Plerrick de baddas you said one very important thing that is correct. you said your description was from YOUR point of view. it was, it is very biased and of course we have our point of view too. your level of anger is totally inappropriate and unfair. just a few points for you to help you understand.
- The british nation was not united when you had your alliance. there was no council and no agreed alliances. you WERE NOT allied with britian. you were allied with a minority of clans. Thus it WAS NOT your allies who attacked RAE. there were a lot of internal problems and discussions that you did not see, that made it impossible for Britain as a nation to help you.
- You talk of our failure to do what you want as betrayal. no. some of our clans were your allies, not your troops to order around as you like. you requested help and we were unable to provide it the way you wanted. really it was innappropriate to have allies so far apart anyway. we couldnt save you anymore than you could save yourself. quit blaming us for your problems.
- In your war against us in Panama you make it sound like you beat us every time there is a proper fight. this is nonsense. i have been in a very large number of the battles between the french and english and we have won more of the 25v25 battles i have expereinced. You claim you are 'better' but there is no basis for this. sometimes you win fair battles, sometimes we do. in my personal experience it is more often us. in the first battles in panama we were actually much more successful than you in the full battles especially in the open water where our frigate screen destroyed yours frequently, since then it has been more mixed as you have got better. You forget that we re-captured all our territory on YOUR time, in the face of your entire fleet. your fleet mostly avoided combat with ours and you abandoned your ports just like we did. why is it wrong when we do that but ok when you do it? You seem to think this war is only for french entertainment and should be fought just according to what you want. but what about us? does what we want not matter? often now you are winning because you are the defenders, who have the advantage. and you have the spanish, so you outnumber us. this is normal i war, the side with the advantage and the momentum changes. but it is nonsense that the british are not good in battles, we are very succesfull. equally it would be nonsense that the french arent very good in battle, as we have found you to be worthy opponents. stick to the truth eh?
- You complain about insults against you from brit players and you are correct that it is unacceptable to refer to WW2 etc. however this is the internet, there are bad people on every side and they do not represent the nation as a whole. you CANNOT say that all of Britain is bad because some players insulted you. spanish and french players have been insulting me personally in this thread and trolling and insulting britian in general too. a lot of it. does this mean all of those nations are bad? no of course you say the french and spanish are lovely, ignoring the fact the spanish use the same tactics (or as you call them exploits) that you hate so much. you cannot apply these double standards where you condemn my nation for doing the same things that you ignore in your own and your allies.
- I will not go through all your arguments about the timers because we have been asked not to. there is nothing else to say there. our american players defended Conil last night, its in their timezone. quit whinging about legit game mechanics. useing them does not make us bad people. it makes us multinational and sensible.
Your anger helps no one. it is extremely biased and illogical. holding grudges like this against an entire nation is childish. we were not even a nation when the insults you claim were given, we were groups of clans that didnt even agree on what to do. this is a game, if you dont enjoy they way it is going i suggest you change your approach. the original poster of this thread is not 'wrong', he cannot be wrong as it is his experience that he describes. there are a lot of french players who are also enjoying this war. i know that because i have come to know a lot of them though the fighting. we exchange friendly messages after battles congratulating the winner. we arrange 1v1 duels when things are quiet, we have FUN and enjoy each others efforts. WE are having a friendly war because we CHOOSE to. you have decided to just take a biased view and get angry with everything and it will do you no good whatsoever. i have heard members of your own nation say to me in private that you are driven by hatred and a need to destroy the british nation and that they dont like this. so maybe you need to look at yourself more eh? do YOU really represent France? i think you represent a minority and you like to whip up the hatred with exaggeration to help your cause.
Plerrick i would be happy to duel you in equal ships any time so you can gauge my skill and behavior. Ranger in game. message me. we have fought many times in fleet battles and i dont remember being on the losing side very often. I had a duel with horail just last night because we were bored after the fighting. Horail, was it fun and friendly? was i not skillful? how does that fit into Plerricks description of all brits? it does not. i have done the same with Charles le forbe and Bourganville. we have fun and dont get angry with each other. its not hard to do. it really isnt.
Please stop making the problem worse with this nonsense. you are part of the problem not the solution.

Ranger, i apologise for accusing you of lying when in fact you weren't. i dont like the 4-6am timers and i should have expressed that in a more mature fashion. please can you guys not use them any more as i think it negatively affects game play.

