I'm going to be very interested to see what happens with the reinforcement limits in the safe zone.  Does it mean that the reinforcement is the same level of the attacking players?  double their level in the same class of ships?  Some of the better players (not me yet) may be willing to accept that risk and plow through the AI's to get you.  Could make for some exciting fights.  Do you stick around and assist your AI friends or run like hell?

    You better run

Why not stay incognito in battle aswell then? No names, anywhere ingame? Also, no names in the market, we don't need to know who we are bidding against?

We'll only fight nameless pixels ... only ships and br are visible, only npc's get a nametag.

Because, if it doesn't make a difference in OW, then we don't need to know in batlle either?

I could agree if in the battle you are always able to identify friend from foe

  3. Devs and folks alike, regarding player identification in OW: Why not supress it completely?

You wil not know who the other guy/gal is until he/she decides to show ID (i can hear "Hoist the Colours!!!)  or approaches within let's say 1km. Friends and foes alike, with maybe one sign in case he/she belongs to your clan. Maybe also with an interface to agree or not agree to show IDs simultaneously.

And ships and fleets recognizable only by visual/spyglass is great.

Only in battle groups and battle instance you know who are the other guys involved with or against you, what ship they are in, and the rest we already have now.

Would love to hear from you all guys!

To get back on topic..  why do battles close anyway outside the green zones...  shouldn't they stay always open as in real life, or does that not fit in with the "gank" mentallity that protects the person that calles simple ganking PvP?

They should stay open forever only to join the weaker side imho

  6. Is there any reason why the only possiblity when you don't want an outpost or building anymore, is to destroy it? and at a cost besides?

I suggest that both outposts and buildings could be bought and sold between players, maybe via de trade window. Or through the contracts mechanism. Or both, even paying the corresponding taxes.

I started a topic in Suggestions with this. Thanks for any inputs you may have.

You could do that, but not for long. HRE has a system of "verified traders" and no clan members are allowed to overbid them on several critical ressources (including cartagena tar ofc). They sell it to the clan warehouse for a fixed price, that way we keep costs low, accessibility high and the time invested in shipment efficient. So if that new player comes into my clan those traders will notice quickly and then tell him about that rule. You wont make much out of that.

I think it just needs to be an option. It would suck if every non-clan player couldnt set contracts in any clan-owned ports. What if you add to the entry rights "Friendly Clans only" (besides national and free-for-all)? That would not change the entry rights per se, but close the port for contracts. Right now RvR doesnt matter much on critical ressources since alts can buy everything. Friendly clan lists already solved the problem of port battle entry, i think it would work for economy too.

Or you could allow clans to fix much higher taxes (50%, even 100%) and since this extra money goes to the clan, clan members would benefit or get refunds, etc

So, basically sail a disposable oak/oak ship packed with carronades up there and play bumper boats for one battle hoping you get your 20k damage before getting sunk.  Then build another oak/oak ship to do the same, etc, etc.  It doesn't really seem like an authentic PVP experience.

Still struggling to find a game motivation for risking good ships in PvP, which is what we really need.

Suggestion: Give 5 duras to those prized ships used in patrols

Do not insult other nationalities. Do not be a bigot, racist, fascist etc. you see how easy that was?

Ignoring hate speech kills every day IRW.  Watch the news. Hatred and bigotry is not funny. I am sorry you feel the need to insult others to feel superior. Its just wrong. Not looking at it or looking away from it is how that particular clip happenned. People ignored hatred untill it was too late. Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.

I will bet you a gold Victory, you have not lost both of your grandparents in that war, and raise you a Santisima you do not speak Russian and German.

There are many ways to make fun of Russians, God knows there are plenty of videos to prove that. Bringing Hitler to Russian conversation by a German is never a good idea.

    P.S.

Redii, I had a much higher opinion of you (not htat you should care or anything).

Comrade, even being right in your comments about the greatest tragedy of the XXth century, its causes and its aftermath, please do not take it personally or as an insult, I really can´t see hate, only players/forum participants poking fun at others and ready to get their due back and, as I see it, no harm intended. NA is a game and the forums also are one. I really don´t see any insult in taking one of the best cinema situations regarding the fall of the nazi and using it to make fun of some co-gamers. With all due respect for the fallen and a commitment not to ever forget.
