I've tried to find the answer to this mystery, but so far I have failed to find it
but sometimes they give you a reason to burst a nice little laugh when they say that you are lo/wo (most probably they can't angle the ship if that's the case) or some other bullshit -
on the other hand it's just a fundamental aspect of the game - the stronger ones survive, and the weaker, dumber ones die (there is some amount of exceptions, but that's how it works in general)
but yeah I cannot disagree with the fact that port bonus is bullshit - why? - because it's unnecessary bullshit which you have to haul trash for (all day and all night) - of course I received it for free

it is really hard to get motivated to update things when the serious issues of the game are ignored, and that's why you can expect most of the things to be outdated

currently the only significant use and purpose of salt is annoying people and messing up their inventory when they are trying to fish sealed bottles, therefore there is no reason not to delete it

Costs you nothing if you lose and you have fun. Sink or capture a port bonus ship with all the bling in your trash ship and you get that rush. i do this every day in the 1v1 zone, it is great fun. Just need more people to stop being so precious with their little pixel boats.
this is a perfect example of a player! too bad most of the people in this game are carebears these days!

people are too afraid of playing the game so when they get an opportunity to fight with you they are going to run away because they are afraid of playing the game and want to stop playing as soon as possible. I'd also like to point out that rattvisan and hercules are very valuable ships that require a lot of effort to be made, so they are clearly the ships that you shouldn't just throw away during a random opportunity

I can only say that I remember a situation when I attacked a russian guy and made one neat shot on his hull, then a HAN player joined the battle, I lost connection, but after I reconnected I decided to go for the HAN guy because he was closer to me - and then he asked me something like "is this how you hunt?" because the russian guy decided to disengage, then he just kept fighting and typing chinese characters thinking I'm going to guess what he meant
I guess that the "is this how you hunt?" question might indicate something...