I tell you what, if you apologise i will argue in the next British war council meeting that we shouldn't do it anymore and that we should aim for better overall gameplay. fair deal?
however if you dont retract your accusations of being a liar, a coward and someone who can only win by exploiting then i dont see why i should be so reasonable.

Oh and by the way i am completely fine with the spanish and danes using it against us. its their choice, its according to the game rules and its a legitimate defensive tactic.

- I said its common practice and our enemies do it to us, so of course we do it ourselves
- You said that no one else does it to us. you said that i was lying about it
- I pointed out that actually i can prove that they DO do it to us.
- You then said that they do and they dont in the same sentence and tried to make excuses for WHY they do it. (avoiding admiting they do actually do it)
- Now you are saying you dont personally approve of it. and its only an 'isolated case' that the danes did. (basicly admitting that yes, you were wrong, it does actually happen and also ignoring the fact that the spanish are currently doing it more than once so, its not isloated at all.)
So, the question is: Do our enemies use 4-6AM against us or not? please be more clear in your answer this time. no ifs or buts, no excuses or running away. a straight answer.

Us not defending certain ports during prime time has nothing to do with 'guts' (bravery is meaningless in a game) and everything to do with strategy. we are being attacked on 3 fronts, we cannot defend everywhere at once. so, we use different timers. other nations do the same. (as you have seen)

I understand that you dont have the courage to admit you were wrong in public and that you were throwing around accusations without checking them (being THAT wrong in public is embarrassing) but the best you can come back with is:
'they're doing it too' followed by 'everyone is doing it fallacy'
So pls, while i go get some more popcorn, tell me. is it or is it not true that the others do it too? you seem to be contradicting your self very heavily in your desperate retreat.

Neither the Danes nor the Spanish nor the Pirates are spearheading your territory with 4-6 timers (Like the red dot nation is doing and has done in the past) so quit saying that everyone else is doing it against you. It's a petty lie.

The danes captured Serrana and did that 2 days ago. its an island in the middle of our territory and they set it to 4-6AM to make capture harder and that is just the latest example. i have'nt exactly kept records of when it has happened before but it happens a lot and its just not important enough.
Not only that but the spanish captured Santa fe, Daguilla, siguanea and Cocodrillo from us last week and 3 out of 4 of those are set to 4-6AM RIGHT NOW. so, yes the spanish do it to us.
I am not lying just because you dont actually bother to check your facts.
What did we do about Serrana? we didnt whinge on the forums, we dealt with it.

Once again it has been proven that this faction abuses port timers to completely deny any retaliation from other factions. The red dots faction has fallen so low now it's unbelievable.
The sad thing is someone will come and attempt to defend the indefensible.
Oh for gods sake, every other nation in your alliance apart from the french uses this same timers against us. how can you be so biased to say that it is only us who is wrong? the pirates do this, the spanish do this, the danes do this. why is it ok for them and not for us? where are your posts complaining about them?

Was that a different flag carrier? you had 3 of our flag carriers intercepted but 1 did get through. i was there when he planted the flag and he was not in battle. possibly you mistook cunil for cuyo flag?

We were not using this thing where you can leave a battle instantly to our advantage. in fact it was something we were trying to avoid as we did not want to get tagged at all. but when the battle says you can leave, you leave! the 'dissapearance' thing is just some nonsense about not understanding invisiblity timers i think. as ever it is spun into 'britain cheats' propoganda.
i agree that the radius for dropping the assault flag should be smaller but they know the port assault mechanics arent good and a change is being planned.

Ah Chargonard it was you i rammed off our Santi at the start of the battle! you were lucky, i was going to board you but i just missed it. i had full boarding load out and later you saw me use it on the Pavel.
You guys put up such a good fight in that battle against our bigger ships. its a really interesting battle when you get more small ships of the line against fewer big ones like that. its totally different to normal 25 vs 25 battles.

yeah an accusation of something that i think is impossible to be real cannot be used against us. wait for the outcome of the tribunal. i dont see any way that this is a real exploit, i dont think the server mechanics would allow it but people will want to beleive it so it gives them more things to shout at us about. i really dont think its true at all.

