Don’t worry the PvP players don’t come to the peace server.  But lot of the casuals will for sure,  if concensual PvP can be implemented.

I am a hard core PVPer… I go to the Peace server because I have buddies that went their... also I can try to encourage them to join me on the War server... :)

no, im propose go play something easier. If u dont wont brain ON

Well, it seems to me that you are implying that playing on PVE server is not having the brain ON. This smells a deliberate try to flame or troll to derail the thread, but I'm not a moderator so my opinion is not relevant.

I think he is just a PVE hater... many of them on PVP server... :)

If not... he is probably just tired of hearing complaining continually from a crowd of players that have received so much content added since day 0 of game development...

    Anyway... just something to consider.

  3. also... some Peace server players would like to PVP once in a while... a simple attack function where the attacked player has to consent by choosing to engage would work well... many of the peace server players would like to PVP... they just don't want to get ganked is all. So a less libral approach to PVP on the PVE server... when someone gets attacked... the attacked player then could choose... ENGAGE or... EVADE applications... if the player is running goods... he/she will likely EVADE... if in a warship the player may... ENGAGE... if the player doesn't want PVP on the peace server... there are plenty of NPCs available to kill also... Just a thought.

Three cheers to the frigates and their gallant Captains.

The PvE server could in the end become what will make this game famous, dispite the devs efforts to make the PvP part as hardcore as possible. I see 170+- player ons PvE, this was never more than 50 before. Don't know how many ppl are on PvP atm.

over 300 players get on during the weekend... sometimes over 400. Some days less some days more... it just depends on when players feel like getting on and hunting.

Some players on the PVE server are newer and may migrate to the PVP server after they have learned a bit more about mechanics... either way... newer players should be advised to do the tutorials and complete the Final Exam. They will be in more ship shape then for a hostile PVP environment. I know these newer players are really itching for combat.

Screw that, turn it on it's head. Le Rektshit should be nerfed and only allowed in shallow waters. It's such a dinkly little boat it really has no business in deep water battles. Damn mosquito of a ship, so glad the new damage model knocked it down to size and showed it for being one of the least combat worthy vessels in the game.

The Le Requin is a pirating ship... its all its good for and I like it that way... :)

Remember … the Xebec is best at picking on foes much smaller than herself.

To make things interesting in the solo pvp zone since team battle is obviously out the window and 1vs1 fights are only in this zone, could we possibly get the ability to fight your own nation in this zone? It is called "solo" and i think your nations flag shouldnt matter in this zone at this point. Lets hear everyones thoughts on the idea. Thanks ahead of time

Yes, yes , yes…  we need something like this. We had this when we had the Combat Arena a long time ago...I like the idea of having this as a place available in the open world. Perhaps players that join offer an amount of dabloons or reals and the other player has to match... winner takes all. Would be good fun and the fighting arena would be high stakes, and high competition.

  7. I just hope more paints come available for the other ship designs soon... and what is it that some of the 9 pound frigates require permits to build?

As far as votes, the only way to get alts from making small clans and causing problems with the votes is that each clan gets a number of votes based on the number of ports they own. While this may exclude small honest clans, it will prevent abuse of the system by alt clans created by other nations.

Now this seems logical to me... If we were to get the game to be clan driven rather than just nationally driven, and have political decision making at clan level between clans, this would be a must have in game.

I believe that the Nations as they are can remain... however to have clan wars would be really neat, this could possibly even open up an opportunity for civil war within the nations... the strongest clans could run the empire and control trade, the upstart clans could challenge power and we could always have scuffles for power, even within the in game national complex.

This would complicate things in game for the better... there would be like a super corporate war going on all the time... sounds like a lot of fun and frustration to me... I would love it. :)

Good idea... wish I thought of it myself.

This however will not be implemented this way if the developers want any form of historical national line. Not sure if they want historical boundaries or not... never know anymore, you know? I think they take great pleasure in surprising us players... maybe this is their form of gag content... you know... lets see what they do when we... or... lets implement this and they will... anyway... getting way off the page now.

If implemented I would really like to see a diverse and creative diplomatic system worked into the game... I really liked the alliances system when it was in place... one week or month you were at peace and enjoyed peaceful trade with a nation that was not your own... the next, you were at war with them.

NA players often rage, whine and complain loudly;  this feature would likely be a new source of grief for the Devs because when some players lose their ships and cargo they may relentlessly lobby for compensation.

