French, Spain, GB, US, DUTCH/DANE/SWEDE(combine these) would give you 5 nations.  Than make Pirates a Privateer faction where if they have a LoM they can work for a nation, if they don't they are pirate/outlaws.  Only work out of free ports/pirate havens and no conquest.

To Hodo: here is what Sir Texas Sir said that I liked

So the more I think about this, the less I like it.

The overall idea is just poorly thought out and appears to be a half baked and a troll post of an idea.  Something like throwing a treat out there to the players to distract them from the actual problems in game instead of actually fixing the problems in game.

Ultimately this is the issue with the proposed idea.

Why be in any nation other than pirate?  If I am in a nation I cannot attack fellow nationals even if in another clan.  BUT if I am pirate I can attack other pirate clans and enforce my will on them.

So why be anything other than pirate?  With the use of alts to get things from the admiralty store you really dont need to be a national in the proposed system.

Then you run into the slow death of new players.   New players will be cut off from any attachment to the nation.  They will be left to hopefully be picked up by a clan.  But again with the rampant use of alts, most noobs will be overlooked as possible spies.

In closing the new system is more trash than good.

Devs, the only thing that needs change is Pirate Mechanics. Please see what Sir Texas Sir said.

I tip my hat to you Sir. Devs do what you suggest and nothing else is needed.

"European and North American (current nations or further Nations) powers will agree to not give away ports to other nations.

Nations will close eyes on the privateering activities in the Caribbean region allowing free combat in the region.

Nations will start taxing all activities in the caribbean (stamp tax) on all purchases, mining or forestry and player to player trade

Nations will grant charters (allow to create) for new type of chartered companies: war corporations or clans that will be allowed to establish control over regions in the Caribbean.

current guilds and clans will remain the same

new chartered war company will be able to be created by players for the purpose of region control and taxation."

If I understood correctly, since you only mentioned European and North American (...Nations), Pirates are not included in these definitions and therefore would not be able to establish control over regions in the Caribbean.

Please Admin, is this the correct interpretation?

I was surprised to see Brits flip another US port and Pirates looked like they might have counter-ground some US contention against another coastal port.

You Pirate and Brit ninnies ever gonna fight each other or you just going around the map until you run out of excuses?

It's like you had one bashup on the weekend and had to go lie down for a week to recover from it.

It s not the frenchies gonna tell others who they have to fight against...

Ironically (and maybe this comes with being French) our best "friends" are the Dutch. We don't really like each other and kind of get on each others nerves but we don't go around swapping ports and we can kill each other on site without it having to result in 25v25 port battles or even worse, diplomacy!

We are allied with the Dutch, an alliance to murder each other anytime we see each other without further discussion. Pretty much the best and the only win/win diplomacy I know of.

Thanks God I am not Dutch!

You know what, I'm tired of trying to explain to you what "no hostile port battles" means or what 3+ weeks of exactly this kind of dumb metagaming has done to my ability to put up with even more of it now. Much easier to just not make any more deals that involve Pirates or Danes. Go play your stupid word games with some other sucker.

We tried that. Doesn't work. They're all idiots who think "alliance" is just a way to search for loopholes for their own benefit and screws us over at every turn.

If you know anyone who wants a REAL alliance, involving actual cooperation and mutual respect, you let me know. It ain't Pirates and it ain't the Danes.

You can try the Brits. They are very far away and also fighting the pirates.

    1. Add availability to see the Wind Indicator while in port (myself and others have requested this feature many times before).

    2. Ease up a little on the grind in the areas where it is the harshest - you've had plenty of player feedback regarding which areas to consider.

    3. Revenge ganking - lots of great ideas have been submitted from long time players. But please, no teleport to Free Town.

    Fully agree. Plus:

    1) Pirates are not a nation, they are just pirates. No ports, no territories, just dens, maybe secret or uncharted islands with facilities for storage and repairs, raids, reputation, grand scale larceny, looting and ship destruction. Maybe I forget something, feel free to add.

    2) Pirates did (and still do) not sail big ships. Mostly snows, schloops, the occasional man of war. They did not gather in big clans or groups capable of facing large scale naval forces, not to speak of taking ports for long.

    3) Only sails in sight at the beginning of action (namely, tagging) can enter battles.
