But EVE is not a place for carebears or nice guys... it is a place full of fighting and building stuff to fight.

Raiding is a great idea for the all out pvp players , they can go to that level of robbing each other, fighting and defending.
The problem with naval action currently is that the server lumps everyone into one dog eat dog server so players who keep losing, who cant defend themselves who just want more casual gaming experience , they have no where to hide, no where to turn and so sure the aggressive players get to laugh and giggle and have their fun robbing everyone they do not give a shit about what it does to the players who do not want that kind of gameplay yet are forced to keep losing their stuff. This is why naval action keeps losing players because of this kind of game mechanic.
Look at my idea for one server, two maps. I think raiding would be great for the hardcore pvp map but there must be an area of the map or a map where players can turn too if they need pve or just keep losing.
Judging by your avatar you were an Eve player. And I cant believe you are complaining about how the server lumps people. You must have been a commodities trader in that game and never left the station.
And if you want to be a pirate, then you should expect PVP... sorry but you cant be a carebear and a pirate, that would make you a veggie tales pirate.

Actually Hodo is correct.
Slander applies to spoken or vocal media, not through text based media. It is a common misconception that slander is a catch all, but yet it is not.
Libel is the term you are looking for as this is a text based forum. Had they used Youtube, Twitch or some other video or audio system to say these things then it would be slander.

The Trader Snow is lighter constructed, less structure, less armor, and less hit points. AND you pay for the guns if you put them on by losing that from the cargo space anyway.

The Trade ships right now seem really out of balance. The Traders Brig has a 1750 cargo hold caries 16 guns and 2 stern chasers has a crew of 60. But the Trader Snow which is almost identical in size except a wider hold, has 22 guns, 2 stern chasers and 2 bow chasers and a crew of 65 but only a 900 cargo hold.
So a ship that is the same size, that has 5 more men, and 8 more guns loses HALF of its cargo volume to what? If I want to put 26 guns on a Trader Snow I am already sacrificing cargo space but to be losing 850 cargo over the Trader Brig is just idiotic.
So my suggestion is simple.
Up the Trader Snows cargo hold from 900 to 1500. It already is the slowest trade ship of the two why nerf it further.

The thing is about this... a real ship of this time, wouldnt have to worry about this as the cannons are not fixed to the ship. They are aloud to move with their recoil. That and the mass and power of the shot is not enough to move a ship of this size. Unlike the USS Missouri or any modern Battleship, which fire more poundage per gun than the Santisima does in an entire broadside.

I also want to remind every one throwing around the words cheat and exploits. As long as we weren't using the person to cause agro or pull a fleet to prevent it from joining a port battle it is not against the rules. What they had said they might of was going to do with the Pirate alt was very much against the game rules.
I just want to remind folks that making false accusations is against the rules. So you better have something to back it up or I will report folks every time they make little cry baby toddler fits about being out played by legit game mechanics usage.
The funny thing is, he isnt accusing, or saying you did or did not cheat. He is saying that the call is "ironic". Unlike the Alanis Moriset song "Ironic", he got the use of the word right.

As far as I am aware, Surprise in the film Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World was the replica Rose, built in 1970 and now named Surprise, and is shown in some other photographs in this thread. Lynx is also a replica, built in 2001.
Lynx is built true to form. I dont even think it has a engine in it and is completely sail powered.

The Rose, was also called the Bounty and used as a replica of that ship and later used in the filming of "Master and Commander: Far side of the World" as the HMS Surprise.
Either way, the ship sits to close to the water in game in battle vs real life.

That is the Lynx next to the Surprise.
The Lynx in games hull sits too low in the water, and it is also about 20% too small.
Length- 97ft (total Length)
HMS Surprise(Unite) - 129ft.
The Rose, pictured above (replica of the Surprise)- 179ft (Total Length)

If you were to have the 250 or so Global players join the EU server, then you would have 200 less players playing the game. And not like you would see them anyway.
