do less internal damage to the engines themselves. This makes Diesel Engines limited on where they can go to operate safely and efficiently I don't care what government is in power, repairs and spent money defines all things that are built. Especially on warships that can cost millions of collars per ship. Boilers of some kind where used clear up till modern ships like the Ticos and Burks and so forth which use Jet Engines for there power source as they are also light and reliable engine wise on warships.
  8. Some had more than that the Fargo's after CL-109 New haven to CL-118 Chattanooga where to have 6 inches of belt and turret face armor. Some the design plans that would come later in some nations but never built also came that way even some early Light Cruisers had 6 inches. Although 3 inches was the more common practice for nations due to cost and weight savings and ranges. Before anyone brings up the Fargos where advanced Clevelands only the first 3 where built on Cleveland Class hulls due to avalbility at the time after that the order was given for the Fargo hulls to built. Shortly after the class was cancelled due to the War ending and so no need for theme and all money was given back for other projects in the government at the time. Some of the More heavily armored Cruisers like Mogami's by US standards where Light Heavy Cruisers CL/CA's much like was done to the North Hampton Class all the way up to the Portland, After that CL/CA's died as a ship role with the New Orleans Class in the US Navy. Much the same with Large Cruisers in the US Navy they where Large Cruisers in name only but firmly fitted into Battle Cruisers hence why they had CB lettering in some other lettering. In the US Navy they called Large Cruisers for political reasons nothing to do with the Role of the ships itself.
  9. There are a few things I would like to bring up mainly with design of a ship Light Cruisers main belt armor should be increased from 5 inches to around 6.2 inches as a main reason for this change is simple weight. Most light Cruisers being built after 1930 was above 6 inch limit. This would give a slightly better lay out armor from Modern Light Cruiser in game from the preceding older designs. Build I made using the Italian Navy there is about 500 unused weight I can use for armor as the weapon sweet is good on that design when I push speed to 32 knots I can still use 290 tones. I'm not saying nerf Modern Light cruisers to carry less those numbers are fin and good for me, just let us carry more armor at around 6.2 as a max size armor to add a bit more from for designs and allow some give or take want 6.2 inches of armor give something else up else weight wise. US Light Cruiser, Heavy Cruiser, and Large Cruiser all used the 5 inch gun as the secondary gun not the 4 inch gun, in fact the US Navy never used the 4 inch gun during that time period, before during the First World War and earlier on Destroyers and yes up until 1390 when the Somers and Porter Class was built as Large Destroyers for there time used the 5 inch 51 guns these two classes later replaced by the Gearing Class originally designed to carry 8 5 inch gun later changed to 6 like the Sumner Class Gearing longer and the lack of a another twin 5 inch gun gave room to expand aft bridge and fuel tanks for longer cruising distance.
  10. There is a few inaccuracies I need point out of the game dealing with actual ships design first the London treaties so as to have a base to explain it all. London Naval treaties came in two agreements before the out break of the second world war, there was talks of a third agreement but the war broke out so discussion of it was never completed explain later. This will be summarized as it is very lengthy and long and dry so I shortened it too be quick and easy. Destroyer 1,850 tons and guns not exceeding 5.1 in (130 mm) exceptions where made in the second part for destroyers for Destroyer Escorts DE and Large Destroyers DL ( Destroyer Leaders) in weight they could weigh up too 2500 tones and no more but the gun size limit was still imposed. Light Cruiser guns no greater than 6.1 in (155 mm) ("light cruisers" in unofficial parlance) Special agreement was made for Soviet Union to have 7 inch guns due to the fact there ships where built and laid down before the agreement later on in the second part those ships where deemed Heavy Cruisers. Weight limit was set to be no more than 10 000 tones in total later changed to exclude fuel water and any other material used in support of the crew living conditions and lubricants for the ships mission other than built on the ship. This agreement was also done for Heavy Cruisers. Heavy Cruiser guns up to 8 in (203 mm) ("heavy cruisers") Weight limit was set to be no more than 10 000 tones in total later changed to exclude fuel water and any other material used in support of the crew living conditions and lubricants for the ships mission other than built on the ship. This agreement was also done for Heavy Cruisers. Battlecruisers and Battleships, as the treaty was concerned both where to be treated as capital ships were restricted to a 35,000 long tons (35,562 t) standard displacement and 14-inch (356 mm) guns. However, a so-called "escalator clause" was included at the urging of American negotiators in case any of the countries that had signed the Washington Naval Treaty refused to adhere to this new limit. This provision allowed the signatory countries of the Second London Treaty—France, the United Kingdom and the United States—to raise the limit from 14-inch guns to 16-inch if Japan Italy refused to sign the agreement. Part 3 which was never due to the war made changes to Heavy Cruisers and Battlecruisers and battleships Heavy Cruiser weight changed to allow 20 000 tone max Battlecruisers and Large Cruisers weight was the old battleship no more than 35000 ton weight and could carry guns no larger than 12 inches and no smaller than 9 or 10 inches. Battle ships weight increase to something 60000 in total and could carry guns no larger than 16 and no smaller than 13 inches. Now on to issues and bugs I have found. The Italian 6 inch gun is not showing properly for the later years 1934 and later past 1940, in game the 7 inch gun is right look wise but the Italian 6 inch gun looks the same as the 7 inch gun. Image provided http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNIT_6-55_m1936.php The US 8 inch gun is also inaccurate for anything past 1930 the US 8 Inch/mm Mark 12 and 16 guns looked like the 9 inch and 6 Inch guns in game and not like the Italian 8 inch gun design. Image provided of St Paul. http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNUS_8-55_mk12-15.php German Light Cruiser forward bridge and aft bridge are incorrect German light Cruisers that where to be built had bridge shape much to the Admiral Hipper class ship for forward bridge and aft bridge just smaller in size to fit the new ships, many where based on the Admiral hipper class as the class was originally a light Cruiser to carry 12 6 inch guns, later changed while in design to carry 8 inch guns. Secondary guns when rotated to face rear show as bad gun angles when none exist, some guns no matter what you do show that and none exist also. Error codes present when entering a custom match for German, Austrian and US ships on various areas including bridges guns and general layout and sound issues. That si all for now working on a second part with more errors and issues I find when I get see theme and compiling the list.