I could see this I guess, so if you want real security... hire players to do the escorting?

I kind of want to set up my crafting base again, grind some reals, and pump out ships for more pew pew - but knowing it will be re wiped in a month or two I dont really feel like putting in the time twice. So I'm stuck with my leftover ships I guess.

Its ok mate... players like me will rebuild infrastructure and create things to buy for you... will take some time , but hey, the development is my favorite part, I didn't reach maximum rank until relatively recently... I don't grind, no need for it. I just play to my capacity and that's it. That is it took me around 1000 hours to get to full rank. Not because I am an idiot mind you, I just don't care about ranks.

Also think of it this way, if the person sending the cargo actually sees the ship leave port he could in fact escort the ship and engage any raider that approaches. This would be a good thing for the trader as he could ensure that even if he loses the battle, his cargo will be about 30 min sail time away from the raider and thus is safe. It reduces his risk to a minimal level and the trade only loses a low price ship in the process. Either way, the trader wins. This is about the only scenario where I could be both sides winning with this option.

I like this, this would encourage people to combat in the open world to protect their cargos by allowing a type of multi battle group in the open world, a cool idea. I will try to find a counter to this... how to capture the cargo when escorted sounds like a lot of fun to me. Would encourage team hunting too.

Three cheers for the frigates and their gallant Captains.

I cant really accept that a hard core pvp player would be ok with this as it would deny you the entire reason why you play, player vs player and thus would remove a large number of possible combat marks.

The hard core PVPers don't really care about combat marks... they live for the hunt, just in case you didn't realise this. We are like prowling wolves... looking for prey that can be easily taken, maybe this makes me a villain... I don't know, but I sure enjoy this part of the game... and I would sink shipping for a war effort if it means destroying someone else' stuff. I suppose the game can be what players want it to be aye? :)

I love PVP and support the idea of having transported cargo in the open world via NPC 100%. So that I can sink another players things.

Fact of the matter is... many hard core PVP players hate transporting goods... they just want to combat all the time. This is why I am also in favor of bringing back the arena so we can sharpen our skills against each other without losing absolutely everything.

P.S. I am sorry if I come across a little combative but, I play this game for the combat after all... just saying.

  13. Ahhhhh, the old seal clubbing topic. The seal clubbed and the seal clubbers. If a new player joins a PVP based combat game and thinks he will always get a fair game he is not remembering one small point... that all these other players have been playing for years now and have big ships, or at least know what they are doing, part of learning in games like this is being forced to learn how to survive, when to run, when to fight, even repair timing comes with time and experience. It is easier to unravel an NPC engine than the super computer that exists in our own heads. PVP exercises the creative juices of our minds, we try to undo each other, countering always and trying to gain an advantage in combat.

If a player comes to a combat game, and thinks all will be peace, and even fights he is wrong... this is war and the imbalance of it.

  14. I would like to see gun ports working... as in... the gun ports are closed in open world, but in instance the ports roll open... from stem to stern or vice versa.

Also would like rougher seas... at least once in a while. I would also like to see wind speed changes in instance... and the possibility of becoming becalmed at sea.

Also provision consumption while at sea... this will create a new consumable in game... if you run out, your crew starves to death slowly, just make the consumption realistic to in game speeds... how many meals a day could be adjusted... the crews moral could be affected by going hungry, or will to fight could be impacted. Also makes a better use in game for Provisions. Besides... if you were to sail for several in game days, you would need provisions for each day sailing in the open world. Provision consumption could stop while in instance.

Iam sure iam not the first one with this idea.

Woudnt it be great to send Ships with Cargo between Outposts? I dont mean teleport, i mean AI sailed an capturable ships. You cant use them for Trade, just to move stuff between your Outpost.

I think this is a good idea. Pirates would probably like this a lot. How ever, I have to argue only one point... this would make your cargo more vulnerable to PVE attack... this would be fun... but the risk should be calculated.

Perhaps also consider being able to send the ships with an escort also for a fee? The higher tha rank of the escort the higher the price?

    1 hour ago, Raekur said:

The hard core pvp players wont let it happen as it could be used by traders to move cargo over great distances. This would deny them easy pray for their combat marks.

I am a hard core PVP player... I think his idea is legitimate. In the end though... the developers can do as they please. I like to think that if the backbone and majority of the community is in favor of something they would respond positively to ideas that will build up the game play and make their game more interesting.
