  1. I also put my brigades in order from veteran to rookie within each division. IE my most veteran units are 1st Texas, 1st Arkansas, 1st Tennessee, while the greener brigades are 5th Texas, 5th Arkansas, 5th Tennessee. I know it sounds a little silly, but it really helps me control the battle at a glance. Each division has a good mix of elite units and rookies, so when I'm ordering around whole divisions, they're fairly diverse. To make it even more interesting, each of my corps represents a region. "The Southwest Corps", "The Southeastern Corps", and "The Atlantic Coast Corps". That way, I can look at a brigade, say the 1st Arkansas, and instantly know its level of experience, which division it belongs to, and which corps it belongs to. All without loosing the feel of the game by giving each brigade a number code. Not that there's anything wrong with the number code thing, but it's not really my style.
  2. Naming your own brigades is such an awesome feature! How do you guys usually name your brigades? I use the naming to help sort out my different divisions. Personally, I mentally give each division the name of a state, then name the brigades in that division after the state. IE my first division contains the brigades 1st Texas, 2nd Texas, 3rd Texas, and 4th Texas; second division contains the brigades 1st Arkansas, 2nd Arkansas, etc... It really helps in the heat of battle to take one look at a brigade and know which corps and division they're from. So, how do you guys usually use the brigade naming?
  3. Right! So, I'm not sure if this has been suggested before, but I was wondering about the ability to choose your own portrait in the campaign. It would just be a simple little feature that would let you choose your general's portraits from a list of those in the game. It would just allow a new level of customization, and maybe help you get more in-touch with your in-game character. After all, how my general supposed to fight Yankees with such ridiculous facial hair?! Or is this already a feature, and I just don't know how to activate it? Again, terribly sorry if this has been suggested before.
  4. I was driving down an old dirt road the other day, so old and worn that it was sunken four or five feet compared to the land around it. I immediately began mentally placing brigades along both sides, and thinking how the flat land around it would make any enemies approaching it easy targets. Then I sadly shook my head, realizing that the absolute perfect defensive position was in real life, and not in UG:CW.
  5. Fascinating! As Mr. Kelly said, there are many problems with Total War replays, but I think I'd be more then willing to deal with the bugs. Come to think of it, that would be a really fantastic feature. I mean, Total War battles are kind of useful to rewatch, but the battles in UG:CW are so intense and strategy-oriented, I think it would really help. What would be REALLY cool, though I'm not sure how realistic it would be to implement, would be a battle replay via an animated map. Kind of like the ones on the Civil War Trust site.
  6. I'm terribly sorry if this has already been asked, but I couldn't find an answer anywhere. I was wondering about the various achievement "medals", (The Homeland Defense Cross, The War Service Medal, The Southern Cross of Honor, etc..). How exactly are they gained? Through certain actions in the campaign, or in historical battles, or what? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