Well now suddenly a reasonable post! i agree with everything you are saying pretty much for a change, as i said i didn't like that we used it but you were holding us responsible as a nation for that decision and branding us all as wrong for it. we didn't plan it, it was a last minute impulse when we got there and the button became active. Its not great but its not worth all this incredible anger that you and others directed. it doesnt support the statements you made. it is highly relevant that it was done to us first. we wouldnt have even known it was possible if it wasnt!
However it is not something that the tribunal would deal with either way, its a game mechanic that isn't finished yet and hopefully it will be fixed. calling it cheating and calling for a ban is misunderstanding what cheating is. cheating is going outside the game rules, like it or not the land is not involved in the rules about planting flags. so be carefull who you call cheaters.
Anyway glad this argument is over, i think you should be more restrained in future with your criticism. as you say, if you think there is something wrong with the game tell the devs in the appropriate forum. this flame war helps no one. When i had a problem i did not flame in this thread or any other, i reported sensibly and factually in the tribunal thread what my concern was, i asked the question if it was allowed and i am happy with the response they gave. this is the correct way to raise problems, it is not 'a river of tears' etc.
I hope we have more fun battles tonight in game and not on the forum.

- Tiberon was captured from the Danish. the Danish use those timers against us and we against them. its fair. you use EU primetime timers in south cuba and we use the same in Jamaica so its fair. what is there to complain about? nothing. you have never owned Tiberon and its not in your zone of interest so far. you have ports similar to that like port au paix and puerto de nippe on late timers. so what? weak weak weak. the mightly pirate co-alition, rendered useless by a single late port timer? come on man, pull the other one.
- If you really care about being told off in global chat, go attack St anne or antonio or somewhere not kingston. not that i really think anyone cares about the rubbish spawned in global chat.
come fight us in primetime man, we are happy for you to do it and we are waiting. that's why we set the timers there.
And if you must continue to complain about the British, at least try harder to make it true? people say the british do nothing but complain about timers etc. but you are complaining about them when its not even true? gosh, how embarrasing.

Yeah its actually not an exploit, its really just a poor game mechanic that both sides have used. when the spanish kept using it against us we didnt even complain it was so minor compared to every other dirty trick that has been used against us.
However, now that it is convenient to use it to fuel the hate campaign against the British suddenly spanish players think it proves we are a nation of cheaters.
I think the main problem is the French have not been exposed before to the nasty style of warfare that we british have been exposed to by our attackers. so it is all new to them and upsetting. given how well they behave in game and how good an opponent they are i think we should be more careful to return the favour. its difficult when the spanish and french fleets are mingled and working together but the french deserve a lot more respect for the way they conduct themselves in game, which is admirable. they are fun to fight each and every night and i had a lot of people send me messages congratulating me for the port battle last night. apparently i was being watched by 100 people on twitch! from the spanish players i have only had troll messages offering me tissues or insulting me. shame.
We should make sure we keep the war with them friendly so that it stays fun. the spanish, well we can use their tricks against them to be fair.
I do not complain of placing the flag but the disappearance of the fleet of boats port attack.

There is no way for us to dissapear ships, the game does not allow this. you cannot cheat it because it is all done on the server.
i really don't understand what you mean or what the problem is. please talk to a mod or something. it is just a misunderstanding from you because we dont have some magic to make ships dissapear.

This is all so pathetic. When your alliances uses timers, exploits and outright cheating against us you ignore it. its all ok, its the British that are bad and deserve to be destroyed.
but when the British use the SAME game mechanics suddenly we are cheats and the worst people on earth.

I wanted to prevent it being used any more and it was. I really think you need to read more carefully.
So going back to the topic you are avoiding why is it ok for the Spanish to invent an exploit to use against the british, but not for us to use it afterwards? you say you hate exploiters, why don't you talk to the Spanish captain who invented it? it is you having a tantrum and trying to give a morality lesson here friend.

Plerrick why are you even doing it? if you hate the war so much and you hate playing us so much and you hate what is going on on these forums why are you here? just stop? go play in another area. you like the Spanish so much? arrange a war against them! you hate this game, play another! you want to come here and give such a biased opinion and insult so many of our players but wont accept a reply then why bother? it makes no sense what you are doing. why on earth are you playing if you hate it so much?
If most of the french also hate this war, then stop!! you started it, if you dont like it, go away. seriously. this is a game, its supposed to be fun, if you are unable to enjoy playing people who are playing by the rules of the game then stop. We british are not a service for you to give you the perfect war that you want and give you terrritory that we want to keep. we do not have to play the exact way you want, we are not here for your entertainment alone. you guys don't do what we want!
I am enjoying the war, others in france and britain and spain are enjoying the war, we fight huge battles almost every night in EU primetime, i am sure there will be more tonight. anyone who doesnt enjoy it should just go and do something they will enjoy. this is how games work.
