  1. Hello BogdanM!

If you need help with a system upgrade or a whole new system (recommended due to the old DDR2 Ram) just say so!

Your GPU does support DirectX 11, but it's a bit on the low end side and Naval Action isn't as optimized as a released game is.

    My computer specs are:

    I7 920 @ 2.67 Ghz

    GTX 650

    6GB Ram DDR3

120GB Crucial m500 (Solid State Drive)

    1000GB Caviar Green

    Windows 8 Pro

It runs Naval Action flawlessly at around medium, high settings.

    Also, it's inside a lego case :)

  2. Indeed! Potbs was a good game to begin with, and the fact that it has lasted for around 7 years, an eternity in the interwebs, means something, but on the other side, all good things once come to an end, and Potbs time is over, not now but since a few months ago.

Of course, if the management was better, the fate would have been delayed a good deal, but this is strecthing it, without reason.

  3. Potbs used to be a fun game to play, the portbattles were interesting and pvp gave me chills!

The small team is doing way too many changes, and big ones, to the game. They are shooting in the dark hoping to score some money.

I don't understand how is it still online, seriously, almost dead econ, barely any people left, deserted towns, etc, etc.

  4. I agree with you! Testing Naval Action is such a pain in the rear, the graphics are way too beautiful, the ships are way too detailed and realistic, the sea, oh the sea! It makes me seasick due to its realism.

    It's so hard you know?

  5. so if anyone would invite you into a soc why should we trust you if you run away to the winners without improving yourself

you will mostlikely only be greeted with an boardside from me since i wouldn't be able to savely say he isnt cross teaming and wont take intel over to the enemy you will be better of just flying a blackflag from the beginning.

Arnt you kinda reading into his statement a little to much. It sounds like he could just be saying, "why sink your when the battle is obviously lost?"

Thanks Johny! For the clarification. Whichever society I am welcomed into, I'll be glad to fight for it till I die, for the society as whole! What I was saying is, why sail alone, and get sunk by societies when I can join one, and reap the benefits of team mates, and them of my presence.

Never fear for my honour! I'll give everything I can for this society!

  6. I agree with BungeeLemming and Maturin, I couldn't have said better myself.

2 light ships will suffer equal amounts of damage.

1 light ship and one heavy, the light will suffer the most damage, the medium sized ship should be able to keep on it's way.

1 light ship and a Victory, only a mad captain would thing of ramming a 1st rate with a cutter, the cutter would get pretty badly damaged, will probably sink.

  7. Good to know you've enjoyed that beauty that the 74 is!

I think also you can rank up in the Royal Navy if you choose it. Such as getting a comission to Middie, then ranking up. Your ship depends on your rank, so as a middie youd get a cutter, etc. Your crew gets uniforms, such as when you are an Admiral you get a captain, and 3 lieutenants, and 3 midshipmen, some marines, and how many seaman.

I don't think that this is possible, as it looks like a levelling system, and Naval Action will not have levels, maybe it will pack player reputation I'm unsure.

  8. This is something that should be discussed!

One thing that I don't want, is damage being displayed like in Potbs. There is simply too much information that it takes away the fun and thrill of trying to figure out, whether I should stop pounding the enemy and board or not.

A very cool way to display damage, would be on the ship itself, if accurate cannonball holes could be displayed and the relevant rigging to be cut off, dynamically, there would be no need of an UI to display ship damage.

If dynamic damage is something very advanced or resource heavy, use different textures to display damage, on the ship. And do something like DayZ, show little status messages like, "heavy flooding!" or "we're takin' water!" coupled with vocal warnings like in Silent Hunter 5.

Start watching at 10 or 30 seconds, you'll notice a crew member shouting information.

I would like to see a dynamic damage system, and not just an assortment of numbers and colours in an UI.
